I love how the dialogue is more mature but you still have cheesy banter we've come to expect from the official games. Fox calling Harrion "banana breath" was perfect, lol.
They perfectly got the tone of the voice work and dialogue to ride a fine line between serious drama and cartoonish camp - which is where Star Fox has always been at its best.
Really love that X-Wing style briefing after Pepper's! That's a really good way to give the details of the mission after giving the plot explanation. Also really like the mission; just feels right as a proper 'back from the brink regrouping' and how it goes from feeling like any ambush could be devastating to outright taking them on head-on.
LMAO first off Falco dropping a reference to Planet of the Apes, and secondly, hearing Falco saying "damn" is just music to my ears. I like that shit. Gosh I am looking forward to this.
This project just keeps getting bigger and better with each new video/level. Was thrilled to be a part of this one! Everyone's doing really well with the voice acting, but I gotta say Kerber as Pepper and Thea as Fara really knocked it out of the park!
Man the passion in this project. Great voice acting (OG VA's are a bonus), and loving the one liners from Falco, Slip, Peppy (especially the mental battle) and finally the love for the project. Great job!
Didn't see the whole thing because I don't want spoilers, but man, I'm so happy about this fan game. It trully captures the feeling of the n64 star fox game. Can't wait to play it when it's complete! Great work so far
Watching this level play out was insane! Love the intro briefing, feels more like a mission rather than flying from one place to the next. Also gotta say what everyone else is thinking, general Pepper's Voice actor did a phenomenal job with his voice over, it feels like I'm listening to the real General Pepper. Harrion's VA did a great job as well, a great joy to listen to!
I do just wanna note, going through these videos for the umpteenth time - I love how it really feels like your allies are doing stuff and not just flying around for show. Any time you're given a swarm of smaller enemies to shoot down, the player only gets a fraction of them personally, and even if the player is by far the most effective, he's not getting all the bigger targets either - at least one of the Harlocks is already blowing up by the time the player starts shooting at it. And once Fara shows up, she is _all over_ Harrion, she's sticking to the guy like glue!
My Shogun Pilot voice came out pretty well. I can't believe you used the Eject take that killed my voice for the day, lol. Nice to show the commenters I CAN act, anyway, even if they think a bad Slippy is the extent of my abilities. I'm not bothered by those responses. They'll get used to it.😊
I know for me it wasn't your performance as Slippy, which was great, you were also great as the Shogun Pilot, more just that I am one of those weirdos who actually prefers Lyssa Browne's performance as Slippy over his other official VAs. lol
I can't believe Nintendo never hire you guys to make official Star Fox games. I would love to play this game on my Nintendo Switch or Switch 2 when it comes out. Sega hired sonic fan-games to make classic sonic games. Star Fox needs more attention then they deserve.
you mean hired and 8 people liked this! 🤣 maybe due to the fact Nintendo would never green light that UI as it's overly cumbersome and distracts away from the main gameplay it's hideous!
If I'm being completely critical, I think Wolf's model still needs work. He kind of clashes with the more cartoonish, anthropomorphized looks of most of the other characters, and frankly, just doesn't look like Wolf. Maybe it's mostly the shaggyness? I dunno, he just looks kinda off. I'm also more partial to the gruffer, more thuggish-sounding Wolf from Grant Goodeve and Matthew Gafford's portrayals of the character, but that's just me. Getting Jock Blaney on board to play him is still phenomenal, no matter what depiction he's going for. And that's really the only criticisms I have, at this point. It's unreal how far this project has come, and how much further it still has to go. What you're doing for this community is amazing, man! Keep it up!
Oho! You're adding pre-mission briefings, now? Your ambition continues to expand, and I'm very much all for that! As always, the evolving mission parameters help immerse one in the notion that this is a real combat situation, with unexpected twists and unforseen circumstances. The desperation to save the beleaguered Cornerian frigates feels almost tangible, along with the creeping worry that you're facing a threat that can drown you beneath a tide of drone fighters. Fara's return feels like one of the key moments that turns the tide; if alternate craft are still a thing, I'd love to see what kind of new craft Slippy builds using Fara's old gunship as a base. While her accent seems reminiscent of Krystal's, what we've seen of the latter thus far has me thinking that the two will remain different enough by way of personality and backstory. And, of course, Harrion and the Shogun are an old fan-favorite that you did justice. You even got his final scream prior to his mech exploding similar to the original!

I wonder a few things : - How the game handle collision with enemy or ally fighters or vessels ? I ask because of the relative darkness around you and depending on the light, maybe only the reactor is visible. I played a few flight games and collision always happen from time to time (generally a big hit and knocking you off course). I guess you couldn't find a voice actor for Admiral Yesla???? Oh well, the video is still good. And good idea putting a big B on the Boss.
I felt it more fitting that Colonel Shears was part of the Lylat Wars.
I've been playing the game myself and I wonder what the conditions to go to Sector Y after the Corneria City Mission is? Is it based on difficulty choice or certain actions you do in the mission?
You have to delay defeating the boss until after the countdown timer. Sector Y is technically the "failed" path.

It's actually a stock music track from the 1980's, it's apparently made the rounds all over.
Peppers VA is pretty great.
