Thank you for video and explains. Came to see something new. Kids played with Echo Show 8 full day .... since then already moth as disconnected, no use unfortunately, laptops and tablets serve better our needs.
You can change the WAKE WORD using your voice too. Just say Alexa (Echo, Computer or Amazon) change your Wake Word to....
there is the fourth Bar which is Orange colour, and to resolve that you have to a hard reset on Echo Device.. i had face this issues latest and worked out solution for it, you really have done great informative video thank you and keep up the good work

Some of these commands will be very helpful to teach her such as scrolling and for watching her videos. This and the google nest are game changers for people with disabilities like her and breaks the isolation.

if I’m watching UA-cam (for eg) and give Echo 5 show a voice command to shut of a light, is there any way to get to resume the video afterwards? Mine just goes back to the Home Screen and I have to start again! Many thanks!

Can you, or anyone, tell me if it would be possible to have the following set up: Amazon show in elderly relatives' house, connecting to a 4g router via bluetooth, (she does not have broadband) but being controlled by me from my house? We want to be able to set alarms for her, and be able to video call her so we can see that she is OK. Would I be able to just add the device to my Prime account? Thanks in advance.
Have you tried asking the Amazon help team? they helped me out setting mine up for elderly mother too (different issues to yours though).
How did you get an English accent on your device? Great videos. I'm thinking of getting one of these.
I think it’s the standard voice if you purchase in the uk. You can change the accent in settings.
Looked at quite a few of these Echo 8 vids. No-one mentions anything about the alarm functionality! I'm wondering weather to get a 5 or 8 and it all depends on the alarm as I'm going to use it as such at the side of my bed. Does the 5 & 8 have the same functionality?
Don't know about the 5 and 8, but my echo 5 and echo spot have the same alarm features. Hope that is helpful.
Can the "Try 'Echo, show me skills'" be turned off on the Echo Show 8?
Does the echo show 2 gen perform just as well with ring and other devices as the Show 8? I’m debating between the two.
It does. Unless you need a better speaker I believe the 8 is better value for the money.
Will it show the artist and song playing with Sirius XM? Like it Does in the car?? If it won't do THAT? I don't need it ...the only other thing that interests me is If it allows me to use all my ehco dots to turn off and on lights and plugs WHEN the wifi is down...I can not find answers for these questions

How do I disable my screen saver on my echo show 5? I would like to keep my Show 5 on at all times without timing out on my Front Ring Door Bell but it times out constantly. Is it possible to do this ? thx for any info
Try giving the command to "minimize screen" to eliminate screen saver.

Top tip, turn off virtually every single home content notification option! Even then you'll still get hint after hint after unwanted hint on the screen (try this...) :/

Nice video. Something I'd like to see is information on how to add an Echo Show (tied to Amazon account # 1) to a different Echo Show (tied to Amazon Account # 2). For example, I bought a relative an Echo Show for Christmas, and I have an Echo Show. My Echo Show is tied to my Amazon account, and their Echo Show is tied to their Amazon account. So far, so good, but I cannot figure out how to set things up so I can call their Echo Show.
Some things that maybe adding to the issues is (1) they don't have a cell phone, so they don't have that phone listed in their Amazon account, and (2) I don't want to sync all of my contacts with Amazon (Alexa).
Any suggestions? (Thanks.)
I finally figured it out... Bottom line: You need a cell phone that can receive SMS (text) messages.
Longer story: Both Amazon accounts need to each have a cell phone attached to the account. It turned out the relative had a cell phone, but it was an older phone which didn't appear to support text messaging. When adding a cell phone number to an Amazon account, a confirmation code is sent to that cell phone as a text message. If the cell phone doesn't support texting, then it won't receive the message, thus you cannot get the confirmation code, and therefore you cannot add the cell phone to the Amazon account.
In the end, we discovered that the old cell phone does (fortunately) accept text messages, so we were able to receive the confirmation code and get the cell phone added to their Amazon account. Once we did that, I was suddenly able to call each Echo Show from the other Echo Show. Yay!
Lots of time working through this issue, but we learned a lot in the process. Hopefully this information will help others.

No, it only has the skills on the Alexa app.
So if you turn all the cards off you'll just see several blank instances of wallpaper??
They really need to add more wake words. I already have an echo and echo plus and fire tv cube
You can enable different wake words in Alexa skills. For instance you can change Alexa to Samuel J Jackson's voice. Then you would call your echo device Samuel instead of Alexa.
Blue, red, purple, AND YELLOW which is for notifications
Also orange, which means it has dropped the connection.

Andrei Taran Netflix is Amazon’s biggest competitor. It does not make good commercial sense to allow your competitor to use your platform.

Eco Show is next to useless in Australia....scroll command, for example, does not work in Australia. It's basically a chatty clock / timer LOL...and maybe search the odd thing in the browser.
It'd kinda useless in all places. It does the things like you said/assistant. Depends on your needs or bc I want one. Compatible devices can work with it without picking up the phone.

Amazon trade in and save, one big fake. I sent in my echo show 1 in
perfect working condition not even a blemish with screen protector still
attached. It was wrapped in 2 separate layers of bubble wrap taped
closed with some air cushions packing to keep it safe and it was
appraised at $5.00. This is insulting, i happened to take excellent care
of my electronics and how dare they imply i don't. I always thought of
them as a fair company but now they went beyond making me angry.
