You are incredibly talented, not only as a guitarist but also with your tasteful sound ideas. And I really like it when your videos are a little less excited. Like this one. Thank you very much for your great work and I am looking forward to everything that will come. Greetings from Stuttgart
He’s highly spirited , young and energetic. I love that . He’ll of a player , nice guy . These jam pedals are something . Expensive but you’ll only buy it once . I’m looking at selling my pedals and going to five pedals only .
I really like how you describe your settings. Instead of saying "around 4 oclock" you say "i want it to go DA-Da-da-da". Teaches people to tweak with their ears instead of their eyes.
Nice job... real nice job👍. You covered the needs of 90% of us (nice pedal too!). The most complicated delay I’ve used is the old DL4, or maybe a Strymon Brigadier. Don’t feel a “need” for more on a daily basis. And usually a 3 knob analog does fine - for the reasons you just just showed us👍😄.
I’ll take the simplicity! I have the Delay Llama, and almost upgraded to an Xtreme, but decided it would take too much focus away from playing, so I stuck with the standard llama. I was also happy to see that we both seem to enjoy the same settings! 😊
I have an analog delay as my main delay, and I have a clinically clean boss DD3 behind it if I want MOAR space. Main delay is set up pretty short with quite some repeats and modulation, pink floyd inspired. (But it has a tap tempo yay) Also I have my phaser at the end of this chain (unlike Eddy who starts off with it) so I can have each repeat hit a different part of the wave in the phaser :) sounds really nice. Am going to get a matthews astronomer v2 to put between my analog and digital delay!
i use the llama its great! i just need to practice with delay but the llama retains your tone very well wich is more important to me than anything else in a delay llama rules! so does jlj!
I want one just because it has the best delay pedal name...ever...Delay Llama...it reminds me of my experiences in Peru with my wife...and of course...it also looks and sounds fantastic! Thanks Jay! You Rock! 😎🎸🤘🐦
Hi Jay! I love your videos and your approach to playing/instructing, awesome stuff! How does this Delay Llama compare to an MXR Carbon Copy? (Besides having a sweet name and cool Llama on it)
Great video.... just noticed the new (?) logo... sweet.... really appreciated this video, with all the options in modern delays, it’s nice to get examples of settings like these.
Hi Jay, this incredible sound you have around 4:10 and 4:44 keeps hanging in my head. It is so awesome! Could you please tell me what overdrive you used next to the delay?
Great video as always... the new Friedman sounds fantastic, esp on the 2nd tune. I'm a simple delay fan. My fav is the Caroline Kilobyte. The Delay Lama sounds nice and warm. Who doesn't like Lamas?!
On your pedal the one that is labled "T " would equate to which knob on my Berhinger VD 400 Delay pedal. Every manufucturer lables the knobs differently. My pedal has Repeat rate, Intensity and Echo. Thank you.
I’m perfectly happy with the simple, mono delays. Boss RV-3 Digital Reverb/Delay and PS-3 Pitch Shifter/Delay are on my board. I also have Caroline Guitar’s Kilobyte, for the simple and different options it offers. If- WHEN!!😂- I step into the digital delay world, I’ll probably start with the new Boss DD-200. You RocK iT, JLeonardJ!!! Peace
I sent back a catlinbread echorec because the repeats just sound fake . All f the pt2399 pedals sound the same . Yes you e better ff with a bbd based delay in combination with a digital delay eg boss dd8 for longer repeats . Covers all bases
@@okaytastic6691 Hey thanks man - that looks and sounds fantastic, albeit pricey. I've been using an Empress Tape Delay with 3 presets. It's great but I can't say I'm 100% happy with the sound.
Delay Llama Xtreme is exactly what you want. Digitally controlling the analogue circuit you can save 4 presets, tap tempo, modulation effects etc. A really great pedal
Thanks for your video and your great playing as usual 👍. I myself prefers simplicity. I use a wampler faux tape echo mk1 without tap tempo: the modulation in the repeats is a nice bonus. Keep coming your vids, I like them a lot. Cheers from France.
@@JayLeonardJ that's interesting. I recently had my Telecaster given a service and they returned it to me with the bridge on backwards. Changing the strings on a bigsby is so frustrating that I hadn't changed it back yet. Interesting that you prefer it that way.

Jam Llama sounds really nice, analogue mellow but with clarity - good demo, thanks!
So happy to see JayLJ get this dialed in. I needed help big time.
Jay is an incredible guitarist. Your control over the tone is amazing. Eye opening experience.
You definitely deserve more subscribers, my man
Appreciate it!

Your rhythm playing is top notch for real
Great tones and very useful for reference! Thanks JLJ!

Mine came in the mail on day one of the lockdown. I’m so glad! Jam Pedals are among the best .you can find!
Big fan of your posts! Love your playin!
I like about 345ms with maybe 3 repeats mixed just under 40% or so 🤘🏽
Simplicity all the way. Sounds terrific
Fantastic demo!
Brilliant episode! Loved your creativity and how you utilised the Jam pedal.
Such a useful video, thanks for this!
Great demo Jay. I prefer the simplicity of an analog delay. just little repeat for some reverb type sounds on all the time. thanks for this.

Hi Jay! I love your videos and your approach to playing/instructing, awesome stuff!
How does this Delay Llama compare to an MXR Carbon Copy? (Besides having a sweet name and cool Llama on it)
Carbon changes your dry tone a little bit more and it has that modulation aspect of it. I think of the Delay Llama as a modern DM-2 :)

@@JayLeonardJ Thank you.
Which setting were you using during the intro? Thats a super usable tone! Great playing btw!
I like to mark it with dots for timing 120 bpm 240 etc
Great video (as always). Have you refinished your tele or do you have a new toy?
Haha, I've had that guitar even longer than my Blue one :) Watch the story of my 1968 Tele here: ua-cam.com/video/qG6BHRRKDRE/v-deo.html
What amp are you using? Sweet and spongy!
Sounds great 👍 Might have to get one to replace my Ibanez AD9 plus the Jam doesn't seem to color the tone as much Good stuff J

Love the delays, but that Strat wow.
Jay,
What fuzz are you using in this video?. Some sort of Big Muff?.
The Engl Fuzzhead :)
I love the simple pt2399 delays. Amazing inexpensive chip designed for karaoke machines....works so well for guitar...
This is an analog bbd chip delay not pt2399.
@@mikethomas6120 yes.

That is a nice shirt you are wearing.
Destroyer of citys Duck it’s from the pedal brand - you can buy on the jampedals website in case ;)
Not to be confused with "Delay Lama" The greatest VST ever made!
What's the best pedal like this that has presets? I want sounds like this but I want about 3 -4 delays that I can access one at a time with my foot.
Ardx20 with amazeo from analogman isn’t the same sound but it’s an analog delay with presets.

Forgive me if I'm wrong, but is the bridge on your telecaster on backwards?
Yup, easier to intonate that way :)

Delay is amazing once you find that right level and get it to sit in the mix. Sounds like a mess until then.
You really missed your chance to say “No Probllama” in the cover
