Great video Jason Well Done, very informative i've been looking for a video like yours for years on how to do CMYK properly , everyone else seems to miss out a step or two but yours is so easier to understand !! Thanx heaps and hello from Australia
Thank you so much! I've been liking for a video to help me and yours was so easy to follow. I'm going to try it and then let you know how it turns out!
THAN YOU SO MUCH!!! I've been meaning to learn to do this for so long and over-complicated it in my head.. This was so helpful! Thanks again for sharing
I can do the same thing in one minute. Just make sure that you work in CMYK-mode. Under Filter -> Pixelate -> Color halftone... Fill in the radius in pixels and the angles in CMYK-order. Voila! Now you can do the separation of the four channels as described in the clip.
@@watersinc.519 when you print in CMYK each layer of color is composed of thousands and thousands of tiny dots, and each layer has to align with the others in certain angles so the colors blend and create the illusion of different colors. There’s a term you can search called moiré pattern if you want to go further into it
Thank you for this video! For any other newbies like me who get lost if something doesn't work.... in the most recent versions of Photoshop creative cloud - version 22, since you no longer can use the line tool in pixel mode, it worked for me to use the pencil tool, just make sure to increase the pixels after changing it to pure black like he says in the video or you might not be able to see the line you have drawn. And when using the pencil tool and using the blue guidelines, you don't need to use the shift key to draw a straight line.
If you want to print on a dark garment and you want a white layer, do you flip the black channel and put that layer underneath all and what would be the angle of the white channel? what is the dot size so it is not thick on garment?
This is so cool, cant wait to try it out. I had to google the screen angles thing having never dealt with CMYK seps before - is there a reason you chose this combo over say the 105, 90, 75, 15 degree set up?
I Love your helpful video. Thanks. When I do the registration marks in my layer window(box) shows layers there but not you, when I'm looking at your screen you don't have extra layers showing (I got 2 monitors) Do I'm doing something wrong?
because otherwise the colours would all overlap each other and you wouldn't see them eg yellow covered with cyan and magenta and black and you won't see the colour watch this for a simple explanation ua-cam.com/video/qooBg20wYLU/v-deo.html
Thanks man. Im using PS 2021 and I was able to follow without any problems. I will burn the screens tomorrow and see how the design comes out. The only question I have is about frequency. What are you looking at when determining what frequency is right? Are you looking for details on the artwork? opacity? Or you have to actually screen print the design and make changes base on the results you get?
detail on the artwork, lines and edges crisp, while accounting for the silk screen mesh count, the higher the mesh, the more frequency you can apply (detail)
Gendo3s2k yes there is a reason, if you don't choose it then the colors will begin to overlap on each other, you might also end up having some linear patterns on your shirts or whatever you are printing on.
about the settings on bitmap. angle settings that you put are the standard settings? ) black 45 freq 15 ,yellow angle 0 ,magenta angle 75, cyan angle 15... when you print this on tshrit which color should be the first to be print? thank you
your image needs to be background layer. Simply select the layer, then go to 'layer' menu on top, then 'new', then 'layer from background'. Now go to that layers channels and do split channel.
If you are printing on any other color other than white, you'll have to lay a white under base for the CMYK layers. You'll then need more than a 4 color press.
What about the background white?? wouldnt that show when you print? shouldnt you (select, color range, change sampled colors to highlights, hit ok, then backspace once)to delete the background???
you don't print the white. the printers don't have a white color... that's the color of the paper and when we print to transparency the white is... transparent.

Is there a specific reason for number for angles?

you don't need to add manual guidelines you can add them automatically
thank you for this!
Stunning !
So amazing work sir

The best tutorial on this thanks.
I disagree, it's poor!! See this guy ua-cam.com/video/qooBg20wYLU/v-deo.html
thank you so much so easy and very clear good VDO CMYK for screenprinting
Very helpful!!! thank you for your knowledge .
thank you, I always wonder how you print four colors on stuff. I will definitely be trying this.
Thank you, its very clear tutorial

thanks, awesome video!!!!!!
Gracias Jason, estupenda referencia.
LOVELY VIDEO THANKS
Where are u getting the angle numbers from ?
Thank you so much for this
awesome !
Very very wonderful
Should I also use Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Black colored paints when I silkscreen it on the shirt?

