Solid review bro! Ordered mine yesterday. Ordered it over an X3 M40i because my wife preferred the smaller profile/foot print over the X3. It will be my wife’s car so who am I to argue, lol…
Been waiting for someone to do a good review of the X1 M35i! These are so new that nobody has really done videos on them yet. Thank you! Great vehicle.
@@HawkeyeRides It's gonna be a bang for my buck type of situation as I'm not sure I want to spend 70k+. At that point I'm thinking I might as well go Macan.
Before you buy this vehicle, let me point out the error BMW made in its design. On the front grill area where the radiator is located and slightly visible. Designers should have considered to put a mesh grill cover. Just recently purchased the M35i version, in less than 3 weeks of driving on the freeway to go to work. A rock hit the radiator, took it to BMW for service and unfortunately it is not covered on their warranty. Hefty service price to pay 😏
The 2025 JCW countryman is almost exactly the same price too. The 'base' countryman is about 40k. Is it really worth the 10k up charge? The standard X1 compared to the M35i is only 5k difference.
@@stevelouie5928 the difference in price is 9,400, I’ll add BMW specs sheet (base price to base price). Yes it is, I did a comparison video this week which I will post for next week that explains. BMW website: www.bmwusa.com/vehicles/x-models/x1/sports-activity-vehicle/overview.html?cid=GOOGLE_700000001893972_G%7CBMW%7CCXS%7CTampa%7CModel%7CBrand%7CAO%7CAlways+On%7CExact_X1+M35i+%7C+Brand+Core+New&tier=tier2&maco=0422&ch=paid_search&veh=NA&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAiAzc2tBhA6EiwArv-i6SyWF0WWrPvaqVOaagVVJuZmNiP4kZmaSDg1iguMfkwuaKBqe2cADhoC0XcQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds#x1-m35i
I did because of the price not because of electric and to stress how Volvo has more power. BMW is normally the more performance in any class or price 👍
The reason no one talks about the Volvo is because it is TRASH. Was recently rated near the bottom in terms of dependability. Also, not everyone wants an EV.
I do not want an EV either but even the B5 is quick for the price. BMW makes a great vehicle and its hard to say they do not make the best but a true M would be perfect for this trim
You're right about that. I've read the data too. Even the Volvo's made over here in Gent ( Belgium ) aren't that great. My X5 F15 3.0 diesel : ten years old now and bought new, zero problems. An EV? I don't want it. Also lots of media manipulation by the EU European Union. The 330e Touring on the other hand ...
So for $15K more than a regular X1 you get ? Quad tailpipes, artificial sound, fractional second faster, no spare tire, poorer gas mileage, and bumpier ride. And still a lurch or lag from a stop because there is no mild hybrid electric assist. Not a big advance over the regular X1.
Msrp is around 9k difference But you get 313hp with a 0-60 at 5.2 The xdrive28i is 241hp with a 0-60 6.2 Adding features makes the price more which would do the same on the base trim so 9k more power, styling, m sport brakes , etc I think it’s a good deal but it’s not a vehicle for everyone 👍
My regular X1 at $45K has sport seats, lumbar support, premium package, 18” wheels, basically all but the M-sport package. A similarly equipped M35i prices out at $57K, but has 19” wheels. Personally, lack of a spare tire, bumpier ride, and poorer gas mileage outweighs the opportunity to canyon carve occasionally at a few mph faster.
@@johnbrews9724 like I said it’s not for everyone both are nice vehicles but you are correct this will be more rigid and performance driven which I explain on the review
@HawkeyeRides those are pretty terrible. Even my old 2013 X1 with the 6 cylinder does 0 to 60 mph in 5.2 sec. BMW needs to match the performance with the looks.
Purchased one yesterday. Downsized from a 2021 X3. Comparable size really and great performance. Love this car. Fantastic review.
Thank you and congratulations

They are awesome vehicles 👍
Great POV! With the upcoming MINI JCW Countryman being released on the same platform, do you think it may be more affordable?
@@mikeolson7557 I’m thinking it will be but when you tick a couple options, it will be close to the BMW pricing less 5 ish to maybe 10k off 👍
Great video! Picking up my X1 M35i in sapphire black next weekend.
Congratulations they are nice vehicles 👍
Finally a nice review about the x1m35i
Thanks!
Your welcome 👍
I got one a few weeks ago. Love it. Very fast. Will do upgrade so exhausts louder for sure
Thanks for sharing and congratulations
Great review and vehicle I considered this but bought a AMG GLB 35 mainly because of practicality and interior room.
Thanks for sharing 👍
Thanks for this thorough review! Im researching possibly purchasing my first BMW. Got my eye on Msport x1 or x2. Still torn. Love the look of both
They are awesome, I would cross search for the x3 also as it is even more fun and I have a ton of videos on them as well 👍

If it had permanent awd instead of haldex id biy it tomorrow. Had a 17 audi tts with haldex...never again.
Thanks for sharing your insight
I think I need this.
They are awesome
Are heated and cooled seats available?
You can add heated front seats

Is the dual clutch good in stop and go traffic?
Yeah it shifts smooth, no jerk feel 👍
This or the JCW Countryman All4?.
I would go for this

@@HawkeyeRides A base x1 equipped similarly to a base countryman is very close in price. Too close.
wish it had full m motor setup , more hp . wish it had right at 400hp
I said the same in the review
Use the voice control instead of touch screen
Next time around 👍
What color is this?
I explain it in the first 15 seconds or so and the sticker is included in that time too
yeah.... i really like it but l leaning toward the volvo xc40
Volvo makes a nice vehicle 👍
You'll find the non blockout sunroof blockage is super annoying on a sunny day
Did he mention a Ovlov in the same sentence as a BMW … SERIOUSLY 😂
I guess you haven’t checked them out
me parece absurdo compararlo con un XC40 recharge, porque es eléctrico y todos sabemos el problema de los autos eléctricos.
