- Here we go by cable car to Ebenalp and walk down to the craziest location of a restaurant in Switzerland, the Bergasthaus Aescher Wildkirchli. We enjoy breakfast there, before continuing on a hike back to Ebenalp, but in the other direction. It was challenging, but doable if you are careful.
We stayed at a huge parking area at the foot of the mountains. The fee for 24 hours is very low, it was CHF 5 in 2024.
The parking guard will check if you park close to the other campers, so you have to!!
The mountain restaurant on our thumbnail is also on the cover of National Geographic's book "Destinations of a Lifetime, 225 of the World's Most Amazing Places" from 2015.

Remarkable location for any buildings let alone a restaurant ! Wonderful scenery and trails and thanks for sharing this one which may be a hike too far for us. Love the goats 😁

The Aescher Berggasthaus offers overnight stays in different rooms: double, triple and rooms for upto 12 persons. AND rock side sleeping!!! Have a look at their homepage (find it in the video description).
