- Nortive 8 sent me these boots for free. I needed a pair of boots so took their offer up. I am actually very surprised. They have so far been rugged, durable, water resistant and not overly hot despite the warm summer weather. I am genuinely pleased with them!

Sandy the dog could pull your shoulder out of joint. This happened to me with òur GSP. The dog saw a bird and jolted suddenly forward-my shoulder did the same. About a year later while swimming it went back into the socket. I was truly grateful about that.
Thats not good, I've just today ordered a Halti harness for her, so hopefully that will help
@@WiltshireMan happy trails to you and yours Sandy.
My dog Nina is just as well trained! She's an expert puller! Now I have to teach her how to stop😂
For $50 if they hold up half as long as my Salomon GTX boots, they'd definitely be a good value. Thanks Sandy! Oh, and trying to keep up with the young dogs seems like a great way to stay fit. 👍
I love Altberg boots (made in Yorkshire), and they are the only boots that I purchase these days.
I use an old pair of Dewalt safety boots, ankle height and amazingly comfortable.
When I was fitter I used where walking boots and I used to put this cooling gel on my feet and between my toes , it was from boots it was fantastic kept my feet very comfortable and refreshing as I walked.
Just bought a pair. Feel comfy & look well made. Hoping to walk Hadrians Wall in 2024 so hopefully they'll be up to the job.
They should be fine for long distance. I have been wearing mine daily and all good, they arn't fully waterproof though, after prolonged use in wet weather the dampness will seep in
Like you Sandy I’ve pretty much tried all the brands finding Meindl work for me but I’ve ordered a pair on your recommendation and I’ll let you know how I get on.
Perfect timing sandy been looking at boots today just ordered my Armadillos thank s mate
Hi from Cambridgeshire, fantastic review, Thank you Sir.
Hi Sandy, boots look worth a look, like you I'm hard on my foot ware so always looking for new stuff at the the right price to try, so thanks for the tip. Good to see you out for a "drag" with the girls too, they were giving you a proper work out bud.
Regards
Moose
I think they are worth a punt Moose, for the money I am so far impressed
Hi Sandy👍 I bought an all black pair of the Notiv8 two weeks ago to replace my Salomon Quest Gore Tex from c'2018. Very disappointed in the Salomon, having owned GTX shoes since the early '90s. Perhaps they moved production as the drop in quality and longevity was noticeable.... Anyway! My Nortiv8 were comfortable from the off and I'm delighted. So a big thanks for a detailed review👌😎👏
Hi Marty,
My boots still holding up well so I think they should serve you well atleast for a year maybe more. I tend to wear mine all day every day. Not completely water proof if your stood in water for a prolonged amount of time. They are great value thats for sure :)
i just ordered a pair. I don't expect them to equal my Lowa Renegades which are now $300 list price. I am getting this pair for $51.57 Thanks for the tip.
It will be interesting to hear your thoughts on them in a few weeks. I am still very pleased with mine
They will be on my next year’s new boot list
Interesting looking boots you have there.
To stop my hound from pulling I use a Halti and seems to do the trick. And as she likes to roam, I invested in a Tractive device to go on her collar. Can highly recommend it. Gives me peace of mind when she’s running around in the woods and undergrowth.
Please give updates from time to time on how well your boots are holding up - maybe after the winter?
Hi Sandy. This a quick note to thank you for the review of Nortiv8 boots. After watching you recent video, I ordered a pair from Amazon , and I’m very pleased with the fit and comfort. I will be putting them to the test in Sept. on a month long trip to Spain and Portugal and am quite confident that they will be up to the task. Cheers, Dan ✌️🇨🇦
I reckon they will serve you well Dan. Have a great trip
My Border terrier is a great puller too.The boots look really interesting . Your camera work is so good Sandy .
Thankyou Anne:)
I didn't realise the dogs were still pulling, Bodhi still pulls a little bit, but is great off lead. Great price for those boots....
If I was an older person Bry I wouldn't be able to manage them, they both pull so hard especially when heading out, don't pull much on the return journey though.
