Its perfectly fine if not!! I really enjoyed the video. I like the insight of seeing what its like to be you! Its cool :)
Researched some of this. UPS and FEDEX pay more than USPS. And UPS pays most ot seems, although it depends on where you are in the company. In order to become a driver, you really need to be with the company for a while, they dont hire people off the street. The very top drivers in UPS earn around 95,000 USD a year, FedEx I've seen around maybe 60,000 or 70,000 at the tops, although at the very top like high 70s. I would search it up for more details, but this is what I have from what I have seen, and may not be fully accurate.
FedEx express courier pay varies by area, but generally speaking it’s around $20 an hour give or take to start. My station started off couriers at 20.45 an hour. After a year of service I was bumped up to 21.62. Raises happen annually at express typically within a dollar. Full time UPS drivers start off at $21 an hour with a 4 year progression to top rate. Top rate for full time UPS drivers is $39.xx. While FedEx express offered somewhat decent benefits, the benefits at UPS are unmatched, along with a pension plan. Generally speaking with the small annual raises at FedEx, it takes about 20 plus years to reach top rate, where at UPS it’s a 4 year progression. With that being said you have to start off as a part time handler at UPS and gain enough seniority to bid on a driver position. Some centers it can take several years while at others it can take 6 months or even hiring off the street. The biggest difference between UPS and express was the workload. Expect 60 hour work weeks as the norm while delivering for UPS with lots of heavy and awkward packages. Your truck will be loaded from top to bottom/front to back daily, especially when your low on the seniority list. The pay is excellent and the benefits are top notch but you WILL earn every penny that they pay you. A top rate UPS driver can clear 100k a year easily with the OT. You won’t get rich at FedEx express by any means or have great benefits but the workload was night and day when compared to UPS. Managers generally treated people a lot better at Express and I wasn’t in a mad dash to get stuff done right away. Not to mention heavy and awkward packages were far and few in between. Both jobs are good in my opinion with pros and cons. If you are a hard worker and want to make this kind of job a career, I would pick UPS because of the pay and benefits. If you want a more relaxed day and have more time with family at the house with less wear and tear on your body I would choose express.
Fedex express hired drivers with no previous experience. They hired people i know who worked at a bank previously and they were trained and learned how to drive the trucks and do the job very quickly. No need to be a package handler for months to years first with express. And a lot of your packages are envelopes and light small boxes. Rarely do you have a big heavy item. Meanwhile, the UPS guy is loading his truck full of massive heavy boxes grouped with 25 others. So that's the main difference in workload and experience.
@@willlima1297 True, but the difference is that a full time UPS driver makes $40 an hour with a pension and top tier benefits with union protection. Work hard and make a lot of money go UPS. Easier work, half the money go express.
@@beezymeech dang. I've been doing close to 80 to 90 stops driving 200 plus miles. Takes me close to 10 hours to finish. That's including a 30 mins break. I'm in Syracuse NY.
this shows how bad these trucks are, having to climb in/out all day long, it's just stupid, and having to find packages in the back, and those dumb scanners are stupid, too many buttons and you have to hold it in one hand while carry packages. I drive for fedex ground, so inefficient, amazon with transit vans are even worse.
there were some vehicles at the medford express station that were almost 30 years old. but they worked fine. i actually prefer the older diesel trucks to deliver in. they are very reliable. no AC. but it just depends on how old the station is. the station I transferred to in September had newer vehicles, but they weren't the box truck 700s. they were rental vans. they had AC but were very uncomfortable to be in.
sure but this really isn't supposed to be a how to, or training video. in fact, there is no "voice over" speaking during this video because I wanted the experience to speak for itself. every station is different, and only by becoming part of the team do you truly learn what it takes to work there.
I quit for a ton of reasons. It just wasn't something I wanted to do for a long time. My dream is to make videos and one day make movies. I actually moved towns and am doing videography work for churches/businesses now.
when i worked there it ranged from 110-80-50 stops depending on the time of year and route, and the mileage varied from 250-100-50 depending on the route and day. some routes were long mileage and few stops, some were town routes with high stops but not much driving. i was a swing.
well if you notice i dont include any footage from the station. there were a bunch of boomers there. i would suggest keeping it as low key as possible. i never had a problem about this, but i didnt ask and i took the gopro off before coming back.
I don't know bro I was a swing when I worked there. That route at that time of year was probably 80-90. Less rural routes could have 120 or more. Around Christmas two loads of 100.

I’m trying to transfer from Amazon over to FedEx. How many stops do you usually do when you first start compared to a usual day?.
They give you a light load for sure when you first start. You start doing about 80- 120 depending on the area.
I'm fedex ground so I'm always curious about the difference, how many stops? How many packages? Paid per hour or per day?
I was getting paid almost 19/hr and 28/h OT after 8 hrs and I was a swing so sometimes 40 stops but 200 miles or 40 miles and 120 stops
@@beezymeech dang. I've been doing close to 80 to 90 stops driving 200 plus miles. Takes me close to 10 hours to finish. That's including a 30 mins break. I'm in Syracuse NY.
I've been with Express fro about 8 yrs. Get $ 30.59 per hour. Do about 80 stops per day. Great company to work for IMO
Does express offer CDL training?
@@Christianmendez-ig8xg yes
this shows how bad these trucks are, having to climb in/out all day long, it's just stupid, and having to find packages in the back, and those dumb scanners are stupid, too many buttons and you have to hold it in one hand while carry packages. I drive for fedex ground, so inefficient, amazon with transit vans are even worse.
I love this video. My life in a nutshell lmao. 😎👍🏼
I wish I did this on every swing route. this one was one of the best ones.
Is this in Ashland?
yes!
@@beezymeech crazy! I'm a UPS driver in yreka. But I go up to Ashland and Medford all the time. You still a driver up there?
So are the vehicles at express in better condition than ground/home delivery? Some contractors are really cheap as in dirty dash ductape camer mounts
there were some vehicles at the medford express station that were almost 30 years old. but they worked fine. i actually prefer the older diesel trucks to deliver in. they are very reliable. no AC. but it just depends on how old the station is.
the station I transferred to in September had newer vehicles, but they weren't the box truck 700s. they were rental vans. they had AC but were very uncomfortable to be in.
It was difficult to follow not knowing the steps to take
sure but this really isn't supposed to be a how to, or training video. in fact, there is no "voice over" speaking during this video because I wanted the experience to speak for itself. every station is different, and only by becoming part of the team do you truly learn what it takes to work there.
Why you quit man? And what do you do now?
I quit for a ton of reasons. It just wasn't something I wanted to do for a long time. My dream is to make videos and one day make movies. I actually moved towns and am doing videography work for churches/businesses now.
What’s your average stop count and mileage per day?
when i worked there it ranged from 110-80-50 stops depending on the time of year and route, and the mileage varied from 250-100-50 depending on the route and day. some routes were long mileage and few stops, some were town routes with high stops but not much driving. i was a swing.
Great video

yes
Did they give you any problem about this? I’d love to do the same thing but I don’t wanna get my balls broken about it… express courier in NYC
well if you notice i dont include any footage from the station. there were a bunch of boomers there. i would suggest keeping it as low key as possible. i never had a problem about this, but i didnt ask and i took the gopro off before coming back.
@@beezymeech those miserable boomers lol
How many stops did you have bro ?
I don't know bro I was a swing when I worked there. That route at that time of year was probably 80-90. Less rural routes could have 120 or more. Around Christmas two loads of 100.
