So during the time of big Vampire hunting, they dug up a lot of graves, which when opened, the bodies had changed how they laid in the coffin, and there was signs of them trying to claw themselves out, before passing away again. So after the whole Vampire craze, graven that got dug up, to be put into other places, or for new bodies to be dug down in the place, while the old body got cremated, they again noticed that people had been alive in these coffins. Cause; Many people got diagnosed as Dead, because Doctors could not hear the heartbeat, or feel the pulse of the person, so people in many cases got buried alive. So a precaution was the Burial Bells, these bells had a small rope tied to them, and the other end, was tied to a person's foot or toe, so when they started moving, it would pull the rope, and start the bell ringing. It would send the gravediggers to start digging up the person. Today, our medical equipment is good enough to detect the tiniest of heartbeats, so the chance of an alive burial has to be either on purpose, of a miracle of a chance to happen. Well unlucky for the person being buried.
I don't know if it's so much that as it is with embalming they replace your blood with formaldehyde so if you weren't dead before, you're definitely dead when they bury you.
I know those stories but even the worst doctor should be able to recognize a dead body being absolutely cold. Maybe it is still true, people were too naive back then.

The “Dead Ringer” saying comes from being buried alive by accident, you’re right in saying they would have string tied to a limb but the saying “Graveyard Shift” means someone had to stay up all night listening out for the bell just in case. The days before heart monitors and understanding what a coma was! You’re welcome lol

This is an oddly specific horror trope to hate, especially considering how it makes complete sense for this game. I live in Louisiana and my son and I did a Haunted History Tour in New Orleans. I remember stopping in the middle of an intersection in the French Quarter, near an old pharmacy. The tour guide mentioned the bells when they would pile bodies on top of each other that died from Yellow Fever. Sometimes they were just in a deep coma like state. If they crawled out of the bodies they would ring a bell so that they wouldn't be buried. They were usually hysterical and acting strangely, hence zombies! True or not, it was a great story.
The bell and the coffin reminds me of a story of a town (can't remember where) a long time ago where a bunch of people accidently got buried alive. They didn't have any of the technology we have now. There were a lot of drunks and sometimes someone would get so hammered, they would pass out while stumbling around town. When someone found them, the person looked and felt like they were dead, so they were buried. It wasn't until so many years later when the cemetery needed to be moved and they dug up the coffins only to realize that many of them had scratches inside of them. I can only imagine the guilt the burial people must have had when they realized they accidently killed people.
Gonna be a good good night! You need to play Condemned and Condemned 2: Bloodshot. They’re full older games but definitely worth the time. Keep up the content brother. We’re loving it!!
It would be cool if in the chat there were clues relating a story to you, something that might explain why you're buried. When we see the chat with the coffin/bag/ emojis, I thought it was like they accidentally texted him the plan to kill him. It would be cool to see other clues -- things that gave you the story but were designed to distract you and burn battery power. I thought it was going to be he was also a bad guy! and had been betrayed by his partners, so you escape but realize you were a killer all along as well, you threw that victim in there and were buried with them in an act of betrayal by your partner or something.
Lol as terrifying as this is.. Fooster and Fisk have helped me manage through very tough times.. Thank you fooster.. Always entertaining and keeping me positive through it all
The term "Graveyard shift" was thought to originally come from the people who were assigned to watch the graves of the recently deceased and listen for the grave bell to ring. Usually the coffin would not be buried until at least 3 days have passed. It should be noted that this is an American modification of the original term "Gravedigger's watch", which is not to be confused with "Graveyard watch". A Graveyard watch was a term used by mariners for those on the late night to early morning guard shift.

There was a woman in India? I think recently who was pronounced dead prematurely. She woke up in her own casket at the open casket wake. Scared the shit out of everybody. Sadly, the shock of thinking she'd died and waking up like that ended up damaging her heart and so she died again/anyway.
I used to have Kenophobia which is basically the opposite of claustrophobia. It wouldn’t mean I wouldn’t be afraid of being buried alive cuz obviously that’s a life threatening situation but being buried in a controlled situation would actually be very relaxing to me. A kenophobic version of this game would be waking up suspended on a climbing rope. You can’t see the end of the rope, nor your surroundings. You don’t hear anything in particular nor see or even feel much in the way of air movement. All you know is you have to get out but how far down that rope are you? Will that rope hold indefinitely and even if you make it to the top, with that be the exit? If it isn’t, the only option will be to descend down into the void.
It is a huge waste having both lights on, especially during periods where you are interacting with objects. All those seconds while the game plays the various animations at wasted with your phone on, and it's even worse when you are sat there with phone AND lighter on for as long as you were. Also if you are reading the phone there is no need to have the light on too.
Fooster have you and Fisk look at “The Day Before” since it finally came out today and wasn’t push back another year?! It looks great, I’ll playing it tomorrow…can’t wait.

