Always a pleasure to listen to Bill. I became a fan of Bill because of this song as well as a fan of Diane Warren. This song sounds great on acoustic guitar. "I don't want to live without your love" also by Diane Warren, sounds great on acoustic guitar with a slightly slower tempo. At least I've tried it and I enjoy it. I kind of prefer the acoustic version of Look Away over the studio one. As long as Bill sings it.
Freedom, Follow your heart, Get high, Sons of Champlain, band or incredible musicians, with vibes and a incredible Lou Rawls style vocalist Bill Chaplin.✌❤👍
Bill was the best " new addition" to Chicago as we all know it....him and Robert Lamm's voices were soooo huge for Chicago!!! and carried alot of those magical tunes!!! Jason Scheff was also an awesome replacement for Pete Cetera after his departure.. Chicago 16 ..17 and 18 have always been my favorites but your a complete FOOL if you don't acknowledge the musicianship. Writing.. vocals and guitar wizardry of the late great Terry Kath!!! He sang and played the first albums thru to his horrific accidental death in Jan 1978 RIP!!!..it was Jimi Hendrix himself that said Terry Kath was better than himself!!...and was quoted as saying .."He's the best guitarist in the universe" they were great friends!..
what a nice interview. Figures, she's a player so she recognizes Bill's very special and wide ranging talent. BTW, this tune is by Diane Warren. An interesting choice given the huge catalog he has compiled writing wise by himself and with his wife Tamara.
I think when you're the voice on a hit that massive, it probably becomes the reflexive first choice in any situation where the goal is to sell tickets.
He has class, unlike Jimmy Pankow of Chicago who seems to like trashing Champlin and Peter Cetera. The rest of Chicago needs to retire. They no longer have a great lead singer like Champlin or Cetera.
Don't get me wrong, I like Bill and think he is a talented musician. But I never felt he was a good mix with Chicago. Yes, he and David Foster helped put Chicago back on the charts, but it really wasn't the same band. The brass section of the band was nearly shoved out of the band to make room for this new sound. The horn section was what made Chicago unique. Foster and Champlin turned Chicago into just another run of the mill AM radio band.
lets face it though , clearly they just didnt set enough time aside for serious writing otherwise Foster has to find someone else to play with. They got lazy creatively and with Terry gone i think things got messed up.
Chicago had to evolve regardless unless they wanted to fade away like Steely Dan. Their competitiveness in the 80s as they all hit middle age was phenomenal.
2024 and im falling in love with this song😢😢.. look away baby look away
still listening in 2024
The best of the "replacements" Chicago had. Love the musical genius of Bill.
First time I heard Bill Champlin was a Sons album in the 70s and have been a fan ever since
An amazing musician.
Bill Champlin 2024!!
What an under-appreciated talent.
Bill Champlin мой любимый певец в группе Chicago go
1989 Song of the Year!
This guy has such a cool voice!
I think Bills heart was with the music of the sons of Champlin and Chicago was his day job ,a great paying gig.
That right
When asked to sum up his years with Chicago, his answer was simply "Steady work". They dissed him repeatedly (allegedly)
Bill is a soulful singer. I love this song. 💙
Serious chops on this guy. One of the very best in the biz, master of every instrument.
Bill's voice is amazing...
Great singer/love Chicago!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Fairly unknown even though he was a member of a little band named Chicago
And a band he started in 1965 called the Son's of Champlin
This was my senior prom song in 1989. We voted as a class. 'Im with you" by Sherriff was the other song. But this song won. Great tune! Im 52 now.
Class of '89 here too. I love these songs that were popular at that time. 😊
Oh my God he still sounds good
He still sounds so good.i love bill and jason of chicago.good tandem. ❤️
Not many voices could fill the void left by Terry Kath... Champlin has great pipes
Also terry was an excellent guitarist just check out what Jimi said about him!!
Miss Bill and Peter from the band 🎉
Bill Champlin vocals are like the key ingredient to topping a song into a hit. Unsurpassed vocally... By the way. His wife Tamara is from Houston...
Wonderful....love Bill's voice.
Sons of Champlin great 60s & 70's San Francisco band , wish they would tour again .
Mr AOR. Bill is favorite singer. Blue eyed soul singer. I respect him.
Smooth voice
Bill Champlin is awesome talented man!
If putos

