Starring: Gene Wilder, Harrison Ford, Ramon Bieri
Synopsis: Rabbi Avram Belinsky (Gene Wilder) lands in Philadelphia intending to travel to San Francisco, where he plans on starting a synagogue. Quickly relieved of his belongings by a group of con artists, Avram optimistically sets out alone on foot toward the Wild West. He gets into one scrape after another until he is rescued, in a way, by a compassionate horseman named Tommy Lillard (Harrison Ford). Unfortunately, Tommy may not be quite as heroic as he seems, and it is still a long way to California.

One of Gene Wilder's best roles and Harrison Ford is really good along with the rest of the cast

The first time we watched they had changed all of the curse words. My husband and son had some of the scenes memorized 😄

Wow.... I never even heard of this movie. It looks like a long SNL skit. This film definitely does not appear on Harrison Ford's greatest hits list.

It should be in Harrison's greatest hits. Wonderful movie.

It did well at the theaters. Saw it when it came out in 79. It is a very funny movie. Not a big fan of Gene Wilder. But this is my favorite movie he is in. And Harrison Ford plays a great part as well.

A squawking, gobbling turkey of the highest order. No wonder Warners buried it.

Please don't tell Kathleen Kennedy about this film, she already ruined Han Solo and now Indiana Jones in the Dial of Boredom, don't let her ruin this character too.

I think the ship has sailed, now that Ford is in his 80's. And Warner Bros isn't under her control.

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny was GREAT, if you understand it.

And even Han Solo wasn’t treated badly in the sequels, even though the films were very disappointing.

@@pierrepasquel8957 So having him be another dead beat dad, just like KK did to him in Indiana Jones, and divorced shortly after getting married, like in Indiana Jones are not changing him from a brave character who in each case really did put others before themelf, no matter what they said out loud didn't ruin him? I wonder what you think it takes to ruin someone.

Gene Wilder overacting just as usual.
