I am SO here for the crochet! As an avid knitter I had to take a little knit break due to some tendonitis issues I was having so I hopped on back to my crochet roots. I also dove into Tunisian crochet as well and am loving it. Toni has been a great help. Keep the crochet content coming!

I love trying new things, but have a very high threshold for not wanting to buy new things. Something that's been helpful to me personally is seeing if I can do the thing without buying anything, and then if I do the thing and like it, I will invest in the thing. One example, three years ago, I decided I wanted to learn the ukulele. Ukuleles are not expensive instruments, but I didn't want to spend $50 and end up with something I never used and just made me feel guilty every time I saw it. I discovered that our local library had ukuleles to check out, so I checked one out for 30 days and challenged myself to practice every day for those 30 days. I did it, really enjoyed it, and ended up deciding it was worth the purchase. Obviously, you can't practice run everything before spending money, but it's helpful to see what you can do BEFORE investing money, and if you stick with it, then spend the money.

So glad you’re enjoying crochet! I crocheted for years… all sorts of items. Then taught myself to knit. I actually had to stop w the blankets/afghans…. I have plenty!! Gifting one is nice, but a commitment for sure. I switch between the 2 crafts, keeps my brain happy! Glad crochet is bringing you joy & keep spreading the word!

Okay, that is so cool! As you were talking about your Tunisian shawl and frogging it, I was working on my Tunisian crochet project. It’s pretty simple and repetitive, but I’m using a yarn with a color gradient. Then you shared your next project by Toni and it’s the Mulberry!! That’s what I’m working on. How fun! 👏🏼😁

So cool to see you still embracing the crochet!! I totally feel the take over. I have been crocheting a lot in the last 2 or 3 months. I picked up my knitting (a pair of socks) and it lasted 2 days and I was back to crocheting. I think it's the bit of instant satisfaction we get at the end of a project 🧡

So in the last two weeks, I've frogged my first sweater project so I could start my first Flax Light, learned the basics of tatting because I found a haul of hand-dyed silk cordonnet at my local thrift store, while still continuing to work on a pair of socks for my son, who is a triple wide size 12. Tatting has consumed most of my free time. Oh! I also found a book of crochet hexagons that I'm going to use for my scrap yarn and then eventually assemble a bedspread out of.

Welcome to the wonderful world of crochet, Kristin. I knit and crochet (and sew and embroider and...) and usually have at least two knit and crochet items on the needles and hooks. I have made two Fruit Garden throws, 4 Persian Tiles, 2 Frida's Flowers and a Mystical Lanterns scarf (not yet complete) and more by Janie. I took a class with her at EYF in 2019 and she is really great. Also check out Dedry Uys (Lookatwhati made). Her designs are wonderful as well. Her Sophie's Universe went viral a few years ago and of course I jumped on the bandwagon and made two.

That has been my disappointment with knitted//crocheted blankets is all the pulls from kitty kneading etc. They blankets are beautiful but not very useable for me because of this.