Bill's voice I most identify as truly Chicago.
Charles Rodrigues ... ”truly Chicago”..(?)... alrighty-then .........not
I love Bill but Lamm, Cetera and Kath's voices are true Chicago.
So effortless, wonderful
Sons of Champlin devotee in 1968. Went to Fillmore West all the tome. etc Check some live you-tubes.
Love you Bill Chamblin
Freedom, Follow your heart, Get high, Sons of Champlain, band or incredible musicians, with vibes and a incredible Lou Rawls style vocalist Bill Chaplin.✌❤👍
This are those real musicians...
🙏❤️
Love his voice...love all of the Chicago bands.
Bill is one cool 😎 guy

Still amazing voice, so manly
Bill you did a good job on Look Away !!
love him great singer!
Check out The Sons of Champlin.
Going to see them this summer. Love Bill
The most beautiful underrated song of Chicago
He also sang the theme song from"In the heat of the night"
Did not know that!

My respct
I love ChicaGo
Love Bill remind me of Winwood .
Bill does his best in this and so many interviews to dodge talking about his time with Chicago by redirecting the conversation.
Mark Paul don't know if you caught it but he trashed Walt's flute playing...
Peter M You’re right and he cleverly disguised it in a compliment.
Walt was overrated anyway.
Bill doesn't seem to mind talking about Chicago in more recent interviews. Always offers a candid perspective.
@@peterm4486 And went out of his way to do it!
Genius
Bill still the best whit or whitout chicago comon 😊
노래너무좋습니다🤗
OMG he's awesome artist 👏👏🎵🎶👌
Great Song!
wish the damn video would load
Live without any members to back him , awesome!

I would have liked to have seen the host (reference at 2:15-2:45) playing flute on "Colour My World" with Bill and Walt. That would have been neat.
very cool perf
👏👍😁
Not as good as with the band... never the less this guy is amazing
Why doesnt bill call up Jason and Danny?
Matthew Dagnan he's actually in a band with Danny called CTA, California transit authority.
I think he is doing select shows with Danny this year...
Shut up and let the man sing. Thank you.
Jason Scheff.
He’s right on about that SAME generic chord change in most songs. That’s bc most of these musicians are musically deficient.
Not sure I’ve ever heard a mic sound more flat
Flat does have multiple meanings you know.
Jennifer Puhl I think they mean dry
Sure could’ve used some reverb on his mic and guitar.
He has class, unlike Jimmy Pankow of Chicago who seems to like trashing Champlin and Peter Cetera. The rest of Chicago needs to retire. They no longer have a great lead singer like Champlin or Cetera.
I don't know. He trashed Walt here with vigor.
crappy T5-c2 must be payed

Seriously Bill???? You are a great musician, but did you really have to take a cheap shot at Walter at about 2:30?
Randy R 1967-1981 was the Original Chicago Sound,1981-1990 was the Chicago 20 Period
lets face it though , clearly they just didnt set enough time aside for serious writing otherwise Foster has to find someone else to play with. They got lazy creatively and with Terry gone i think things got messed up.
Chicago was never the same after Terry Kath passed away. It is what is is.
Chicago had to evolve regardless unless they wanted to fade away like Steely Dan. Their competitiveness in the 80s as they all hit middle age was phenomenal.
Chicago without Cetera,Champlin,amd bailey? trash..
Looks like a gibson
Sounds a lot like peter
He sounds nothing like Peter.
Hell, Peter was long out of the band when this song was released.
Peter never sang this song!
lol that was funny
One crappy song!!