Anyway, brilliant work that u have put into the videos, welldone. Everyone subscribe to fooster and like every video that he has put on his brilliant channel well done. Get some rest and take some time from that horror. See you in the next one
Yes, I've heard of grave bells. The victorians were big on them. This would freak me out???? Being buried alive for 1 but to be laying on top of another body that would be decomposing along with you. Hell NO 😫 🤢 🤮
What you described is where the saying "saved by the bell" comes from. The more you know.
I live thru you playing scary games, eeek 😂 👍👏
Hey Fooster! Just wanted to say you have become mine and my wifes favorite youtuber! Love the content, brother! I did want to ask, any chance we could get some more full lets plays with longer form videos, say ~ 1 hr per video? We love all of the kind of random stuff with fisk, but really hoping to see a few full let's plays coming up! Thanks, Fooster!
P.s. maybe a full coop let's play with fisk? Thanks again!
you should play fall out 4 its so fun its my fav i would love to see a series on it
Has nobody seen the movie Buried? Starring Ryan Reynolds, criminally underrated in my opinion. Fooster! If you haven't seen it, watch it! It's not far from this (bar the horror aspect).
Think i've watched it over 5 times now, really is a great tone to the movie, so suspensful.
I was scrolling through looking for this comment. Good, unsettling movie and showed me Ryan Reynolds is a pretty damn good actor.
@@stat2883 Absolutely right! Shows he does have great acting abilities outside of his comedic Deadpool persona.
Its where we get the saying for whom the bell tolls! The bells attached to strings thing
Fooster, you always hope for more than the devs have thought to give you, and i love it! 😂
Getting an ad right in the moment where the face shows up really destroyed the moment
FOOSTER i always watch all of your videos and watch all of your horror games BUT this one im so scared from the intro so just dropping by to say hi and i’ll catch you in the next video lol
Fisk! What did you do!?
That would have been a great intro!

the wedge. Nice bit of kit will definitely be a help to me I'm still awful with my whetstone.
I have watched you play through every horror game imaginable and I've jumped out of my chair many a time. This is the first video that I CANNOT sit through. I made it to 5:30 and I'm out. Good luck to the rest of you.

Wow
When he had both the torch and the lighter on i was screaming, great video
13:30 that was the first night shift job, listening for the bell, that’s why night shifts are called graveyard shifts.
Saved by the bell cuz I'm saved by the bell
fooster you did great amazing job have you played fears to fathom its scarely good play it im begging
The bells ringing in the cemetery 🪦 🔔 and watching the movie the nun in the cemetery 🪦 is a horrible horror thing that the nun saved the preacher from the death of the Ringing Bells and God bless Everyone Amen and great video Fooster 😇😇😇😇
There was a woman in India? I think recently who was pronounced dead prematurely. She woke up in her own casket at the open casket wake. Scared the shit out of everybody. Sadly, the shock of thinking she'd died and waking up like that ended up damaging her heart and so she died again/anyway.
13:36 saved by the bell. That phrase came from it. People were buried with a bell attached.
Being burried and still being hunted that's gonna make me mad
Just read the story of the guy that fell head first into a hole while spelunking and was stuck for days before he finally passed. Shivers 😫
I've been waiting for you to play this🤘🍻
If you listen carefully at 21:21 you can hear Taco running around grabbing all the Loot
Fucking underrated comment 😂
You play cool unique games...love it
Love the video, new sub here, just found your channel, and will continue to watch them all lol
There was a movie called buried that came out in 2010 and it was about an American truck driver in the middle East being buried alive by terrorists.
I .. i... i can't breath throughout the video☠️
Yep. Buried alive or having to crawl into a tunnel on your stomach and it slowly gets tighter until you're stuck.
Fooster have you and Fisk look at “The Day Before” since it finally came out today and wasn’t push back another year?! It looks great, I’ll playing it tomorrow…can’t wait.
If you are buried in a normal, cheap coffin, it will most likely be crushed by the weight of the soil.
You realized there was a third hand on your chest at the exact same time as me and I yelled fuck so loud. Then I had to pause the video. LOL
