I wanted to let you guys know that I was very saddened to here about the closing of your shop. I love your videos and will miss the updates on your beautiful aquariums. Your videos have been a true insperation to me, I love to watch them while I paint or draw. You even inspired me to start my own planted fish tank. Thank you so much for sharing.
I was wondering why I hadn't heard anything about them for awhile, and with the way the world is these days I had guessed they'd gone out of business. It's good to have that confirmed, and yes, it is unfortunate. These videos have been a regular source of inspiration for me. Thanks for confirming my suspicions.
"After completing this harmonious scape, James proceeded to murder everyone in the room, for this job, he used the ADA machete, you can find out more about this amazing tool in the description"
non .Ty .After watching this video with it's chilling music .I as always scrolled down to see the comment section .Expecting the norm. People correcting the maker .I feel they were way to scared . I have never laughed so much at a comment xD.
These tanks have a very long lifecycle that can reach into years! The only maintenance video we have at the moment is this one which is for a much bigger aquascape, but the principles are the same; ua-cam.com/video/LLlme-XGZ6s/v-deo.html
Yeah, I agree lol! Or maybe just a video of a month after introducing a few fish. This has got to be a full-time job and not for hobbyists, i mean, surely? Just imagine trying to keep Malawi Cichlids (obviously with coral sand and chufer, maybe slate) in a tank like this when you need to catch one or two for quarantine or stripping. It would be like a hurricane had passed through! Any specific, slow moving, docile fish that are specifically for this kind of setup? How is the sand and; well, everything replaced neatly after your first water change without stressing the fish too much? I truly appreciate the effort people go to with their setups but; and no I'm not a vegan or a vegetarian even, but unnecessary stress on your fish for aesthetics seems a little extreme and seemingly neglectful. But, having said all of that, I'm certainly no expert nor mean anything above as an attack. In fact, I would love to be educated on the matter if it is practical and fair to the fish. But, the fish come first for me :)
Logan Lovell if you live in a major city you can do this. I know a guy who makes his living setting up and maintaining aquariums for different kinds of business offices and doctors offices, restaurants, and wealthy people who want big aquariums but don't want to put in the work.
I remember watching this when it first premiered. Hopefully whoever runs this channel comes back. An audio tip, a calm and relaxing music would go great with this kind of video
Great video and very informative. Music and voice over fantastic and the creation striking and clean. A work of art. I wish all UA-cam videos were of this quality.
I love it when you see the plants settle in and begin to flourish, they look in shock for the first couple of weeks then one day they just suddenly look stunning.
I stumbled across the video at random. Didn't even know what an aquascape was (or rather I was familiar with the concept but unfamiliar with the term). This was a really cool project; James did a fantastic job.
James definitely had another life, but it wasn't human. This man obviously lived in another galaxy as a different species. That aquarium is magnificent.
Hello folks. Sorry for how quiet we've been. We are down to our last handful of hardback books, and at present we won't be re-printing them (although we are option to publishers contacting us or sensible proposals). The digital copy will remai available indefinitely. This might be your last chance to get a hardcopy if you really want one. Sorry if you miss out, there really are only a handful! As a bonus we'll get James to sign them all. First come first served, one per customer, same price as usual. Now only available directly from us. Note: Stock may run out prior to your order, we will contact you if it has sold out before your order and refund you in full. Delivery for signed hardbacks will take a while as we need to get James to sign them before dispatch. Thank you for watching our videos! thegreenmachineonline.com/aquascaping-book/
its 3 am...i am bored af find this video for some fucking reason this was recommend to me i watch it the wwhhoolleee 20 fucking minutes and guess what? you just got a new sub XD
Shoutout to the narrator. I get annoyed after awhile w many UK accents but I find the narrators voice here very pleasant and soothing. I wish he was the one speaking in the 3D animation tutorials, that are made by a lot of guys from the UK, that I spend a lot of time watching to learn the software. Anyway, has James invented any other tools other than the substrate supports? That was pretty genius and so practical. I see that many ADA products are used. I think that is further testament of the influence and reverence James and TGM has for the late Takashi Amano. I've been watching your videos for the past two days straight and I know that some day I will be taking this up as a hobby, maybe more. You know where my influence came from if I ever get big. Thanks.
I watched Crimson Sky after this and was told how James invented other techniques and even the terrestrial moss. You said that it is made of three different plants. This means a combo of 3 different mosses or is it moss mixed with something else. That is really ingenious. Wow. Very inspiring.
Like myself, the narrator has a Scouse accent which is the casual way of saying a Liverpool or a Liverpudlian accent, it is an odd accent in so far as that there are quite an awful lot of people in the UK who just dislike the Scouse accent, and yet we have had a survey taken here in the UK which researched local and regional accents for use in providing a service for the Samaritans, it was determined that the Scouse accent was the most emotional and soothing of all UK accents giving callers a sense of trust in the telephonist, this is contrary to the stereotypical opinion held by people nationwide that Scousers are not to be trusted.
Well if you want to keep an upscale, expensive tank like this then you have to either do it all yourself or hire an aquarium maintenance person to take care of this for you.
I've been looking around at various styles of aquariums for a while and have watched a lot of your videos, but I think this is the one I'm going to use as my main inspiration for my 20 gallon tank. I just love the natural look of all the rock next to the monte carlo. It's very relaxing. Your videos are awesome, keep it up!
Just beautiful, this is why I love the hobby. I currently have an aquaponics system in my kitchen using a 75 gallon tank with "exotic" tropical fish and my veggies and herbs are growing wonderfully! I would love to do something like this!
Love that this was in my recommendation. Never knew this existed it's really beautiful. There should already be "Best in Show" movie version of Aquascaping.
my question is... how do you keep the aquarium clean? even if you have to clean it once in a year it would be pretty painful to clean that mess everytime...
Those fishes have the perfect home and environment. 0 stress they grow healthy. Man.! I’d like living in mountain 🏔 where the grass is green there’s a lake .’ And the air is fresh af and everything is green .’ Man.
they probably wouldn't jump out of this tank.what prompts bettas to jump is when they think their is a possibility for a better water system(basicly the waters dirty or their tanks to small) they'll jump.
Oh man makes me want frogs and tarantulas! The design opens up whole new worlds in my imagination. Awesome aquarium video, I think I'll have to use a similar rock layout but obviously dryer conditions! ;)
Hii myself adil from india.. I really like your videos.. u people are awesome..creative.. keep doing ..👍 I have a doubt.. ive not seen u adding co2 diffuser or some tablets lyk dat.. please guide .. is it really necessary.. or whats your opinion Tysm .. best regards..
Good work James, the tank is really outstanding :D The first stone (left) the stones (far right) and then all the others, it's such a beautiful type of stone for aquascaping. Never seen aquascapers use so much and many different 'additives' and they actually never mention it. Fish are just as important as plants are but some scapers barely talk about it.
Not sure why this popped up as recommended but i was but i was enthralled. Never seen anything like it.
Same, this popped as my recommendation. Though it probably helps that I've been watching Ant setups
Skipstar2001 exact same😂
Youtub is God.
Ivan DaThug same
hii
James has laid down a suitably dope track to accompany his aquascapes.
It's actual terrible and doesn't fit the topic of the video
This could possibly be my all-time favourite UA-cam comment..
That is easily the funniest comment ever! 😭
So happy to see that you are still here :)
Those fish live in a beautiful world.
you wish to be a fish
tepunto a Betta fish would look great in a take like that
its fish heaven
tepunto i think sea would be better ;)
just a beautiful prison cell
As a person afflicted OCD , i freaking loved this video, every item was carefully placed in its perfect spot.
Me too

