This video is what got me into beatboxing 10 years ago. I used to be insecure about the gap between my front teeth, but because of Tom it’s become the best instrument in my toolkit and that’s something I hope to thank him for in person someday

I think this is genuinely one of the best presentation about beatbox of all time, especially to people who are not familiar with it.
He made it simple, lighthearted & funny but at the same time showcase how complex the art of beatboxing is in the most relatable & enjoyable way possible (aka the journey across the world segment).
Was blown away when i first watched this 8 years ago, still blown away in 2022

No matter how often I come back to this vid over the years his talent in mixing his voice for all the different sounds at once is still amazing...and the last "Jazz bar" bit is just a treat, especially if you've ever heard the instruments he's mimicking personally like I have from when I was in band for a couple years back in high school...they are REAL good imitations for a human voice.

For the people who aren't familiriazed with the beatbox community, I'd like to inform that high level beatboxers like Tom Thum, don't let their mouths make contact with the microphone or spit on it, at any given moment. The microphone stays dry, mainly because they are blocking the mouth and the saliva with their hands, thus, preventing the touch between mouth and microphone.

Alprimez it’s TEDx not TEDTalks and they sometimes have some sort of music or performance. I’ve been to a couple TEDx and saw a few performances. They’re usually pretty out there.
The "real TED" also has (or used to at least) some purely entertaining acts, that's what the E stands for after all. Entertainment.
I stopped following them when they started being way too political though, that was never really the point of them back in the day.
