We loaded 1 decoy and deployed the towed array. Seems we do have quite a bit of water under us.
We found 3 surface ships: an Udaloy, a Sovremenny, and the Kirov. There could be more hostile vessels out there, but we will deal with them as we find them.
Remember, a Sturgeon-class sub only has two torpedo control channels. We got two torpedoes out to south-southeast for 8 km, then south-southwest.
Our first torpedo caught the Udaloy, and our second torpedo managed to catch up to the Sovremenny. Both are sunk. A Soviet maritime patrol Bear showed up, but it came nowhere near us being more interested in where they first heard my torpedoes, which is well to the south.
We detected a contact way to the south, sounded like a Victor III, too far to hit though.
And the Kirov is heading back in, even though it should have run away.
We got 2 more torpedoes out, one above and one below the thermal layer, wondering if we had a chance to hit Victor III. However, as the torpedoes approach the Kirov, Victor III is nowhere to be heard. So, I sent both torpedoes to seek Kirov... and both connected, sending Kirov to a roll over then to the bottom.
As chances to catch Victor III seemed minimal, I disengaged.
