The other part that has to be remembered is that this is the first time he’s EVER been held accountable.
Until now, he’s had lawyers/judges excuse him from punishment.
Those lawyers/judges are now either dead, very old, or in as much trouble as he is.
If he hadn’t been president, he might have continued to be excused.
But he was, and the general public knows he was excused, and not allowing any more.

It also goes to show just how _small_ his own mind is. How myopic and simple his conception of reality is.
He resorts to extreme hyperbole all the time....because he doesn't understand nuance or degrees or relative difference. Because he doesn't know _anything_ about...anything. He's never read a book. He has no understanding of any aspect of the world. And so, everything he experiences....he interprets as being the archetypal example. It's main character syndrome taken to existential absurdity.

He and his brother were 19 and 17 when they joined the Canadian military (army & air force) in 1939 and went off to fight for our freedom in Europe along with a million other Canucks (a million may not sound like many....but....we only had a population of 10million at the time)...yes fully 10% of our total population volunteered to go overseas to fight for what was (and is) right!!!

There were quite a few guys that lied about their age to serve - a lot of the REALLY young ones went into the Navy though, as it was easier for them to get in there with their smaller stature and physique.

What's happened to him is the causation of his actions. That's right it's never happened before, we've never had a blatant liar, thief, and traitor as a president before. And the way he obtained that position needs further investigation.

Technically D-Day was not the turning point. Most of the German army was defeated on the Eastern front by the Soviets. But....Russia is kinda evil nowadays, so I guess we don't talk about that.

Technically, D Day was a turning point. Things were grinding away on the Eastern front and D Day established a western front. Brother in law grew up in the Soviet Union and while the USSR is centered in the narrative, the Soviets acknowledged the importance of the opening of another front
(Interestingly, the Soviets virtually ignore the existence of the war in the pacific.)

All those soldiers, that enormous sacrifice, and a moving and, I think, best speech of President Biden’s presidency… the moment between Ukraine’s Zelensky and a D-Day veteran. I won’t forget it. well, in honesty, there was great people on both sides. Soldiers are pawns.
The average soldier, on both sides, were just fighting for their country.
These were often "kids" in their late teens and early twenties. They didn't really know much about history and politics of the time. They were just doing what they saw as the patriotic thing. Although, many of them had no choice in the matter.

I grew up in Germany and conversed often with the older generation, including my family, about what happened during WWll.
I wish you could grasp and understand what I was told from these people who were actually there. However, that would take at least a book, if not a series. A comment section simply will not cut it.

Most of the "men" who died during that battle were children. The older I get, the more obvious it is to me that even at 20 those were still boys and each life lost was a terrible thing to waste
