Good friends can boost mental health for men | Paul Sharp

  • Having a strong social circle and being able to rely on others can be beneficial for men's mental health. But sometimes, it's hard for men to make new friends or develop stronger friendships. So how can men open up to their friends, or how can we help the men in our lives?
    ABOUT DR. PAUL SHARP
    Dr. Paul Sharp has become a Senior Lecturer (Health Behaviour Change/Sport Psychology) in the School of Health Sciences at the University of New South Wales. He completed his postdoctoral training at the University of British Columbia, and is an academic member of UBC's Men's Health Research Program and the Reducing Male Suicide Research Excellence Cluster. Dr. Sharp is currently leading a research project exploring men’s social connection and peer support for mental health challenges. Findings from this research will be used to inform the development of an online resource to encourage and support men to engage in peer support and mutual help for mental health challenges.
