I have 1 tank, 1 anti large mortar and 2 hellstorms, what am I doing wrong ? I have found myself in situations where everyone but Gelt and a tank were wiped out. I had to micro them so hard to win against a few groups of infantry, a lord and a hero

This! This is why I play Empire and it is why Empire is one of my favorite factions to play as. However, you need more guns in your armies. Guns of the Empire is an awesome mod that adds more gun units. Nothing better than having artillery missiles fly over head towards an approaching enemy army while they are being shot at with hundreds of bullets. Brings a manly tear out of my eye due to how beautiful it is. Many of the gun units are also decent infantry units as well if the enemy even gets that close.
I love how most of the gelt videos i have seen they use paranoid by black sabath, it honestly feels like the community agreed that paranoid is balthasar gelt’s theme and honestly i agree.

i was recently looking back in the videos i watched about Warhammer and i found this masterpiece again this is what got me in to total war Warhamer and i dont regret a single hour of this amazing game
I only just started an empire campaign with Karl, first camp in fact(well turn 50+) I got to the point of getting deathclaw for Karl and hellstorm and stuff and VC assh*les are really annoying me. Should I just meme with it and get MORE artillery? Is there a mod to have higher army limit? What should I do? Also having some money problems should I go full orc and raid and sack?
Straight up spam halberds crossbows and hellstorm, add some heros to agro the enemies for crowd control, watch armies turn into Ypres circa 1916 or Verdun, profit greatly Oh and get light wizards for net of amynotk to pin them down so they eat your tsar Bomba like true warriors
As Vietnam has shown, VC’s biggest weakness is artillery, danger close! But seriously yeah, also, If it’s Warhammer 2 make Gelt deal with the VC. He gets bonus damage with artillery and he’s an extremely powerful wizard
Oh and also if it's a mod for money or military, I personally cheat like it's no problem because who's to hold me down, I just use the voodoo economics mod as your first army is completely free and slowly incrementally increases with each army but it also makes growth go through the roof and trade stacks up more and more, I played with the TEB mod as Estalia and I stretched from west estalia to akendorf of the former border princes and I was making 30000 by turn 50, but for fairness probably just get guns of the empire it adds gun variety or the reiksguard all in one it gives variety in melee but I hardly use melee when Franz and his captain gang eat blade while helstorm and crossbow/gunners shot at the clumps of enemies
Empire is the "combined arms" lot of their units have good synergy - personally I used hellstorms+mortars+gunners+crossbows with frontline of halberds with greatswords as a general Gelt with buffs to artilery and magic. But for example more mobile army with outriders with grenade launchers can do a number vs VC/orcs
Don't lie to us; this is your highlight reel. Also, just so ya know, you can run your entire army into the corner near the wall during a siege and just spam your searing doom until you've used up your winds of magic to win pretty much every siege battle.
