I liked hearing stephen's thoughts on using reddish discolouration on the leaves of cattleya seedlings to kind of gauge how reddish they will be compared to their siblings. That's a pretty neat idea!
I have Cattleyas mounted. Every time you repot catts it kills roots and sets back the plant. More roots equal more available nutrition. I never disturb the roots.
