Some scriptures you were coming from and Paraphrasing: Proverbs 3:5-6, Jeremiah 17:9, Jeremiah 29:11 and um certain you know those and can think of even more. That was just some of the top of my head.

I broke up with my boyfriend a week ago because it was an unequally yoked relationship. I love God more than I do him and I want to break my family's generational curse of being married or having anything with unsaved men. It's honestly hard, there was nothing wrong with him. I still love him very much but my determination to get closer to God and find out more and learn from him keeps me motivated. Please pray for me, I'm still going through the heartbreak of the breakup

About unequally yoked relationships, it's very dangerous, it will absorb you and lead you astray from your life plans.
And you'll end up losing almost a year of your life before realizing.
It's better to not be involved into such relationships.

Story time : There was a young man I was crazy about. Well one day I went home and my mother was in prayer and the Lord told her to tell me to leave him alone with a strong urgency. Long story short I didn't listen. 🤡. Not only was he barley Luke warm , he didn't want marriage , I myself did not see him as marriage material. So we're fornicating and wasting each other's time , he had anger issues. This relationship cause a major incubus spirit to attach to me and I had to get deliverance from that as well as a soul tie. I can not stress enough how you should NOT date someone unequally yoked.🔥 Pro Tip : stop following secular relationship advice pages or people also.

I dropped my 3 year relationship being unequally yoked last week. I had given my life to Christ 5 months ago. Got delivered from fornication and the spirit of lust. The person I was with was a pretty decent person but we didn’t align spiritually. And for the life of him he can not understand why I left but I can’t give him anymore closure other than God told me to move and I did. I feel so freeeeeee. This is true liberation in Christ. I pray for him all the time and I pray he finds Christ and a wife and love her like Christ loves the church.

Christian red flags 🚩 ! Unequally yoked will backfire every time. I spent years (I’m 44 now so 30 years to be exact) being unequally yoked. Laying down with someone, making soul ties and being absolutely devastated when it failed. I was saved and loved the Lord, but no one could tell! I was so concerned with being popular and accepted. Glad I know now, some 30 years later, that we are “a peculiar people“! When we are not really living to get closer to God we ignore all the red flags. And you nailed it dead with saying we make excuses such as ,”oh he has such a good heart”, but he’s getting drunk every night and def not leading you closer to God! That’s what I want now, someone to lead me closer to God. After all, that’s who I’m living for now🙏🏼 PS, don’t you DARE QUIT THIS MINISTRY! The truth draws haters but it still needs to be spoken💯

I definitely understand this, it means either you or that person wants the relationship to be kept secret and no one is informed most times it’s because you don’t want anyone in your business and you don’t want anyone to give you correction or constructive criticism. I notice as a woman we are good for this in particular…
It is very important if we are dating someone we don’t be ashamed to bring them around our loved ones because most times our loved ones can pin point things we choose to ignore or can’t see and we need guidance and direction…

I hope you’re still standing strong on the word of God! I cut the ex off I was with less than a week ago because peace completely left me and my self esteem reduced so much, to where I was afraid to speak out and be myself and being in sin not only with him but with others.
God shows me when I grieve him, how much of an idol this guy was in my life. (He had good and bad qualities even for unbelievers) but ultimately the lesson from dating him I need to put God in his rightful place and stop sacrificing my sanity, my peace for someone I “like”.

Some people long for such a one, but instead they were unaware or jumped early and now they have marriages and even children, and are unequally yokedand they do not have one they can share the biggest part of them with. Then divisions and contentions arise. Its a hard way to live very hard and suffering is what some would equate it too.

Wow, this came right on time! My children's father wants us to hangout and do stuff as a family, I left him previously and gave my life to Christ, he is now studying the bible, but he is not a disciple yet, and until he becomes one I don't feel comfortable doing stuff together. Yes we have kids together, but we are not together, a real family is a husband, wife, and their children. God willing, maybe we can be a real family one day, but until then I want to make sure I am obeying God and being a good example of what a true disciple is. Please pray for us! Everything you said is true. I was in an unequally yoked relationship for 10 years, and engaged for 3 years - not with a non Christian but with someone who is in the same denomination as I am. I was always disheartened when he refused to worship with me or even pray or study the Bible with me through the phone (we were mostly in a LDR), he always said he's busy or he's going to hang out with his friends after work and so forth. Over the years, especially this year, I was really involved with church, and like you said, having a partner who TOLERATES my involvement in church is not the same with having a partner who SUPPORTS me in ministry. I often felt alone. With every subtle or not so subtle rejection of invitation, my heart was hardened against him. It didn't help that over the years, he had become more brash with his words, our arguments become sharper and he often hurt me to tears with his words. God was so patient with me and He let me see the fruits of the relationship. I ended things a week ago. When I told him I was leaving, he hit me with "Oh so this is how Christians act? You know I'm weak spiritually, and you're just going to leave me like that? I'd rather be an atheist, if that's the case!" And that sealed the deal for me. I'm thankful for His mercies, but I feel very weak at the moment. We were supposed to get married February 2022. 😢I know it's for the best, because I see how an unequally yoked marriage can create a division and heartaches in a family - my mother and father are not equally yoked. But it hurts so bad.

