    Lovely episode! But oh my goodness! I’ve only just got used to saying “that’s my jam” and now I have to learn a new one - “ that’s my wheelhouse” ! 😂😂😂😂

    Kristen! I literally gasped out loud when you said you've never knit with your handspun! I highly highly encourage you to try it! My most satisfying and fun knits have been with my handspun, it is so much fun! 😊

    Still waiting for the pandemic to end. I just wanted to create a tiny little space for all my immunocompromised friends who are more exposed now than earlier in the pandemic because of decreased precautions. We can't forget about their struggle.

    I agree you need to start knitting with your handspun. definitely worth it. also I feel like so much changed because of the pandemic, and we're still re-starting from it. so many supply lines are still affected, so many cogs in the machine are needing oiling again since they were unused for as long as they were. I love your haul.

    Hi! I just wanted to say thank you for the wonderful video! As always I adore your wit and turns of phrase, as well as content! Please consider the Stephen West Rockefeller shawl for your loops skeins - the rusty color as MC and purple as CC would be (imo) a beautiful, autumn sunset mood and I think you would totally rock it as an evening-out shawl. 🧡💜

    So funny to hear you say that spinning is in the horizon. I was not interested in spinning until Maryland Sheep and Wool festival this year when a spinner I met there almost talked me into buying a raw fleece to take home and spin! 😅 So , from rhinebeck I bought a couple of roving (one cormo roving from Fox Hill Farm 😉) and a drop spindle. I think there will be spinning in my horizon too!

    Love the Brien pattern and yarn choice. For the other two Loop skeins, I’m getting a Georgia Farrell vibe. She has some great architectural designs.

    Thank you for the recap...it looks like alot of fun, and such a pretty setting with the fall foliage...I would love to go one day, it seems like another world as I live in the desert...
    I just need to comment, I agree with your comment on how we mark the passing of time, before the pandemic, after the pandemic...heavy sigh...

      The foliage alone is worth the trip. Hudson Valley trees know how to put on a show! 😆

    Enjoyed your Rhinebeck recap! I so wish I’d have checked out Foxhill Farms and Loops booths because your “haul” is so lovely (and restrained!) and I somehow managed to completely miss checking those two out. There is such a plethora of choices at these festivals that I quickly get overwhelmed and my brain checks out and has decision paralysis! 😂

    • @Voolenvine
      @Voolenvine  Рік тому

      I can totally relate to decision paralysis! Especially in a place like Rhinebeck lol! I'm sure you still came away with a gorgeous haul, Rhonda!

    Kristin, I love your Foxhill Farms yarn. Beautiful color choice. That will make a beauiful sweater. I like the idea of of it with cables. The poet sweater would be lovely on you. I am a spinner, and I really LOVE spinning, almost more than knitting. I do knit with my handspun and it is magical. I would love to see you knitting with your handspun. At least try it once. Ha! I love that Okapi sweater and the concept of the Yin/Yang yarn. Yes, by all means, get Telulah down from the attic! I'd love to see your spinning. And I absolutely adored this podcast. Your taste is exquisite. I'm going to be going to a fiber festival in the midwest, where I live, in early November. I am on a very limited budget, so I'll be going with a "game plan" inspired by you.

    • @Voolenvine
      @Voolenvine  Рік тому

      Thank you so much, Chelle! 💖 You know what? I lied. 😳 I actually did knit with my own handspun back in 2014 😂 I *completely* forgot about this shawl: www.ravelry.com/projects/voolenvine/tan-house-brook-shawl ... and these Tiny Birds of Happiness: www.ravelry.com/projects/voolenvine/bluebird-of-happiness I Looking back on them reminds me how satisfying it was! and I have a feeling Tallulah will be making an appearance very soon! I hope you enjoy the fiber fest!!

    I went on Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday I wanted to crawl into a hole and hide. It was waaaaaayyyy too crowded and too many poeple to weave through to look in the booths. I think I will only be a Sunday person. I didn't really enjoy the festival on Saturday to be honest.

    Lovely to find you, you seem very intelligent and a nice person. If you go back to 15.22-15.37 mins in and listen to what you actually said….you hit the nail on the head, yes we are at war, a global war, it started in March 2020, it’s a war on information and about control, not for safety but total control of everything and every citizen globally. Silent weapons for a quiet war. I get lost in my knitting for my own sanity like we all do. Btw have you thought about asking your mother in law to spin that yarn fleece from Loop for you?
