  • In this video, I replace an old rusty baseboard heat enclosure. I am remodeled this small bathroom and this was actually something that was not going to be replaced but after seeing new flooring and trim go in, it was looking discolored and kind of gross. It ended up being an easier project than expected and it made a better impression on the room overall.

I did that kind of crap for 36 years. One of my consistent pains in the butt was those hot water baseboards
Thank you for helping me enjoy my retirement 🙂👍

My baseboard heating elements were installed 60 years ago and look every inch of that. Thanks for this very timely video. I'll replace mine in the next month.

The outtakes must have been sanitised considerably 😂😂 I’m sure there was a lot of ‘bad’ words used getting the old brackets and backing out 😜

I’ll probably never have to do that because I don’t want to live in the miserable cold like you crazy people but I still enjoy watching you fix things. You made that bathroom so much nicer for them.

Nice job! FYI, instead of putting pencil marks on walls that have to be cleaned up, I use small piece of masking tape over studs....mark the tape and remove the tape leaving clean walls.

In Texas we tend to have heat and ac coming out of a vent that is screwed on the wall near the ceiling. If I had to deal with that wretched clamping thingie, you would have found me lying on the bathroom floor sobbing! Good editing. 😺

We left the bedrooms and kitchen baseboard heaters from 1978 when we upgraded to a geothermal system in 2002. No rust and handy a couple of winters ago when the GEO system failed and we had to rely on the baseboard heaters for a winter! Our electric bill was sky high that winter.

The house I grew up in had that style of heat, but I never saw it afterwards until decades later. I had honestly thought it had just gone completely out of fashion and nobody used it any longer since I never saw it on new construction.

Thank you for this video. I have a baseboard in my bathroom that I have tried to get off it is truly disgusting. Now I see why I can’t get it off…the bottom edge is under the ceramic tile that was installed so I don’t want to break the tile and I am in a pickle as to what to do and how to remove this. UGH