I’ve been unevenly yoked in marriage and didn’t know I was when I got married. He was doing all the right things that attracted me to him looking for a Christian. It has caused me 3 decades of struggle and stress that affected my health nearly costing my life and my walk with God. It still is. It has hurt all my relationships and caused me to become someone I never wanted to be. I still don’t understand how this could have happened other than I was not walking with God when I met my husband and he was it seemed. I don’t know if I will ever fully heal. I wish that I knew this back when I was a young Christian attempting to turn away from sin and that I had a family support system.

I’ve never been in an unequally yoked romantic relationship but I have had crushes on plenty of unbelieving woman. One of the reasons why is because the majority of women at my schools are unbelievers and there aren’t many options at my church or the Christian groups I’m apart of. Although I don’t want to date a non-Christian girl, I also don’t want to view all my sisters in Christ simply as potential dating/marriage partners and try to hit on all of them😭. I personally as a man am trying to grow out my comfort zone and become more comfortable socializing with women, and it’s not like I can just avoid non-Christian girls. I’m just confused and don’t know what to do. Ultimately I pray to God for a Christian spouse, but it’s hard out here. Offer some advice if you can please.

This was a needed a word for me. I feel like I’ve tried to make a relationship work with some one who says they love God but just tolerates God at the same time and doesn’t mind disrespecting God. What you said is so true I know better. But didn’t really realize some things. When I should’ve just did what God was telling me by using others to tell me and that was to not entertain a true unbeliever.
All I gotta say is never NEVER again.
It’s like we would be good then it literally feels like God would allow bad things to happen between me and him.I said in my mind well maybe it could work but I began to notice how things are just getting worse. We would argue and disagree more and more and it just seems to be more frequent in almost the same ways. This relationship is not building me In Christ I feel slightly distracted. This video really confirms it for me. It’s encouraging at the same time.
Gotta have faith and obedience (talking to myself)

One of my “friends” that no longer in friends anymore, shes in in a relationship that is good dude but he doesn’t have a passion for Jesus, I’m not trying to judge him but just by seeing him in church not putting his hands up I can tell how he worships he doesn’t have relationship with God, and she wanted to break up with him but she’s in love with him and afraid she won’t find a better person like that and I think about how when we jump out of of god timing, they will consequence in your decision because for settleing something good instead of Gods best when honestly good person you date will lead you so far from Gods purpose, it’s worth waiting for godly men if your waiting for long time is because God has somebody very special for you and you will be blessed because your obedience

When my husband & I married we were both believers But Not following. I was called back to the Lord & my husband is still drinking, smoking pot and cigarettes. I do not want my 12 year old thinking I am ok with or condone that way of thinking or lifestyle. Raise them up in the way they should go & they will go. I think divorce is the answer to our differences of choices, because I Won't give up the Lord & he won't give up serving his flesh. Any advice on this type of situation??

Thanks Tobias for giving this talk, the way you put things into perspective. When you brought up the thing about adopting practices of people around us, it makes me wonder how this topic can be expanded to our management of friendships. I have some good friends of mine, nice guys btw (though not saved), that speak/joke about things that are pretty perverted and inappropriate that make me wonder if I should cut them off. Any thoughts?

Amen you better preach it's the truth anymore who don't want hear this don't desire to live holy. God has plainly stated about us as being believer's not be unequally yoked but when disobey God word it's major consequences. God knows our desires and devil bring you something that's pleasing to the flesh not saying temptation's not going come to us because devil always looking to see who he can destroy but we must, resist the devil because if we give into him he definitely have you in strong hold. Nothing worth suffering the consequences for being disobedience. Thanks for this encouraging message keep doing the work for the Lord May God bless you and your family.

Great video brother I felt this in my spirit. All Glory to God. What's your take on someone who claims to be a believer who you are interested in but you can tell their relationship with The LORD doesn't seem that strong because of their life style.
Now as a man I don't mind reading The Bible and edifying and leading a young lady to grow in faith but if their lifestyle isn't matching up would that still be considered dealing with the unequally yoked?

  • @20n30somethings
    @20n30somethings 2 роки тому

I agree with some of the points you mention. My thing is, In most of the examples, You sight “people will see” I think everything done should be to honor God. People will always have opinions.. sometimes our actions as believers can drive potential saved people off .. we should do things pleasing to honor God and not care about what others will say .. or judge yes because as you said they don’t know our hearts
    Still great points
