Great job. Great tune. Those of you dissing the vocals, c’mon really? Look how young she is. To play and sing that song is not easy. She did great. If that was my daughter, I’d be very proud.....and thrilled that she even likes Ghost!
@@Bobzilla67 I actually like Ghost, but agree. Forge' voice is a bit thin and there's not much power there. This cover still doesn't sound good though.
These are a group of young adults who put forth an amazing effort on a great cover. Papa sets the bar pretty damn high -- can't expect many people to measure up perfectly to him. The complexion of his vocals is in a league all its own. With that considered, the vocals were fine, especially considering she was also playing at the same time. Not many people can do what she did, especially the purists in the comments section ;) Nailed the guitar work very impressively, especially on the solo. Great work!
"the vocals were fine, especially considering she was also playing at the same time" - John Lennon - Paul McCartney - Kurt Cobain - Chris Cornell - Joan Jett - Ann Wilson - James Hetfield - Troy Sanders - Dave Grohl - Lemmy - Billy Corgan It takes just a little tiny bit of practice and if you're already able to play guitar, you'll be able to do this too.
Yeah, the instruments were pretty good, but part of the appeal of the song, at least for me, is the layered vocals. Without them, the chorus loses its impact.
I'm a multi instrumental metal/Punk Dude since the 80's , I'm in my early 40's now and still play and I have to say these kids have potential . Any shortcomings they may have can be worked on but to see REAL KIDS playing FOR REAL at this level is Awesome, I know adults in bands that can't get it together and when a group of young people work on any production as a team and have a end product that truly deserves applause!!!
These kids got a future. Lead singer need to work on her vocals, she sounds a bit flat. And not meant as a dis, they're young. They got plenty of time. Overall sounded great and get a thumbs up. But Papas vocals have more emotion, musically, great cover. Vocally, needs some work. Not a lot, just some more inflection.
I find her vocal rendition to be better than Ghost's on this song. She gave it a punk vibe, which I'm very much enjoying. The change of the placement of the lyrics has me disappointed, though.
Ari Tapper: "I think she is running a bit short on energy, she sounds almost uninterested to me." I completely disagree. If you listen without the video you might get a different vibe. I think she might be somewhat camera shy and her demeanor is getting in the way of her vocals for you. The disinterest, I think, comes from the presence of the camera, and the video.
I agree with Ari and Lance I'm not even sure how you got a punk vibe from her vocals. But I did think about the fact that she's playing the base line AND singing. But she really does sound flat to me. But lance, what lyrics did she trade places?
Part of posting yourself on the internet is you have to deal with people who can say what they want and hide behind their phone, tablet, or computer. It’s changed the way we talk to other humans and it brings out the hate people have that they wouldn’t otherwise express... in person. It’s a shame that people have to be hateful here... especially with such young artists. These kids are fantastic. They have amazing skills. Her voice is young and amazing... it will change and progress as she gets older, along with the smoothness of the instrumental. The more you play and sing, the more you find your true voice and music. She’s got great control and is on key... her range and emotion will only get better with time. The more you play, the more you learn. I can’t wait to see these kids in about 3 to 5 years as they gain experience and find that “live entertainment” aspect. Get crazy on stage and make people FEEL the songs and not just hear it! GREAT JOB!!! PLEASE KEEP ROCKIN AND DON’T GET DISCOURAGED BY ASSHOLES THAT TYPE STUPID SHIT!!!!
I don't care what anyone says. These kids are AWESOME. People complaining that the singer is off need to understand that she's a young kid. She's still got plenty of time to develop her singing voice.
Great cover. I know a lot of people are harping on the singing. Keep in mind guys, these are kids. They're still learning. That being said, if you kids see these comments: Don't let the hate get to you. You guys are doing good and growing. It takes time and no body starts off as rock gods. With me saying this, just a bit of advice: When you sing, sing with passion. Even if its a song you don't like or enjoy, sing as if you love the song. It gives the song more melody and feel.
That brings me back to the days of my youth except I was always the young guy in bands. Maybe if I'd found some kids my age, I could've been playing more Entombed and less Alice in Chains.
You can't even compare them, different styles of music... that's like trying to compare Spice Girls & Metallica, you can't! Both are great in their genres. :]
Excellent cover! Singer did a great job. She's young.....with time and more life experience, her confidence will grow and the energy and attitude will flow. The bandmates are excellent also! Keep ROCKIN!
Really nailed this cover. Love the cinematography and that the singer is playing an instrument while doing vocals - that's true talent! I disagree about the voice, I think it's good and in the spirit and even pitch of the song - it has a certain tonality that carries just right in my opinion. I say everyone involved should be really pleased with this effort, they did a great job from instruments to photography and everywhere in between.
You're welcome. I call it as I see it. I miss the days of vocalists who could handle an instrument at the same time. She nails them both, from where I sit. I think that she does the vocals justice and everyone else should be proud because this is a really well-executed set of visuals and it tracks up against the audio pretty much perfectly. Respect is due!
I think she sounds pretty FLAT but the music is great. Maybe try a male singer next time who has more vocal range. Ghosts actual singer has amazing range.
She lends a punk vibe to this song, which I find to be splendid! I feel it's way better than Ghost's. She messed up the structure of the lyrics in the chorus, though, for at the beginning where she should sing "swear" she accidentally sings "stand". And vice-versa for the chorus's end. It's amazing, though. Jason Olsen: "I miss the days of vocalists who could handle an instrument at the same time." You mean the days of The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, AC/DC and Black Sabbath?
Agreed. Musically they pretty much nailed it minus some keyboard. But the vocals need work. Her voice isn’t really that bad, her delivery is just emotionless. She could do better with some enthusiasm
The reason that was added to their name was because when they went to tour the US there was another group called ghost so they added BC, but they are just ghost.
Short version: this is very friggin' good, and I would jam with these kids in a heartbeat. Somewhat longer version: I give this 7/10. The music was damn near bulletproof, and all of the performers were engaging and interesting to watch. Swapping swear and stand during the chorus was disappointing, but I can understand if perhaps the bassist/vocalist's parents didn't want her to "swear before the devil". Still, it took away from the song a bit. The final critiques are for the vocals. The lack of harmonies was keenly felt, although I'm not entirely sure if Ghost themselves actually sing them live or use backing tracks. Nevertheless, it took a little away from the song. Lastly, I felt that the bassist/vocalist could have attacked the vocals with more vigor, but I think the way she personalized the melody shows that she will soon be a pretty bad-ass singer. Which is to say I think any perceived vocal weakness is a matter of inexperience rather than a lack of talent. She's got loads of talent, as does the entire band. If music makes y'all happy, then pursue it just as hard as you can. Waiting until you're a middle-aged fart like me before you get a record deal and start touring is okay (I mean, I'm still out playing music and selling records), but these youngsters could very well get a 20 year head start and have long, fulfilling, and bad-ass music careers. Keep going. Keep going. Keep going. Give it hell, y'all.
I disagree on the vocalist's voice. I enjoy her's more than Ghost's. For this song, that is. I feel there's a punk vibe to it, which I really thought made it much more risky. I agree, however, with you on their decision to change the lyrics. It just feels wrong. Other than that, I feel it's a more complete than what Ghost did.
I see this cover as excellent everywhere except the vocal performance and the video performance itself. Vocally I agree, talent is there and that's no doubt. But she delivered the melodies so bland and cut off a lot of notes which detracted from this for me. I also agree with you on the lack of vocal harmonies. That song's harmonies were badass and what made that chorus the catchy monster it was, which leads me into the video itself. So they kept the keys as a nice touch, but no one's playing them in the video. Even if you fake it, at least show someone on a keyboard at that part to make it feel more authentic. Another thing is that half the band is looking at the camera/up from their instrument. I get it their young and to that I'll cut them some slack, but look up every once in a while. I want to see the performer getting into the show and the energy of the song, not just standing there looking at their instrument like it's their newborn child. Besides those very picky but subtle details, I agree, this is an awesome cover and I too would love to jam with them sometime.
Very promising cover kids, well done. You can adjust your volume level better to give the kick that chorus needs, eg. volume a bit down in verses and higher volume in chorus and solo (guitar specific)
Nothing like being a kid and jamming with your friends. My buddy Zack had the drums and I had the guitar. Our first song (no singer) was BLUR - SONG 2. We felt like frickin Rock Stars haha Still play the guitar. Great solo and outro, well played youngsters. Everyone did great, good job. I learned Square hammer and a few other ghosts songs. The drop tuning riffs are fun to play. I like Miasma haha no singer.