Non Pervenuto we ship worldwide
Haha wtf
I think you meant "James used the TGM machete, available at the the Green Machine, which James developed specifically for this purpose."
non .Ty .After watching this video with it's chilling music .I as always scrolled down to see the comment section .Expecting the norm. People correcting the maker .I feel they were way to scared . I have never laughed so much at a comment xD.
Non Pervenuto Nice 👍
So ive watched this video for about 10 minutes and everything ive gathered so far is that James is a great guy.
I have a feeling James is also the narrator...
#DadVsDiaper hahahahah i was just thinking about that
yeah that's what I thought as well
good self promotion xD
Thats so annoying! Trying to speak in a third person
Lol... I thought the same
Me too lol
I'm absolutely obsessed with watching The Green Machine. This is completely mesmerizing. Cool tracks too!
i would love to see a maintenance video on a tank like this
do they exist? do tanks setup like this ever remain setup beyond a couple months. i dont know!
These tanks have a very long lifecycle that can reach into years! The only maintenance video we have at the moment is this one which is for a much bigger aquascape, but the principles are the same; ua-cam.com/video/LLlme-XGZ6s/v-deo.html
That's cool.
How many years would a tank like this typically last?
Is it self sustainable?
Yeah, I agree lol! Or maybe just a video of a month after introducing a few fish. This has got to be a full-time job and not for hobbyists, i mean, surely?
Just imagine trying to keep Malawi Cichlids (obviously with coral sand and chufer, maybe slate) in a tank like this when you need to catch one or two for quarantine or stripping.

