I just think it’s insane to think how girl would not like a guy after finding out he’s been lying about everything. Like I don’t want to date a guy who is a huge liar. But it’s framed like “but if you really liked me you wouldn’t care I was royalty 😔” but it’s like “if you really liked me you wouldn’t care if I lie to you about my whole life.” Like wtf.
They didn't end up together thank goodness, they were crazy for this 😭

Yeah, it’s not just about whether or not he’s a rich royal. It’s about the emotional whiplash of getting to know the wrong person. You try to understand his (really unusual, effed up) childhood and lifestyle, and prepare yourself for a life and a person that doesn’t exist. He’s not just lying about his status or job, he had to change his personality and hobbies and everything to fit the mold, too.

Funny how this was "okay" when they demonized the women for being "gold diggers" because they didn't want to pursue a relationship after finding out he lied about who he was... Yet, if anyone pursues a relationship after their online catfish has been revealed, then they're automatically deemed "stupid" for dismissing the lies/ignoring all the huge red flags. 🙃

I also heard that it wasn't just the gaslighting we see on the show. Behind the scenes they had "therapist" who's job it was to play mind tricks on the girls under the guise of "making sure their mental heath is OK while one the show.

Yeah, in the U.K. (from what I read via forums), it's not considered fraud if someone pretends to be a qualified and registered therapist and to see patients like it is in most of the U.S. and probably a lot of other countries (I don't know how to get that information), which is probably why there wasn't any legal action that happened post-show (based on the Wiki).

So many dangerous things can come out of posing as a therapist, screwing someone up with trust issues in never getting therapy again is the best case scenario. Can lead to suicide, blackmail, people being outed at work or from family members. All sorts of horrific things. Good Lord.

ACTUALLY. Reality TV is like reality but on steroids. Most of the time, I think they cut out all the realistic parts until the whole damn show is drama and nonsense.

apparently later on in the show when one of the women was like "I don't think it's actually him", they had someone from the production staff POSE AS A THERAPIST and literally gaslight her into thinking she was imagining things. Possibly more than once? idk the point being it was LITERAL GASLIGHTING and I remain absolutely baffled that this exists.

we need to find these ladies and get them to sue. I know they probably signed away many of their rights but the law makes exceptions for cases like this involving fraud and deception rendering the contract null and void.

Because I don't care about all the "lol he doesn't look like Harry", I couldn't understand how anyone would think a member of a royal family (any) is a star of reality show with random girls competing for relationship (or marriage) with him? And the royal titles and duties going with it? Nobody normal could possibly thing they'd allow it! But this sounds like "wild Harry did it regardless" so... still idiotic but tiny bit more believable.
He tried to make it a huge moral lesson of if they found out he wasn’t rich they’d just leave because they’re shallow as opposed to they found out they had been made to question reality, catfished and lied to for an extended period of time, and that’s why they’d leave.

People who have money go to really good schools that impress upon them the need for "proper" diction and such, and people who aren't rich are allowed to sound like everyone else in their town, so often there IS a distinct difference in the way people speak based on your family's wealth and/or connections. Obviously there are exceptions, but as an American living over here it's been wild seeing how segregated the populace really is!

Y’all….I remember this and kept thinking….::he looked nothing like Harry. He looked like any other red haired, pale, long faced guy. Was it the accent that blinded them?? every night I log off youtube and remind myself it would probably never work between Cooper and I because I'm a fan and we live in two separate states, and the next day I log back on and watch another one of his videos and am convinced all over again that he's literally the most perfect boy that's ever lived
In a lot of reality shows they would isolate the people on there for long periods of time and they sometimes would let them get them drunk, where of course they would get drunk, because the situation they’re in is maddening, people saying they were being stupid cannot tell me that they wouldn’t act irrationally in those circumstances.

I can watch videos with the 25 and under crowd getting their feelings hurt (which is about half of youtube now) all day, every day!!! Your sensitivity levels are thru the roof
What gets me is just how committed they were though. Like this felt like a crime episode more than anything else. Like really having him study and find out how to add exactly like the prince like it’s giving secret agent, Cody Banks vibes. Also, this just sucks because I’m thinking about back in the day. I was a child so this would have nothing to do with me, but my older siblings and Aunt were definitely around the same age as some of these women, and honestly most of them had no clue about anything when it came to the Royal family like the most, they knew about Prince Harry was quite literally that he was just some redheaded British dude, who was like a Prince, that technically was never got to sit on the throne.
So on that, and it’s not hard to believe that these women would not necessarily know who Prince Harry was or what he looks like I don’t think that was the error where Americans were as in to the royal family as they had been in the past and then how they ended up being more so in like the 2010s. Also, the show just feel so illegal like they had fake therapist. Apparently they were talk to the woman in gaslight them, even more into believing that this man was the actual Prince on top of that I’m pretty sure it was like a big brother situation, where they had no ties to the outside world meeting that even though they were in Britain, they really couldn’t see any of the news and shit so they wouldn’t know about where the prince actually would have been and sightings of him.
Also, I feel like winning. This have been illegal in the first place because he would’ve been in posturing one of the royal family members. Why this was happening in England were they unaware was this something that never got brought up until afterwards which is probably why the show never came back like you’re telling me that it is possible for someone to just go ahead and have a show with someone impersonating a British royal family member and not get absolutely sued to the moon and back for impersonating royalty.