That's shitty mixing for you... clearly they were of the Lars school of mixing... turn the bass down until you can't quite hear it, then turn it down another 3dB!
1st of all; she's not "emotionless", "flat", or "terrible". That's the way she's modifying the song so it's not a lip sync of Papa Emeritus himself. They must add a little bit of their own character to personalize the cover. 2nd; it's odd and hard to get into how the guys appear to be jamming away like they are, while the 'girls' (near-women) are so calm & cool. Reminds me of Morgan Lander doing "Funeral for Yesterday" (in the official video). 3rd, considering their age - if they stay together as a band - they could easily be a true power band in 5 years! Think a co-ed Kiss. I have high hopes that they can make it - the potentials there, is the opportunity?
Music was great the vocalist could use more work. Way too nasaly and bland. Definitely don't feel the attitude, like you can with the guitarist. Seems like she really was rather unhappy to be singing the song
ghost are using click-tracks and backing tracks for tobias' harmonies at every live show.!! this is why they are so tight in live environments but it takes away the real 'live' atmosphere. got nothing to do with autotune, just wanted to mention...
very good work...I bet this Video will get like 50k+ Views...because is it by faaaaar the best Cover as I said...keep going on the good...like to find new good bands!! Where u from?
TheDonkeyFLOPPER: "Chill out dude. It was ok at best" There's no need for someone to chill out, dude. This song's vibe, pun intended, is so much better than what Ghost gave it. The singer gives it a punk feel, which I find has merit.
I feel they should ditch your comment, because I think her voice suits this song more than Ghost's singer's did. She gave it a punk vibe, which I think works better.
God bless Ghost for inspiring kids to play rock music!!

