  • www.thegreenmac... James wanted to create an original, modern Andy Warhol, pop-art style of Nature Aquarium. To do this, he used the ADA Sado-Akadama Stone which has a lovely red colour, and the ADA Aqua Screen in Clear Green because red and green are at opposite ends of the colour spectrum and therefore create a very dramatic contrast, like blue and orange or purple and yellow do. At first, James was not sure about the Aqua Screen but as this aquascape has grown in he has been very pleased with it and is excited about the opportunities it provides for originality.
This aquascape reflects the artistic nature of aquascaping, and the way in which there are an endless range of styles and influences for the aquascaper to draw upon.
This video uses time-lapse photography to document James Findley aquascaping a stunning ADA Wood Cabinet White & ADA Cube Garden 60-P Aquarium at The Green Machine. This ultimate all-ADA setup is currently on display in The Green Machine, Wrexham. This video serves as a trailer for the full real time video which will be published once the aquascape has grown in. Come and see for yourself how the aquascape is growing in!
The full video will feature detailed explanations of James' inspiration, techniques and planting tips.

I have to disagree with another commenter. I really liked the green background. I've never seen green used before (it's usually blue or black). It adds an interesting touch.
    Great video!

Thanks for the feedback. The CO2 and Filter set up will be documented in the full video when it is released. As for the ADA Aqua Screen in clear green - so far in store the response has been akin to that to Marmite - people either love it or hate it! James is waiting to see what it looks like once it is grown in. Call in store to see this aquascape develop...

This is just a sneak, time-lapse preview of what is to come. As soon as the scape is grown in we will release a full documentary style video which will be called 'Five Stones Aquascape by James Findley - The Making of' and added to our 'The Making of' Series

We've updated the aquascape journal (there's a link in the video description) to include a few shots of the aquascape at just over 5 months old... its matures wonderfully. James is very happy with the results! We'll have another video some time in the future.

Nice to see this time-lapse.. me personally I don't like the green background. And I'd love to see more details about all the filter and co2 techniques on your tanks. Keep the videos coming :-)

Hello. I was wondering if Pagoda stone is Inert. Half the info I read says it is, and the other half says it is not. Any info would be great, ty. Cheers

Very impressive video, but im afraid i also disliked the green background :) I far preferred that diffused background used in the Isle of Man tank.

what type of plastic are you using to create the soil mound in the tank? I have trouble with slopes falling over time in aquariums and this seems like it would help do the trick. Great scape!