Carmen is excellent off lead, always stays close and comes when called, the other article is off like a shot if she slips her lead and only comes back when she is completely knackered. Both have turned out to be beautiful loving dogs though, I wouldn't be without them:)
❤❤❤❤ to the doges. they look better than my salomon GTX's which i have had to return to be replaced once due to them splitting and the replacements are heading back for the same reason.
Upon your review I've ordered some to try, looking forward to seeing what there like 👍👍👍👍
Sofar so good, I hope you enjoy them:)
@@WiltshireMan... I've just received my boots today and have to say they are extremely well made and very comfortable to.. Thank you for your review 🍺🍻🍺🍾🍾❤
I have 3 pairs of Nortiv8 (Mid Ankle Mountaineering model) and have had great luck with them. I don't participate in "Mountaineering", that is just the model name of the boots. I believe that they are very comfortable and very well made, and waterproof so far. I am pretty certain that you will get great results with yours too. I know that there are few better individuals out there that will give them a better test than you will. Thanks for testing them and sharing your opinion my friend. Enjoy them and I will see you on the next one.
Sounds like they are working well for you Terry, so far I am impressed with my boots
Glad I'm not the only who wears boots into the ground. mine are on their last legs but because they have holes near the big toe they let heat out.
Hahaa, I will wear mine til they fall to bits too, very heavy on footware so I was pleased to be given two pairs for free, but really impressed by them so far
Thank you for sharing your video! They look like some really nice boots. Cheers!
Thanks Dan, the boots certainly are great value
@@WiltshireMan You're very welcome, my friend!
I’m pretty sure they don’t make boots like they used to. I bought a pair of Lowa Alpspitz climbing boots in 1965 and wore them for thirty years. I had them resolved in 1980, completely re-sewn and soles again in 1991 after burning the stitching out of them walking through the aftermath of a forest fire. Hot ashes and leather boots don’t go well together. On the other hand I have heard that the modern Lowa boots wear out a lot sooner. I’d like to give the Armadillos a try. Nice review. I notice that Mr. Kent Survival is also trying out the Armadillos.
My last pair of boots were Lowa's, very comfortable, (but so are these el cheapo's) but the Lowa's didn't even last 12 months
Well, I have been wearing the Nortiv8 boots for a couple weeks, and I’m impressed.
They look good i saw them on amazon before ,will be interesting to see if they hold up to all that usage
Nice one - just bagged a pair on Amazon UK although didn't quite get 15% (more like 5%) discount. Still a bargain though.
You live in a gorgeous part of England!.
Now I just need a good bushcraft knife to go with them. 😁
good vid nice see you getting a new vid out on your travels keep up the good vid thanks lee
My first impression was that the dogs where taking you out for a walk Sandy😏
They do that every day, 3 or 4 times each day:)
They look pretty sturdy boots Sandy. It will be interesting to see how they fare with the sort of use you put them through.
A nice looking boot for sure.
On a lighter note…your dog pulls and sounds like a steam train.
Best of luck with getting your drone sorted Sandy.
Thanks, the drone goes away tomorrow hopefully to be fixed
Might give these a go sandy
Can't beat the price and they look good! I usually wear high-tops (had them for 5 years) and one pare of low-top hiking shoes. Kids also got me a pair of new shoes for Christmas (North Face), but only wore them 2-3 times because I love my old shoes. I am like you, if the shoe fits and walks good, why change them ;-)
I like em Dan:) Should have something sharp for you soon, made some changes to the design of the pointy thing:)
@@WiltshireMan In your own time Sir, Family first!
😂😂 Who is taking who for a walk here!?! Brilliant 😂
I hope they are half as good as you say, just ordered a pair, I shall let you know
Sofar I'm pleased with mine, how much did you pay for them?
£42@@WiltshireMan
@@buzz4175 Thats a good price
It is hard to tell the difference between many boots made today. Most are made in China where they glue them together. The outsoles are usually from Vibram or similar. The midsoles tend to include a nylon or steel shank. And it seems most have cheap removable insoles. The trick is to find boots that fit correctly, are matched for the conditions, and can accept custom insoles.

Wiltshire Man,
The Dogs are certainly "in synch" with You as You're travellin'. We can easily tell that, They wanna go where You go, and do as You do..., in Thier Own sort o' way.