Rightly pointed out
Again music spot on. Vocals need some emotion. Put some feeling in those lyrics girl. You got some potential. Feel it.

I have high hopes that they can make it - the potentials there, is the opportunity?
damn right!
Awsome, but not realy as energetic as the original... if it’s how they like it, that cool for them, but I’m not fan of that
They're little kids. They'll get better. Good on them for being able to get to this level at their ages.
Very cool. Spot on keep it up
Todo esta bien solo ponle un poco mas de ritmo a como cantas por que suena muy apagado....
I can hear my old music teacher screaming YOURE FLAT!! lol
Music was great the vocalist could use more work. Way too nasaly and bland. Definitely don't feel the attitude, like you can with the guitarist. Seems like she really was rather unhappy to be singing the song
I got that vibe too, like she wasn't in it at all. She needs way more energy, farther from the mic too so she can really expand her voice.
Agreed, too nasally and bland. Maybe she needs to get that shit out of her nose?
Awesome job guys!! Keep playing and growing and improving! Great sound and style..jus awesome!!
This is why you don't start a band your girlfriend
SomeGuyFromStPaul thats their sister
This is why you don't start a band with your sister...
BAHAHAHAHAHAHA
She's not bad, only need to be more emotive, but has a great pitch accuracy. But damm, she has about 15-16, and has a lot of time to improve
what about halestorm?
She sings amazing. They absolutely rock
Good job guys might be able to have a jam session with us
This is FANTASTIC!
The auto tune hurts my ears!
You say these words, but I'm not sure you know what they mean.
Real band heavily uses autotune and background vocals now. Basically sings over studio recording of himself the entire concert
LOL, no POP bands use it reg. Metal bands DO NOT.
ghost are using click-tracks and backing tracks for tobias' harmonies at every live show.!! this is why they are so tight in live environments but it takes away the real 'live' atmosphere. got nothing to do with autotune, just wanted to mention...
Andy Stojek - nope, a lot of metal bands use it.!!
I been singing and playing Bass for almost 40 Years, you have been given a great Gift.
I love it. Awesome cover.
Keep shredding.
Horns High

"Chill out dude. It was ok at best"
There's no need for someone to chill out, dude. This song's vibe, pun intended, is so much better than what Ghost gave it. The singer gives it a punk feel, which I find has merit.
Lance Lust are you high?
I love most Ghost songs and I have always wanted to hear a female sing the song. They all do great and its pretty hot. Good job!
Amazing!
thanks!
Fantastic job!!!
I'm so impressed by this cover at such a young age ! u owned a french fan ! !
Great Cover music wise. Ditch the singer and you guys got some serious potential
Ryan M her voice lifeless af
Tyreek Murillo shes like an Amy Lee with downs
Ryan M i can’t wake up inside now 😂
Tyreek Murillo 😂
I feel they should ditch your comment, because I think her voice suits this song more than Ghost's singer's did. She gave it a punk vibe, which I think works better.
This bunch of kids kick ass! She's got a great voice! Thanks for this amazing cover! Keep it up!
I was interested until she started singing.
What's the problem?
Talented kids. Love it!
great music, but voice is weak and sounds boring. sorry, but it's true.
Awesome cover ! This song rocks! Yas look young keep up the great work!! Practice practice!

Cool👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
To everyone saying her voice is bad: I think she just needs to work to make it more powerful, but the talent is there :)
These kids rock tf out!!!
What a beautifull girl ! Congratulations for making rock n roll.
I've never seen a woman with grey/blue eyes before. Are those contacts?