please answer his question, wondering the same thing myself
Watch this video and he explains the science behind the angles. AMAZINGLY GOOD ua-cam.com/video/qooBg20wYLU/v-deo.html
Ff
Nice, how would you do the white underbase? Thanks!
kudos thanks sir!
THANK YOU SOOOOOO MUCH
Nice!
You are Best Thank u
good day sir.. may ask.. WHAT if not to change anything in the BLACK panel to make the line straight.
Thank you very much
I Love your helpful video. Thanks. When I do the registration marks in my layer window(box) shows layers there but not you, when I'm looking at your screen you don't have extra layers showing (I got 2 monitors) Do I'm doing something wrong?
is this way of layout can be use in silk screen printing?
Thanks a lot for this Vid
Sir, which software are you using ? 🙏🙏. Nice detailing 😀👍👍
thank you
great video- most helpful so far! thank you.
wondering- why a different angle per color?
because otherwise the colours would all overlap each other and you wouldn't see them eg yellow covered with cyan and magenta and black and you won't see the colour watch this for a simple explanation ua-cam.com/video/qooBg20wYLU/v-deo.html
THANKS
Helpful
I did it just like you said but it doesn’t separate the colors like it did for you? What am I doing wrong?
Thank you
Thanks Bro...

what about adding highlight white as well as base white for dark shirts??
do you need rip software to print film positives? thanks for the vid!
Why you choose color black when you decided to change the color?
I’m almost there I just can’t fill the colors like you did at the end. The fill button is grayed out😔😔
Nice
Thanks you 🙏
you must put cross after halftone and you make colors multiply for nice view it is ok for print house but in screen print that colors cover each other
nonsense, that's why you use different angles for each colour
💖
ughh i forgot reg marks and now trying to drag into another file, not happening!!! but ty for the tutorial good job
what screen mesh will you use in the cmyk settings you put
120
is there a reason why you chose those specific angles for the halftone colors?
Gendo3s2k yes there is a reason, if you don't choose it then the colors will begin to overlap on each other, you might also end up having some linear patterns on your shirts or whatever you are printing on.
Is it always the same angles for the colors he used?
yes, they're always like that, here's a easy explanation why www.csuchico.edu/~rpenne/screening/ScreeningBasics.html hope that helps :)
I have screen printers that say I must have a vector graphic. Does this make a vector graphic, or is it still a raster image?
When i split the black channel it becomes grey why
Thank you ..fr the phi.
about the settings on bitmap. angle settings that you put are the standard settings? ) black 45 freq 15 ,yellow angle 0 ,magenta angle 75, cyan angle 15... when you print this on tshrit which color should be the first to be print? thank you
the order isYMCK. hope that helps
lol..category is set @ Comedy ...nevertheless very informative, thanks !.:)
Hi..! This is a great tutorial.
I just have a question.
Is there standard amount or number that most screen printers use for the Frequency and Angle?
For decorated apparel you want 55 frequency and 61 degrees for all plates.
@@randalldesignd9857 Utter utter nonsense. YOU have no idea what you're talking about
watch this explanation ua-cam.com/video/qooBg20wYLU/v-deo.html
WOW
so I heard you say hello was zero how do you get the value?
Jason why did you prefer the Adobe 8?
in this whole video i was wondering the same ..lol
help my image diddnt go back to normal doing the edit >fill thing it went like pure black and looks like a bad photocopy what did i do wrong
why did u use "multiply" in the final? is to see how will it look when screenprinting?
Yes
hell fucking yeah!!! \m/
i didn't get the angle.. pls help me to understand.. thanks
hey just want to ask..what kind of ink can i used to print it into transparency paper?..thanks dude..
regular printer ink
on the image I'm working at, the split channel button is greyed out. Why is it so?
your image needs to be background layer. Simply select the layer, then go to 'layer' menu on top, then 'new', then 'layer from background'. Now go to that layers channels and do split channel.
thank u sir
HOW TO CONVERT A DIGITAL PRINT INTO A PVC SCREEN PRINTING FOR WATER TRANSFER PAPER ??
I have learned from this video but I have one question to ask..how can you determine the percentage of the angle in half tone screen..thanks
Dead ass don't know what angles to use
watch this ua-cam.com/video/qooBg20wYLU/v-deo.html
Is there a white underbase layer I use?
Say I wnat a design for a black shirt using CMYK
What do I do?
If you are printing on any other color other than white, you'll have to lay a white under base for the CMYK layers. You'll then need more than a 4 color press.
That does not work with a photo how do you do those?
👍👍👍👍
So what files do you send to the printer? The psd with multiply layers or the pdfs with cyan, magenta, yellow, and black?
you send the pdfs to the printer to use for print. the multiply layer was to get an idea of what it will look like once printed
What about the background white?? wouldnt that show when you print? shouldnt you (select, color range, change sampled colors to highlights, hit ok, then backspace once)to delete the background???
you don't print the white. the printers don't have a white color... that's the color of the paper and when we print to transparency the white is... transparent.
hat version of Photoshop do i Need?
