Great intro to the video! Im curious on your thoughts to the increasing blurring of the lines between a "SUV" and car. You related this to a RS6 on stilts, is it just a height advantage, you can come close with cargo space with a non SUV offering. I understand that these are huge sellers, across many brands, I just scratch my head at the fact that many flock to them, when a RS6 Avant, can do this and more. As an example. Keep up the great content!!
its great when the driver/reviewer makes deliberate effort to communicate the character of the car, the nuances, the experience. Quite a few don't do that, instead reading off official data on engine, 0-60, rear space...and the driving part is reduced to "wow, this thing really goes!". this review is among the best ones.

supee Weight not as in just purely the weight of the car. We’re talking about Towing and loading capacity basically being being abolished on what is a vehicle that’s purpose is for towing and off-roading (supposedly). A quick google search online will explain it at a higher depth.
So, Porsche fit's an standard automatic gearbox so you can tow a lot and gives you the option to place both exhaust pipes in the centre so there is no place left for a tow hook...
A request if I may. I'm not sure if you are trying to stick to a time limit but it would be great if we get more footage of the car from outside with your speak over during the vid. Just would be nice to see more of a great looking car. Cheers.
My wife drives a Macan, which is a great SUV, but this looks even better. But, DON’T get a sports exhaust with twin tail pipes in the middle with a vehicle like this. You’ll burn your legs off loading anything in the back. Twin tail pipes in the middle on a 911, great. On an SUV, not so much.
In regards to not using a PDK, Porsche always said they want you to be able to tow your race car to the track using a Cayenne. When designing the original Cayenne, they targeted a towing capacity of a trailer, 911 and a full set of track wheels. It makes sense for them to keep this idea even in a Cayenne GTS.
what nice thorough review!! already on the waiting list for a GTS but the gear box is my concern as well, is the kick-down still sluggish in the sport/sport+ mode? how about using the paddle to manually down shift the gears would that diminishes the sluggishness? thanks
Hi, I have porsche 911 but now I'm thinking about cars with more sits. What would you recommend and why? I'm thinking Macan S(2022) or Cayenne S coupe or Panamera Sport Turisumo.
453 HP, 22 inch tires, multi piston brakes...wow. ok to be a transmission snob as you know what you like. From a specific driver's niche perspective, could this be a daily driver for you? Also, should the steering wheel be on the other side?
I agree with you 100% James, They should have put the PDK dual-clutch transmission in the car, An option for a full leather interior would be nice too, As always, a great video. This channel has become my favorite petrolhead hangout, even more so than Tim's channel which is rather stale these days. There's a small channel I like as well called "TheCarGuys,TV" that I can highly recommend.
The entire car is stupid. It's bad at being a sports car, it's bad at being a daily driver coz it's too big, and it's too expensive to take off road. It's a car for showoffs and trophy wives.
Nice review as always James but you’re skirting around the answer to your own question - which you know full well that the SUV Porsche range are breathed on Audi’s - in this case an RSQ8, which is why it has the same engine and gearbox ! Same reason Audi fit the ZF8 speeder to the RS6 as you mentioned previously (used everywhere - my SVR Range Rover has it as well!). This car looks so good, but i am disappointed by Porsche sound compared to let's say Range Rover SVR or F-Pace SVR which are like proper brutal wild beast.

How has it had bespoke settings surely they are just model specific and the same for all Cayenne GTS Coupe ??? Also with regards to the gearbox.
