Oh he's going to be remembered alright, he'll go down in history as the 3rd impeached president of a country with the worst response to COVID-19, firmly securing us in first place of total cases (and total deaths it's looking like as well).
Those are the premiere titles, his other accolades include bankrupting a Casino, instigating a possible WWIII with China, North Korea and Iran, lying more than every single other president combined (and being proven wrong on almost every single occasion), supporter of white supremacy groups, the guy who basically dismantled unions (albeit this was a supreme court decision, he did have a part to play in pressuring the supreme court justices), the president with almost none of his original cabinet left, placing children in tiny cages inside of internment centers instead of quick deportation with their family intact... the list goes on and on. Trump is not going to be remembered in the way that he thinks he is, and one of the few reasons he still has a large base of supporters is most likely due to the fact that he speaks in the native language of window lickers.
The sad reality is Trump still blames his predecessor for everything wrong that's happening in the US while taking the credit for the few things that actually benefit a majority of Americans.
To the window lickers and crayon eaters that still blame China for this fiasco, just remembered that Trump knew about this since mid January and opted to take an even worse approach than China did in trying to contain the spread of COVID-19. If you die alone in a hospital due to lack of medical equipment and sanitation, that is all due to the Trump administration believing that medical professionals are lying about what they actually need.
I'm leaning more towards the loathing side myself. Because at this point their unquestioned beliefs are getting 1000's killed !

People always rally around the president during a national crisis. Bush's approval hit 92 percent after 9/11. The fact that Trump's approval ticked up a few notches isn't surprising. The fact that it didn't shoot up 20 or 30 points is.

Trump is mathematically challenged. He figures that if all they need on a regular basis is _x_ then a number many times that is fishy.
Hospitals only use protective masks for maybe 1 to 5 percent of patients in isolation under normal circumstances for things like tuberculosis and resistant staph-aureus.
Now medical workers should be switching masks between every patient but are are forced to wear the same one for hours at a time because of shortages.
Accusing them of stealing is idiotic.
Zoe I mean he also thought hospitals usually only have one or two ventilators usually. At one point he forgot they were called ventilators and started calling them generators. Basically he should listen to the doctors when it comes to what equipment we need.

TV news ratings were astronomically high for the 72 hours after 9/11. I don't remember George Bush talking about TV ratings when he addressed the nation or his approval ratings when the United States began its retaliation. GWB was far from a genius and he did make some highly questionable policy decisions but he did at least grasp the gravity of the situation.

Yeah I think there are quite a few countries in Europe that share your sentiments (but sadly not all of them).
It might not have been the party you would ever vote for. But when it’s a crisis you are glad that whoever is in charge is doing the best job they can with the knowledge and resources available to them.
That is what really matters right now.
It’s hard to say what actions and strategies will be proven to have been effective and not, we can only do the best we can and continue to change and reevaluate the more we learn and the situation changes.
But I feel safe in that they are making good decisions based on what we know now.

Unfortunately, some of this information is given through the White House briefings so I have to listen to his non-sense. And just to be clear, I have no political affiliation, I vote for who I feel is the best candidate. Otherwise, I’d skip through them like I have the last 3 years...

At what point do you think his supporters will see him for what he is? It's pretty terrifying that this guy is the person who is currently representing all of the American people on a global stage. Here in the UK, we're in complete disbelief that he's still got credibility amongst a sizable part of the US electorate. Objectively, the guy is not stable. We all used to look to the USA with fondness and saw you guys as a voice of reason and a force for good. Now, instead of "Making America Great Again", Trump has been a reputational nightmare and has critically damaged your nation's standing in the world.
And whilst I'm aware that there are many mini-Trumps currently heading up other national governments across the world, very few are bringing this scale of embarrassment to their role in office.
