With regards to the L/R thing in japanese: So it's a little unintuitive but there is neither L nor R. From their perspective they are only concerned with らりるれろ. These are characters that are commonly transcribed as ra, ri, ru, re and ro, but that's only because the pronunciation for these sounds is something that's not exactly like L or like R but somewhere in the middle. It means either L or R sounds get transformed into the same set of syllables when converting into japanese, and trying to turn these japanese sounds into english or otherwise can be a bit of gamble sometimes. There's a number of similar examples besides l and r. V is not a sound that exists natively in japanese, and though modern reforms have introduced the means to represent it in japanese, it is still by and large pronounced like B. Another classic example that has spawned passionate disagreements is how the 'th' sound like in 'this' or 'therapy' doesnt exist in japanese either, and is typically represented with す(su). Which led to the Final Fantasy 7 character エアリス having her name initially translated as Aeris, before later being changed to Aerith.
In the end, there are roman letter official translations of OP character names, so we know his name is supposed to be pronounced Enel, not Eneru. This Eneru thing is just one of those downsides of fansubs, they love their japanisms. We can see its supposed to be written and pronounced Enel in the OP card game, OP video games, any official OP product basically where you can see or hear his name translated. Its the same as how some fansubs used to call the town of the beginning and the end Roguetown because it sounds like the japanese VAs are saying that, but the town literally has a gate with roman letters saying "Loguetown" and this was literally drawn by Oda.

The real name is Enel. Eneru is just an engrish spelling of it because indeed the L sound does not exist in japanese. But you can see the real name is Enel from things like official Bandai One Piece Card Game, in the English release cards his name is written Enel.
@@UltimateGamerCC How does that make sense? As an American you should say Enel. The Japanese would say Enel too if the L sound existed in Japanese pronunciation, but it doesn't.
