Thank you so much - there was no information about this app or my Momentum Vida+ e bike when I purchased it. so strange not to have any kind of manual.
Hi nice informative video, well done. I noticed when you went back to one of your previous rides, there was a lot of information missing, like your average cadence etc. My control unit on my Fathom E+3 bike required an update to version 3-3 when I switched on the bike and opened the app. Since the update information is now missing from the app once I store my ride recording. Average cadence, battery consumption and average and maximum power wattage are not being displayed. All were displaying after previous rides but since the update are all blank. Have you any idea what the remedy might be ? Have you come across this issue from other Giant bike owners ? Please let me know if you have a fix. Cheers.
Hi Donny! Well, I have looked around a little and I don't see a fix, just yet. It may be a "page setup" setting. I use a Wahoo for all my telemetry and those settings never changed - still reading properly. I will check in with our local Giant dealer and see what I can find out and post here later. Thanks for watching.
@@TroyandAndrea hi thanks for the reply. As I went out for a bike ride immediately after the update, I’m hoping that after returning and removing the battery, the old power down then back up trick may work. The weather hasn’t been that great here, and I have not been out since the day I did the update. If the power down then up trick works, I will surely let you know for future reference. Cheers. 👍
I had a similar issue with my 2019 Giant Fathom E+3. Various bits of information suddenly went walk about. Then I downloaded and installed the latest firmware upgrade and all the missing info tabs returned.
I don't connect my ebike to my phone, kills the phone while your listening to a podcast. It should have it's own display screen for 3,000+ dollars. Mine was 1200 and also has a screen.
@@user-oo7un6ko9b the idea of sending info to the app on the phone, is to limit what’s attached to the bar, and saves the display getting smashed if the bike goes down. All is well with my readouts too after an update.
I got a quick question i hope you can help me with. Does the unit on the bike auto record your ride without the app?, or do you always have to use the app to record the ride?. I have not been able to figure this out .
Hi! I saw no indication that the unit on the bike made any recordings without the app. It's simply for controlling the parameters of the bike. Unless there is a firmware update I am not aware of, I don't believe that option is available. Thanks for watching.
Great question! I don’t remember seeing a battery health indicator anywhere within the app. You might call your local dealer or Giant customer support to see if there’s a way to check battery health. Thanks for watching.
Hi Cristel! Yeah, that’s always an issue with MTB frames. The feed bags I use give a little more space. You might try toptube bags and/or saddle bags. www.revelatedesigns.com is a great resource. Thanks for watching!
My bike won’t turn off suddenly on my ride control display on the bike. I’ve taken the battery off and on and it still happens. Sometimes I get a red light too. Any ideas? Thanks
Woah! That’s doesn’t sound good. I tried finding info on that in the manual but to no avail. I would ask your local bike shop where you bought the bike if the have a solution, or contact Giant support on their website. Hope it works out for you.
There is no digital storage on the bike, that I am aware of, so your music would play from your phone. The app just allows you to control it. Thanks for watching.
Hi! Yes, under settings you should be able to change the standard from kilometers to imperial, or standard. That should give you readings in miles. Hope that helps! Thanks for watching!
I have the same bike, a Giant Stance E+1, I have just installed the app on my iphone, filled in all my details and it connected to my bike, unfortunately it goes time out before the download completes my phone is showing 5g and I live in the Scottish Highlands, would appreciate some though on this. P.S. pensioner and not very techy.
Hi Tara! Yes. First, tap "Settings" and then "Personal Data" and at the bottom of the page, tap "Unit". It should give you the option for metric or Imperial. Thanks for watching the video.
You can also hold down the light/info button on the controls for 30 seconds or so. My app is set to "Imperial" but the display sometimes still shows metric. I'm not sure why they're out of sync
Removing the battery and a good quality bike lock might be your best options. But, if a thief wants to steal your bike, they will find a way. There’s no setting in the app that will prevent theft.
Anyone help I have a giant fathom 2021 ebike I done the system check on the ride control app and alls green expect the sync drive motor is showing a Red Cross and on my Display panel the middle light is flashing red been fine for months but just randomly stopped working
Just watched your video. Thanks. Do you have a video that details all the functions of the Ride Control on the bike. What all the buttons and options are. I cannot find anything on the Giant website, or any other place that explains ALL the options. One of them is the bottom right button which when held for a ffew seconds, turns off the middle LED light. I have no idea what that actually does.
I’m sorry Phil, I dont. It’s been a while since I tested, reviewed, and shot this video. I don’t have the info you’re looking for - and you’re right, Giant doesn’t offer too many details. Hope you find a solution. Thanks for watching.
Most cycling computers require tire size calibration in order to record accurate distance. You might need to confirm, or look for a calibration / tire size in the settings. Or, if the Bluetooth loses connection during your ride, then it can affect distance readings. Also , you should talk with your local Giant dealer about the problem and see if they can resolve the issue. Thanks for watching!
Hi Kevin! I had the same issue with the app when I reviewed the bike and never figured out how to delete an entry. I also tried googling for an answer, or hack and haven't found anything. If you figure it out, or run across the info. Please share with us. Sorry, I couldn't be of better help. Thanks for watching.
My bike is synced to app but when I go to ebike setup afterwards it always just tells me to try again, try again... I've disconnected the battery, reinstalled the app and I never get it to work. It sucks since I have this expensive bike that I am unable to fine tune. Any suggestions? Thanks!!
Sorry you’re having troubles. I had to go to my bluetooth settings and “forget this device” in order for my phone to recognize the bike again. Maybe try that? Hope that helps.
Yeah, I caught that too after I recorded it. That’s why I put a little pop up title with a correction to say “20 percent” increments. It’s percentage, not minutes. Thanks for watching!
Great controller. Crap, brittle, not fit for purpose bracket which mounts the controller onto the handlebar, which will snap and break at the first opportunity. The app is at best hit and miss. What works, work what doesn’t work, doesn’t!
@@JohnChristopher-k7u Yeah, I broke one on a different model bike. Bummer. There are a few different mounting brackets, so it depends which one is more breakable. But, the dealer had it fixed asap, so that was good. The app has a long history of version updates, so it might depend on an update … but apps are never perfect. Thanks for your comments.
@@TroyandAndrea “Different mounting brackets”? That’s news to me. In the time I’ve had my 2019 Giant Fathom E+ 3 29er, I’ve destroyed 4 brackets, two of them out of warranty. I’ve now ended up doing a gorilla fix, using a spare bit of inner tube and a couple of zip ties to secure my controller to my handlebar. It’s far from ideal but it’s better than returning my bike to the shop every three months and spending another £100 on something that shouldn’t have snapped in the first place.
