    You made it look pretty easy, thank you. You can't believe how much they charge to do this 10 minute job. I was recently quoted $25 to change this cabin air filter and the engine air filter, which is easier than the cabin air filter. They quoted me $70 to spray some de-greaser on the top of my engine, de-greaser runs about $4 a can.

    • @klowny1969
      @klowny1969  4 роки тому

      don't do the degreaser..25 isn't bad for filter change

      @@klowny1969 It is for me, I'm on a fixed income and have to pinch pennies, and I'm sure that dollar amount was because it was an estimate with more work. $369 for an oil change $39.95, change out spark plugs and wires $235.00, and spray the engine with de-greaser $70.00 and change the 2 filters (that I had already bought) $25.00.

    You don't have the CF174 side plenum water intrusion filter. It attaches to the upright sheet metal brace toward the passenger fender from the cabin filter with a push fastener just like the OBD2 socket mounting panel under the dash. It's supposed to keep water from splashing into the heater fan. It does a pretty reasonable job of keeping leaves out too.
    I've never been able to figure out what determined whether GM installed these. The SS/LTZ cars all the way down to the base models might or might not have em from the factory from 2006-2015. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason.
    Great videos on the heat actuators BTW.

    thanks for the video! as expected, the filter was the cozy bedroom and *toilet* for a mouse. 🤢 the little bugger was still in there when i removed the filter cover. a good hosing of the area (not the fan!), and a scrub with lysol has cleared the air.

    hey klowny watched a few vids of yours with your impala in it and it helps me out alot with mines. quick questio, i have a "rattling knock" like sound coming from the front driver side of my car whenever i go over speed bumps and what not and i can't seem to pinpoint the location of where its coming from. i wanna say it's the entire struct assembly but im not full blown sure. any ideas for this amateur mechanic?

    • @klowny1969
      @klowny1969  9 років тому

      hey thanks for watching my vids :) There is a bulletin for these cars for the steering shaft..it makes a noise and rattle over bumps, especially when the car is turning..also it can be ur struts..biynce the car up and down and see if u get more than one to one and a half bounces or if u see a leak from the strut shaft..wont hurt to also check ur front end ..thnx for watching

    • @yke90
      @yke90 9 років тому

      So I bounce the car on the problem side of the car and I can hear a different sound on the driver struct compared to the other structs. So I'm hoping it's just that struct that's giving the problem.

    • @klowny1969
      @klowny1969  9 років тому

      +jake blan it can also be ur strut mount..if u bounce it up and down with the hood open and ur hand on the top of the strut mount, u can tell..if u put in quickstruts though, they come all assembled with the strut mount
