We have one Alpine named Annie and one Boer named Louise. Have not bred either one yet. They lay their heads on us for hugs and so loving. Couldn't live without them. I love your space! We love Chaffhay!
I am 40 working in a metro city want to live a farm life after retirement in my village. Got clarity from your video for my Goat farming plan. Love and respect from India.
We had 3 French Alpine goats (3) and 1 Toggenburg (goofy spelling) loved all of them. The girls were so calm and lovi ng. Was broken hearted when we moved quite far away and had to part with them. Good milk .
Im going back and forth on wheather to get goats, sheep, cows or even donkeys.. I like the idea of having goats more than the others but was afraid I couldnt handle it. This video has definitly calmed the nerves and I think I will go with the goats. Thanks!!
I will be getting goats soon on my nearly 6 1/2 acres in Oklahoma Northeast. Living up in the mountains and preparing for goats off-grid living. But I must get a very good refrigerator freezer solar system going
I've found the best mangers for sheep and goats uses a horse panel with 2"x4" openings for them to feed through. I have almost no waste compared to even the usual 4"x6".
@@utubegreats They definitely like to be right in my face! Poppy is the little twerp that keeps jumping on me. Filming was most “interesting” as they are the star of the show!
This was so cool to watch! Raising goats is a long term goal of mine, but it seemed overwhelming. This video is so clear and articulated that I don't feel nervous anymore. Would it be possible for you to do a video on debudding (I think that's what you said) and cutting the hoofs? If you decide to bottle feed the newborn kids, how do you separate them from the mother? Do you use the mother's milk in the bottles or do you use a formula?
@@elizabethfriedrichsen4870 I honestly didn’t know how long I would raise goats. Once I got them, I knew it would be forever! I sure can do a video on disbudding and trimming hooves! When babies are born we clean them off and bottle feed within the first 30 minutes with their mother’s milk. I keep the babies in the inside part of the barn for a few nights, longer if it’s really cold, then introduce them back with the herd. They think we are mom at that point and look to us for their food. I keep all of the mornings milk for babies and night milk for us after a week. They get all the first weeks milk, as it has the colostrum. I don’t really like the formula, but If something were to happen to mom and I didn’t have another doe in milk, I would feed formula and I do keep some formula in the freezer, “just in case”.
So much information. I don't have goats, but after watching this, I think I want a couple. I love how your goats are so friendly... Are the fuzzy goats angoras?
I just found your channel I’m so excited to learn as much as I can I did the jump in and own goats method 🤪 I love my goats You said something about having a book Where can I find it to buy please
I plan to live and raise meat sheep on 2.5 acres so I know I'll be dry loting part of the time. My question is, do they pick up parasites when in confinement? Has this ever been an issue for you?

Yes, those fuzzy guys are Angoras. Goofy characters for sure.
Love your information! Best to you and your fuzzy little pets
Wonderfully informative video. Have you considered sheep instead of goats? Do you have pro's and cons for sheep vs goat? Thank you for your time.
Sheep make Baaaaahhh sounds vs goats make Meeeeeahhhh.
