- Thank you to one of our subscribers Thomas P. for suggesting this blind! AJ and I blind flight Blanton's along side Eagle Rare, Weller Special Reserve, and Hancock's Reserve. What a surprise we have when the results are revealed!

Thanks guys for the laughs and great video.
love the surprising results and your reaction to your own results. priceless.
Thanks
Love your videos and I just watched this one and it was hilarious, I’m going to try to find more of your older videos, but I’m not saying that I do not like your new videos, I love them too!
Lol, thanks for watching!
Beared Buffalo Breakdown featuring Ryan and AJ. Well done, fellas. Ya just gotta love a blind. Blinds take away the preconceptions and let your brain tell you what you really like. Nicely done. Cheers.
Lol, you are soo right! I've done a lot of blinds and this one takes the cake, lmao. I was absolutely shocked, if ya couldn't tell. Thanks!
I couldn’t believe it….that I was at least 25% right. Which, of course, is more than some people can say. But honestly, I was dumbfounded.
Just wait AJ......you know what they say about payback......lol.
I really enjoyed this review. It was real. ER is my go to bourbon. Cheers.
Thanks, it was fun to put these in a blind and I was shocked at the results, as you can tell. I still can't believe that glass was eagle rare....lmao.
New to bourbon collecting, and I love the candor and honesty of this video and a blind taste. Still "finding" my palate, but I know what I like. I enjoy being surprised and think more people would be shocked that the more "expensive and exclusive" bottles don't rank in personal blind flights. Keep up the good work!
Thanks and welcome to the hobby!
OK, the was the most hilarious tasting I have ever watched and it made me subscribe! Love the chemistry you two have and yes, the pour was still too deep! I can still see how much was still left over in each glass. As for the blind, it didn't pan out for me in my prediction - I was thinking Eagle Rare would win or at least do better than being last. That's an awesome line up and love the descriptions of the notes. They say our tastes evolve over time as does the bottles and perhaps things will change again. Totally entertaining video and thank you for the shout out!!!
Thanks Thomas. As absolutely, unequivocally, undeniably, embarrassingly wrong as Ryan was, it was great fun. We really enjoy the blinds. I’m also, now, a proud owner of a couple Weller bottles. We appreciate your support and thank you again for watching.
Hey Thomas Thanks!!! As you can see.....AJ will be hanging on to this brief victory for an absolutely, unequivocally, undeniably, embarrassingly long time. LOL This was a ton of fun and I was totally shocked by the results. I like Blanton's, I just can't believe I picked it in this lineup. I think we must have a rematch sometime in the future. Thanks again for watching!
blantons is worth the extra price considering its a single barrel expression and also the originator of the single barrel craze. they deserve the extra clout, they've earned it with their excellent marketing strategies
In Chicago..I just picked up Weller Sp Resr, and Eagle
rare both for $ 35 a piece
same. and blantons for $70 all three at once last week
love the comparison and review. I prefer the eagle rare out of this batch but Never had the hancock. thanks and cheers
Cheers!
Good stuff
And I have 3 back up bottles of Eagle Rare atm just so I do not run out as it is my go to old fashion mixer and was my daily sipper for a long long time
Glad you enjoyed
Eagle Rare is definitely a solid pour and makes a great old fashioned
I think the flavor profiles are close enough for most of the Buffalo Trace distillery products that the fluctuation of taste from year to year and barrel to barrel can and will influence your preference. Currently at my location, the standard Buffalo Trace and Eagle Rare are in the 25 to 40 dollar range, the WL Weller and Hancock's Reserve sit in the 50 to 60 dollar range, and the Blanton's comes in at 80 to 120 dollars. I'm just lucky that they're still available at the local grocery store, but I'm in no rush to tell people where to look, since most of the time no one knows they're available. What I'm looking for is the Eagle Rare 17 to see if all the commotion validates that it actually tastes good.
Please note - It's my understanding that the Eagle Rare 10 year, that is standard, was originally a single barrel a few years back, and that it still is primarily composed of single barrel composition except that the processing has changed where the filling of the bottles does not halt after each barrel used and liquid from one barrel to the next will mix with previous barrels inside the processing line. So, yes, it is correct that the flavor profile for Eagle Rare will change from bottle to bottle, but it will not change dramatically as if the whiskey was from a different source or mash bill 1. What's different is that the video made a preference for mash #2 of Blanton's and/or thought the WL Weller should have been placed differently for a wheated mash which usually is priced much higher. Not particular irritated that anything was wrong with the video, since, they're all coming from the same distillery. Everything was fine.
Thanks for watching, Cheers!
What state are you in Fturla?
I currently have Blanton’s and Eagle Rare on my bar cart and tbh, I think Eagle Rare is a tad better. I’d much rather get 2 bottles of Eagle Rare for my money verses spending $60 on Blanton’s.
Hey Donavan! I think AJ and I both agree with you on this. That's why I was sooo shocked when I picked Blanton's. Maybe it was just the day, but I really thought that Eagle Rare would easily win it. I want to have a rematch sometime in the future to see if it was just an off day, lol. Btw.....email me that honey hole where you're getting ER and Blanton's for retail...LOL!!! Seriously though, thanks for watching man, we appreciate you!
@@ThoseBourbonGuys of course bro! I’m debating if I want to start a channel soon.. I will be emailing you soon.
@@donavan4387 Don't email these guys with our supply source, Donavan. We keep that to ourselves... via email, to make sure we are talking about the same place, of course.
@@donavan4387 do it
Why not?
Your opinion matters just as much as theirs
DO IT
unpopular opinion but agreeing with your results. blantons and weller do edge out eagle rare for me
Still not sure what your picks were.
Hilarious. Got a sub out of me. I have had all except wellers. Mostly drink blantons. Going to pick up a bottle of wellers now to see for myself.
Cheers
Family Fued you say? just bring in GTS for mash bill 1 king, Blantons SFTB for mash bill 2 king, WLW for the wheated king, and Sazerac for the rye king.
Awesome vid, this is why we blind folks
Cheers!
Buffalo Trace tastes better when I get down to the last third of the bottle.
That could make sense. 😆 Cheers
Y’all being nasty.