James strives for perfection, and the result is amazingly beautiful, but James never speaks.
He looks like a God creating a new planet
All Hail James!
toocoolforu, it was my first thought, too.
and lo, James said, "Let There Be Substrate"
oh my god yes
toocoolforu lolz
An hour ago I had never even heard of Aquascape. It is very beautiful.
This is like flower arrangement but wet. Beautiful.
Now THAT is art. Throw-out the blotches of paint on canvases and piles of refuse and get this in the National Art Gallery right now!
dream job: design aquariums, terrariums, landscapes, water features. That'd be so cool. It would be like creating a copy of nature by hand
Logan Lovell if you live in a major city you can do this. I know a guy who makes his living setting up and maintaining aquariums for different kinds of business offices and doctors offices, restaurants, and wealthy people who want big aquariums but don't want to put in the work.

I find this extremely stasfying to watch
Horror-movie music for a landscape video? what a time to be alive!
Great video and very informative. Music and voice over fantastic and the creation striking and clean. A work of art. I wish all UA-cam videos were of this quality.
Thank you, didn't think I could find this again with UA-cam's horrid search feature...so much ASMR. I am glad to know about these videos
the music makes me feel like I'm watching the docile side of a serial killer
zed 502 brilliant!
Hahahaha! You're right.
Sound like stranger thing lol
lol i had similar thought
Lol!!
I love it when you see the plants settle in and begin to flourish, they look in shock for the first couple of weeks then one day they just suddenly look stunning.
I didn't know this was a thing. I'm glad it IS a thing. It's beautiful.
Как всегда очередной шедевр! Какие же вы молодцы.
This video got me into aquascaping and fishkeeping in general 2 years ago
Wow i have four tanks as one for the bridges with different kinds of aquaskapes.
Those oxigen bubbles look amazing, it looks like an artificial pump instead.
Loving this cool project.
Damn how much Lawry's seasoning salt you gotta add to the tank???
Are you trolling
Wtf??
dumb af shit had me dead lmao
Looks like just enough to barely cover about 50% of the bottom before adding the L stuff.
Curtis King II NOT ENOUGH
I keep coming back to this video, it’s the most beautiful tank I’ve ever seen
I love your work and all but most of the time I put the video on to sleep to it .thanks !
Nader A. Gepril same!
He did all that in just
20 min🤯🤯🤯
Really appreciate his work
Man I want to start one of these some day.
the commentary included with these videos is fantastic
I’m impressed James got Vic Reeves to do the narration!
I stumbled across the video at random. Didn't even know what an aquascape was (or rather I was familiar with the concept but unfamiliar with the term). This was a really cool project; James did a fantastic job.
Ok I'm done, now tell me how to move it to my living room ;-)
lol
And how to keep my cats from playing in it.
lol
Your gonna need a forklift

James definitely had another life, but it wasn't human. This man obviously lived in another galaxy as a different species. That aquarium is magnificent.
love the retro new wave music.synth pop.love it.
An aquarium like this is amazing. IF you're someone with a lot of time and patience. I shiver just by thinking on the maintenance of this
so...whats the guys name again?
Loomix Alexandra Eric
Jorge?
Lol
Lol Mr. Greenjeans
Jean
Beautiful tank, and the baby fish you see at the last part is too cute
Those fish must think they've died and gone to heaven.
Idk what I’m watching but this relaxes me
Can this method be used in making organic swimming pools? I like it very much the end products are so dreamy.

thegreenmachineonline.com/aquascaping-book/
what is the filtration system on that build?
Hi, We use an external ADA Super Jet Filter outside of the aquarium
TheGreenMachineLtd Brilliant tutorial guys .;0)
Amazing. You guys are some bloody serious artists! I'm going for it ...
yyyyy
I think the narrator and James are the same person, am I right?
I love the smell of fish tanks. It's so fresh and 'pondy'.. It only really smells when you remove any plants or standing directly above.
Sheldon Harbour The narrator is Mark Astles. The voice for all their videos.
I'd like to think that too. Makes it even more ridiculous how often he mentions "James".
Heh! Fight Club anyone? :P
The slope made by the substrate and rocks makes it look as it is for an Oscar.
its 3 am...i am bored af find this video for some fucking reason this was recommend to me i watch it the wwhhoolleee 20 fucking minutes and guess what? you just got a new sub XD
me too!
same story, 7 am...
5:30 am here. I want to make these for rich people.
I'm watching it at 1:55am here. Sent the link to my mom just now. lol.
630am same story!
I’m so blazed right now and I want to live in that tank
best aquascape channel
Thanks Héctor! Look out for our next video how-to - Spontaneity aquascape! (It should be published in the next few weeks).
It's ready now! ua-cam.com/video/VuScdr53SM8/v-deo.html
This looks so peaceful, I totally want to take this up as a hobby.
The Voice Over guy clearly has a crush on James, and i'm ok with that.
Your guyses comments make me burst with laughter, some of you!!!!! I'm dying here!
So incredibly aesthetically pleasing!
awesomatic!
the music also too good, which music is that
I love people who do this kind of stuff.

