Wishing the interviewer would have let Steven finish his sentences on fertilizer and culture. The other video is only repot- not culture/fertilizer! I had to rewind a couple of times to hear Steven clearly... wry interesting material, great quality AV equipment & use of technology. Thanks for the effort and combined knowledge. Looking forward to more from you! ✨🌱🥰
Charla, the interruptions were due to a lag in the audio, very frustrating! We will get together soon and discuss end-of-growing-season Catasetum culture!
Not at all. The ants eat the sugary liquid excreted by the leaves and flowers. As a side benefit, ants will attack many larger insects that land on the plant. The drawback is that they will not attack mealybugs, aphids, or scale.
Yay a catasetum video. Thank you 🙏🏻.
They are such cool plants.

My Green Pets great news...thanks
Question, one of my Cat. Has ants. The ants love it. I pick them off. Do they hurt the plant.

@@MyGreenPets Thank you and I will let them be.
Just here to casually check out my challenger... :p It does seem like your pbulb will be larger than mine is!
Haha, yes, it's so much bigger this year than it has ever been. So I am really wondering if it can put out a serious spike with lots of flowers.
Question for Stephen. .. do you still water clowesias if they flower in winter or stop watering as soon as they become dormant?
Orchie Dee Definitely stop watering when dormant. The bulbs hold enough energy for blooming during the dormant period.
Stephen Van Kampen-Lewis thank you! It's the middle of winter here and I found a small nub at the base of my clowesia grace Dunn so 🤞🏼🤞🏼
Growing my Catasetums in self-watering pots and see some success... Wish I could post pictures on here.
You can post links!
