  • Hey guys, found some problems with the race car - so I bought the Autool CT200 injector cleaner and went to town. Got all the injectors cleaned up, and the race car is going back together!

I have the 150 machine for 4 injectors. I have ID 2000cc and i notice same thing with the pressure drop. I was told my ID to Backflow them with gasoline and ultrasonic clean them.. I also add some seafoam in the mix.. Seems to work very well!! In the future i may rig an external reservoir and a higher volume pump and a filter to help with the big injectors.. I have had sticking issues with my injectors before, had to send them off to have cleaned... for $300 this machine works pretty good! Gives you something to measure off of as a relative number to each injector! I also learned to NOT use carb cleaner on injectors, it make one of mine lock the poppet up. Had to blow air back thru the injector to break it loose.. brake cleaner is ok tho.
There's my 2 cents!! Love the video!!

I also have the 150, definitely doesn't hang with large injectors. I can see it being useful if I need to clean them in the future from using e85. I plan on running normal gasoline most of the time so may not need to though.

I just got the 4 injector version, CT150. Interesting there is no traditional fuel pressure regulator with the system. The fuel pump is plumbed right to the fuel rail. I've taken it apart to see how it works. The computer modulates the current going to the fuel pump to set a fuel pressure. Default is 50% duty cycle. The "+" and "-" keys are used to increase or decrease the fuel pressure, while it is running, by essentially increasing or decreasing the fuel pump speed. Running (4) 80lb siemens injectors, at the high speed setting (3.1 ms, 7500 rpm) it can almost maintain 45 psi. I need to add a fluid filled pressure gauge to dampen the oscillations. FYI, there are 2 injector drivers that are out of phase with each other, like bank1 and bank2 injector drives. So at any given time, 2 injectors fire at the same time. This helps minimize fuel rail pressure oscillations, but not as good if it were fully sequential.

You are ASSuming a lot of things. The video wasn't about fully cleaning the injectors, rather it was about finding which ones were culprit with the problem I was experiencing. The first car, if you must know, was a brand new build. Only dyno time on everything before it was disassembled and moved over to this car. Both cars have a 100 micron fuel filter before pumps and a 10 micron AFTER. Nothing gets past these filters. If it must be spelled out for you, the first minute explains that the injectors sat with no fuel in them - so the only logical explanation is that the fuel was to blame - read between the lines.... Especially considering the fuel is even filtered being poured into the car. One more time, you're assuming to know something - these particular injectors don't have screens - As of this video, there was small cone shaped filters in each inlet fitting of both rails. Last but not least, before the injectors were put back into the car they were cleaned again, back flowed 2 times and rinsed. Just because it's not in the video doesn't mean anything, I don't show EVERYTHING.

if you remove the rail all the way off the machine it will not drip onto it.