@Beija - maybe it is because the scouse accent sounds more working class and therefore less likely to judge?
MARVELOUSII James, you are amazing!!
the funny thing is the person who is talking is James himself
this was oddly satisfying even if not once did I understood those scientific terms...
This is just the perfect thing I was looking for to help me relax! Looks so peaceful with the Boards of Canada-esque music.
how does this work with cleaning? Do you ever need to start from scratch again? I don't think I could do this every clean!
I wonder this as well.
huh??? didn't you see the result after over a year. It has a filter.
iceicebabys
Well if you want to keep an upscale, expensive tank like this then you have to either do it all yourself or hire an aquarium maintenance person to take care of this for you.
How do you plant grass seeds with water in the tank
I've been looking around at various styles of aquariums for a while and have watched a lot of your videos, but I think this is the one I'm going to use as my main inspiration for my 20 gallon tank. my question is... how do you keep the aquarium clean? even if you have to clean it once in a year it would be pretty painful to clean that mess everytime...
Intelligenkeit i think that when you set them up right you dont really need to clean them
That glass has to stay clean though.
Clean of what? Tanks like this are perfectly balanced so little to no algae growth.
Bish, this is pure art. PURE ART.
I'm so high right now.
yeah man
yeah man
yeah man
yeah man
yeah man
Those fishes have the perfect home and environment. 0 stress they grow healthy. Man.! I’d like living in mountain 🏔 where the grass is green there’s a lake .’ And the air is fresh af and everything is green .’ Man.
am I the only one who wants to swim there
Yes
😂😂😂😂pickle dickkkkkk
Wow a wonderful man made creation!
can I put a beta fish in there?
I would say that the problem here is the absence of a top.
The betta fishes tend to jump out of aquariums sometimes.
they probably wouldn't jump out of this tank.what prompts bettas to jump is when they think their is a possibility for a better water system(basicly the waters dirty or their tanks to small) they'll jump.
Sure, but it could be scared of something and have a natural reflex or just try to catch a mosquito since they eat insects.
I don't trust mine.
Easy fix.. leave the water a few inches from the top... Bazinga!
nah, i keep my beta in a tank like this and they never jump out.
Oh man makes me want frogs and tarantulas! The design opens up whole new worlds in my imagination. Awesome aquarium video, I think I'll have to use a similar rock layout but obviously dryer conditions! ;)
Hii myself adil from india..
I really like your videos.. u people are awesome..creative.. keep doing ..👍
I have a doubt.. ive not seen u adding co2 diffuser or some tablets lyk dat.. please guide .. is it really necessary.. or whats your opinion
Tysm .. best regards..
AMAZING.. i watch people doing this kinda of thing, and the fish almost dont have oxygen that he needs!
This aquariums was fantastic, congrats!
don't forget to season your substrate
Good work James, the tank is really outstanding :D
The first stone (left) the stones (far right) and then all the others, it's such a beautiful type of stone for aquascaping. Never seen aquascapers use so much and many different 'additives' and they actually never mention it.
Fish are just as important as plants are but some scapers barely talk about it.
I love how its a tutorial... and they just throw in "17 months later". God damn.
That's some next level rock gardening right there.
how did i get here... I have to say, it was neat to watch though.
a thing of beauty, really like how the moss covers the stones
one day, when I'm rich; I'll pay someone to do this for me.
:-)
;一]
Like James !
One day, when I'm rich and learned this, I will do this for free.
Doing it yourself is part of the experience
Absolutely lovely tank!
I don’t even want to make an aquarium I don’t even have a pet? Why am I watching this
Then go for your
That's how you will get into tending an aquarium...
You are beautiful
Idk, cause you’re bored? You don’t need pets to watch a video...
Maybe it's on the 'closeted serial killer' UA-cam playlist
Outstandingly presented... really inspiring stuff... this is something I'd like to get into...
That music was a bit much sometimes
Pussy his music is great
I like how this and other James' videos burst the myth of too deep substrate (proper aquarium substrate) choking everything with mythical gases.
hey anyone know name of background music
Hi, there is not a name for it, we make it ourselves.
TheGreenMachineLtd ur awesome can u please provide it at skrillexsonar329@gmail.com
Could I also get the track? sucre.juan@gmail.com
Also what is the white substrate layer before James adds the powersand?
TheGreenMachineLtd i would like to get the track too, please

Music makes me feel like I'm watching blade runner 🙌
This video deserves a juicy like
I thought for a second "Hey this would be cool for my turtle!" then remembered my turtle would rearrange that place somethin fierce. 😐
This is amazing. Just beautiful colors.
James: I want everyone to remember my name
Narrator: Say no more................
no idea how i ended up here but I like it! Subbed !
The music doesn't match the video lol
+Sergio “ZEAL” G It does if you pretend this is an alien underwater landscape.
Beautiful design & music reminds me of a shark 🦈 ready to feast. 💯
