Just got back from the dealer they wanted to charge me 280 for this and the air filter plus oil change , helpful video saved me 180 bucks , only thing i let them do was oil change 65 bought a air filter 15 put it in for free bought cabin filter 20 free install saved 180 all thanks to you and ppl like you who make helpful videos thank you!!
You made it look pretty easy, thank you. You can't believe how much they charge to do this 10 minute job. I was recently quoted $25 to change this cabin air filter and the engine air filter, which is easier than the cabin air filter. They quoted me $70 to spray some de-greaser on the top of my engine, de-greaser runs about $4 a can.
@@klowny1969 It is for me, I'm on a fixed income and have to pinch pennies, and I'm sure that dollar amount was because it was an estimate with more work. $369 for an oil change $39.95, change out spark plugs and wires $235.00, and spray the engine with de-greaser $70.00 and change the 2 filters (that I had already bought) $25.00.
You don't have the CF174 side plenum water intrusion filter. It attaches to the upright sheet metal brace toward the passenger fender from the cabin filter with a push fastener just like the OBD2 socket mounting panel under the dash. It's supposed to keep water from splashing into the heater fan. It does a pretty reasonable job of keeping leaves out too. I've never been able to figure out what determined whether GM installed these. The SS/LTZ cars all the way down to the base models might or might not have em from the factory from 2006-2015. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason. Great videos on the heat actuators BTW.
Thanks for doing this video. I just did mine after watching and it only took about 5 minutes to do. I didn't find it necessary to center the windshield wipers, though.
thanks for the video! as expected, the filter was the cozy bedroom and *toilet* for a mouse. 🤢 the little bugger was still in there when i removed the filter cover. a good hosing of the area (not the fan!), and a scrub with lysol has cleared the air.
Thank you very much Mr. Lowny. Of several similar presentations, you appear to me to have the best. I am all ready to tackle the job now. Glad it isn't behind the glove box like some Ford products.
Very good instructional video !!! I will have to say though ... ONLY GM would design this this way LOL. I can change our Toyota and KIA in 3 mins. My 2008 Silverado doesn't even have one SMH
hey klowny watched a few vids of yours with your impala in it and it helps me out alot with mines. quick questio, i have a "rattling knock" like sound coming from the front driver side of my car whenever i go over speed bumps and what not and i can't seem to pinpoint the location of where its coming from. i wanna say it's the entire struct assembly but im not full blown sure. any ideas for this amateur mechanic?
hey thanks for watching my vids :) There is a bulletin for these cars for the steering shaft..it makes a noise and rattle over bumps, especially when the car is turning..also it can be ur struts..biynce the car up and down and see if u get more than one to one and a half bounces or if u see a leak from the strut shaft..wont hurt to also check ur front end ..thnx for watching
So I bounce the car on the problem side of the car and I can hear a different sound on the driver struct compared to the other structs. So I'm hoping it's just that struct that's giving the problem.
+jake blan it can also be ur strut mount..if u bounce it up and down with the hood open and ur hand on the top of the strut mount, u can tell..if u put in quickstruts though, they come all assembled with the strut mount
Great video! Thank you. I already changed the engine compartment filter, so now with your excellent video I will change my cabin filter. Thank you for helping me to save money going to a mechanic. God Bless
Hey i also have a 2007 chevy impala but when i turn off the a/c it makes a hard clicking sound from within the glove compartment but after a while the clicking stops..any ideas of what it might be?
I have a 1996 Pontiac Grand Am SE 2 Doors Coupe 2.4 L that it doesn't use Cabin Filter, I've heard that they came out in 1997 and my Car it's a 1996 but the thing is that the Air Conditioner Vents on the sides stopped blowing Air but the Vents on the middle they do work, can anyone tell more or less what is causing this since my Car doesn't use Cabin Air Filter?
Hello i have an 08 impala, my heat system work fine. now theres no heat coming on the driverside just cold air, but heat blowing on the passenger side. but there is no ticking noise at all. what this can be?
In going to have to see if I can do this myself. I don't have anyone around to help me and can't afford to take it to anyone. Well I'm at it, maybe ill find out why my windshield wiper juice isn't coming out the hose. 🤞🙄🤣
Your a good mechanic and funy! you think you can do some work on a Gmc sonoma or s10 and post the vid, i work on mine but would help to have a reference.

don't do the degreaser..25 isn't bad for filter change

Check out my video on the blend door actuator:
Chevy Blend Door Actuator Replacement -- (2006-2013 Impala) -Clicking noise / Heat / AC / Fresh Air
It's your actuator takes about 30min to change
After getting the pull pin up a little needle nose pliers are easier to use to extract!
Also use light compressed air to blow debris away before taking filter out!
Thanks for commenting and watching
Thanks..I'm going to do this tomorrow!
thanks for watching and commenting..also check out the rest of my channel for more impala videos and subscribe! thanks

Hello i have an 08 impala, my heat system work fine. now theres no heat coming on the driverside just cold air, but heat blowing on the passenger side. but there is no ticking noise at all. what this can be?
check to see if ur driver side actuator is working..then check for power there..
In going to have to see if I can do this myself. I don't have anyone around to help me and can't afford to take it to anyone. Well I'm at it, maybe ill find out why my windshield wiper juice isn't coming out the hose. 🤞🙄🤣
