I agree, as a drummer it’s clear that he actually has some decent percussion experience. He’s playing everything perfectly. And the engineer or whoever is playing the drums while he imitates it is also impressive. He’s not simply playing to a recording, there’s someone playing all of it live

They used to show this special on Comedy Central way back when. There were live versions of Mr. Bean sketches in there, but most of it was standalone stuff. Very funny stuff. Just look up Rowan Atkinson live, and you’ll find it.
There were mistakes, including actuating the pedal even when no more kicks were to be played. 3:58, before the drumsolo, for the most egregious flub. Still a good performance. But not impeccable.

I love every Mr Bean skit that I see. When my son was little he and I were flipping some TV channels and we saw Bean doing a skit on "Mr. Bean Goes to Church." My son was probably only five or six and I was in my 30's and we got the same amount of joy watching it. Mr Bean's comedy is timeless.🤭

From what I've seen elsewhere in the comments, it seems Rowan Atkinson actually knows how to play drums. So they're saying it's more likely that this was written and pre-recorded by him and so he would naturally have the timing down. Also, I'm pretty sure that's his voice coming from the invisible cat from the end, and that makes this idea seem even more likely IMO.
