The Salamander Exercise from Stanley Rosenberg is great for a stiff neck or tension headaches. It's also great for whiplash and other forms of back and neck trauma
Ok so this exercise has changed my life! When I finish the exercise I do feel dizzy but it only lasts seconds. I started doing the exercise for a stiff neck and it did start to ease it but SOMETHING ELSE HAPPENED! From a baby I have suffered with severe constipation and it has had such a huge impact on my life. Since doing just this exercise alone my tummy now works like clockwork! I am amazed Rene and this only took about a week for me to realise that my tummy issues were so much easier and the only thing I had changed in my life was doing this exercise twice a day, morning and evening. Who would have thought this exercise could do this. I didn’t even do it for that I did it for a stiff neck 😂😂😂❤ Mind blown 🤯
Hi from the Netherlands, in the middle of the night 😊. I think your 2 different specialisations combined are so valuable as body and mind always go together! I've got an overly sensitive nervous system and constant pain and stiffness in my neck and shoulders. Now I'm going to try to sleep, but definitely doing the salamander tomorrow. Thank you 🙏❤️
Thank you Renee! I have been doing this exercise 3 times a day and noticed how much more easfull I have been. It's been super uncomfortable and my neck was cranching and twisting in unimaginable ways. So I only did one time each side. It is OK to hear so much wrenching noise inside the neck? I was able to breathe through it though. And one last question :could you do this exercise if you have a cold? The cold usually affects my neck.. Thank you!
Elena.. what you did here is perfect. Let the breath guide you through, your neck is working things through it and out , as long as there’s no lasting pain after you do it, I think that’s a great sign and keep respectfully going! I also think it’s really good to do it when you have a cold… Most of the time we want to stop everything all together and that isn’t usually helpful. Movement is medicine and we may need to adjust the dosage when we’re sick but I think keeping things moving as you feel called to is important.
Hi this exercise really works to relax me, but the main response from my body is to twitch quite strongly along with a deep soothing breath or sigh, have you witnessed this twitching and is it ok for me?
I would advise you to run experiments on your own body, test, something meaningful to you before and after and see what works. And then keep doing that until it doesn’t work for you anymore! 🙂😊

What beautiful and credible evidence that Healing Happens!! :-D
This is so fascinating! It reminds me of the yogic concept of "drishti" (gaze) that's a part of each asana. Very cool, thank you!
Amazing! Thankyou Sifu!
That's amazing.. thanks a lot! You are changing life's here!
Mr. Noir.. thank you, that is lovely to read and I appreciate you taking the time to say so 😊🙏🏼

No problem!
Where should I look for the other stretches? The example has us looking down to the floor for the ear stretches.
Thank you Renee!

You look like Freya from the game "God of War: Ragnarok". I'm going to share this with my sister to see if it helps her stress.
That’s awesome 🤩 thanks so much!
I get reaction only when the eyes are in same direction with the shoulder

That’s a wonderful response! Twitching is great… An indicator of Deep releasing in your neuromuscular system🙏🏼🌱😇
Great thank you so much for the reply.@@nervoussystemninja
Hi Renee!
Does this exercise replace the traditional neck exercises the osteopath "prescribes"?
Thanks

@@nervoussystemninja thank you Renee!
You’re welcome! Happy to help.. let us know how things go, Elena Wilmott!
isnt this the half salamander?
Paul George, I am guessing you're referencing Stanley Rosenberg's book (to whom I am so grateful for!) and his language?