Thanks Rick, I love my dogs very much:)
@@WiltshireMan and as I've said, They Love You as well.
About those boots You're putting through their paces...: when You recognize high quality in footwear -- and Your Knives are proof that You Know quality -- that's a Very high assessment.
I trust that the Armidillo shoe Makers will be glad to see that Their "investment" in You pays off handsomely.

Would you trust them on a 150 mile hike WM? 👍👌
You know what I'm going to say Sandy. Get those sandals on. Free up those feet. On and off the bike. I await the comments...🤣🤣🤣🤣
Hahaa nothing wrong with sandals either Graham but my foot wear needs to be universal used all year round. I can find myself in all sorts of places in the space of a day, from fields and woods to dog walking through puddles and riding my bike on tarmac. Boots for me are a good all rounder but your sandals may well be better for some scenarios :)
@@WiltshireMan haha, I know what you mean. I don't actually have any summer shoes now, March till October is sandal weather everywhere for me now. Lakeland fells, park run, woodland walks with the dog and of course i have my SPD ones for the bike lol. I used to have a few problems with my feet as I have a high instep. Long gone now.
Look like a nice option those. How were they for comfort? Were there any hot spots on the foot or any blisters?
They are nice boots, perhaps a bit too hot in hot summer weather but no worse than any other more expensive boots I've had in the past
Let us see if they pass the Wiltshire man test of time, it will be interesting that’s for sure. 👍👍👍👍👍😊😊
So far so good Marcus, I've been wearing one pair for around 10 weeks now and reckon I'm walking around 50 to 60 miles every week with the dogs etc so thats atleast 500 miles on em already.
Boots look good, but what are they like in wet grass? My Salomons were fine in puddles and crossing streams. But half an hour walking through 6 inch high wet grass, they leak like sieves. 🤬🤬😂
Sofar so good even in wet grass Clifford
@@WiltshireMan cool, at that price i will give them ago. Thank you 😁
Wary of buying shoes on line as i have a wide foot. Good recommendation though.
The do have quite wide fitting sizes available I believe
@@WiltshireMan thank you.
Try a harness in stead of a collar and you’ll find she doesn’t pull half as much
I've just got a Halti harness for my dog and she is much more manageable now:)
Sorry, but when it comes to things like boots for walking/hiking I live by the mantra 'Buy cheap buy twice'. Their limitations would soon become apparent on a serious multi day hike.
Sofar so good, had them on my feet all day every day for the last 10 weeks covering around 60 miles each week on dog walks plus whatever else I do, they must have now covered atleast 600 miles, no signs of any wear, still waterproof, still comfortable. I've had expensive boots in the past that were no better
By serious I mean something like the Welsh coastal path with over 30,000ft of ascent over hundreds of miles, which I did last year.
Stuff that only shows up when doing something like that. Ankle support, grip on wet rock paths, how they compress your toes when clambering down steep descents. Stuff that won't show up on gentle dog walks in the woods.
@@Dr.D00p I've walked the Wainwright coast to coast (200 miles in 10 days) in Merrils that cut my feet to shreds. I would say these boots are certainly more comfortable than those ua-cam.com/video/A4TMvRbgaCA/v-deo.htmlsi=XX8LRCmFDk_FFeGa
The most important thing with hiking boots is a good fit. Everything else is secondary. For the price, if they fit you, that's great. Of course proof is in the eating but if he's happy, he's happy.
Who wants a robot dog?
How did you find them for sizing?
Sizing is OK, for me personally I would have preferred a slightly narrower fit as I have narrow feet, but size 11 is where the option for narrow or wide is not available.
As they are they are OK and will be even better in Winter when I'll wear thicker socks
@@WiltshireMan Thanks for the advice. Cheers Jim
👍👍👍
Doggies :))
Imagine wearing boots with open sting hooks and your left or right shoelaces gets caught on it then you trip and fall down a mountain. My 92 year old grandfather fell in his yard wearing boots like this. I felt so bad because I was the one that got them for him. I don’t recommend boots like this ever.
I've never had that happen ever but it would only have to happen the once and would not be very nice
@@WiltshireMan yes brother, hopefully this message will save someone’s life 🩶
One pair for best. only an Englishman would understand.
