    Lots of great information! I’m going to try some of the varieties you mentioned to see how they do here, along with what we usually plant. We also live in zone 8 so this was so helpful. Thank you!

    Hi Ali. Your garden is so beautiful. My name's Ellie and I live in northern Greece. We have also had a scorching summer with temps reaching up to 42 celcius. I really love anything that's green and feeling the soil in my hands. Unfortinately I have a really tiny space to grow veg, however I plan to grow a bit of everything. Leeks, spinach, carrots, chard, radishes, lettuce and maybe a cabbage, cauliflower and brochli or two. Your video is very inspiring which is why I'm a new subscriber, Thankyou. Looking forward to many more of your videos
    God bless.

      Hello from the USA! And the thank you! I am so looking forward to cooler weather this year!
      Sounds like even though you have limited space, you will be growing a nice variety of winter veg. 😃. How cold do your winters get?

      @@Alisorganics We used to have quite a bit of snow. We had a mild winter, with only short period of bitter cold of - 5 celcius. They forecast a cold winter for us, we'll see. What was your winter like last year?

      @Alisorganics  2 місяці тому +1

      I thought we were in for a real cold winter last year and it was very mile.
      Our 2023 summer was definitely cooler than this year. We had such a nice June and August. It will be interesting to see what happens this year. We need more rain for sure!

    I’m really enjoying your videos. I also live in 8a even though they want us to believe we live in 9a. The difference is I live in high humidity and wet spring. Hour N of Houston TX.
    If you had a bit more space would you recommend wider aisles to your raised beds??
    I have a fenced in area for gardening and have really bad deer pressure so EVERYTHING has to be protected 365 days a year.
    I’m just beginning the infrastructure of my garden so would love your input on an ideal garden bed design.

    • @Alisorganics
      @Alisorganics  2 місяці тому +2

      I’m so glad we don’t have that problem. All n the outskirts of town people have real problems.
      I would DEFINITELY have wider rows. I covered that in my garden layout. My beds are staggered as well. If I were to do it again, I wouldn’t stagger them. The wider rows would allow me to take a wheelbarrow down them Have to carry my compost in buckets. Mine are only 18”. 24 or 36 would be awesome!

    • @rhondaswanson9811
      @rhondaswanson9811 2 місяці тому

      I’ll definitely check my preferred wheel barrel width and plan accordingly!! I’ve got a 35 ft x 60ft area to build my beds. 35 ft faces E-W and long ways N-S. No obstructions. Barn is on N side so sheltered from cold winds. Would you recommend running beds E-W or N-S?
