  • MARTIAL BLADE CONCEPTS VOLUME 3
A Dynamic, Scalable Approach to Reflex Development
    Featuring Michael D. Janich
    www.staysafemed...
To defend yourself effectively against a sudden street attack, you have to have well honed reflexes; just "knowing a technique" is not enough. For centuries, practitioners of the Filipino martial arts have used reflex training or "flow" drills to achieve this goal. Through fluid repetitions of key patterns of motion, they literally program proper combative responses into your nervous system. They can also be scaled in intensity to create an extremely dynamic form of adrenal stress training that closely replicates real combat. In this extraordinary video, Michael Janich provides step-by-step instruction in MBC's flow drills, contrasting them with the traditional Filipino versions and defining the specific skills they develop. He also introduces the "chess game"-the process of spontaneously combining drills to create a dynamic training method that will take your reflexes to extreme levels. This video also includes never-before-seen instruction in the devastatingly simple De Cuerdas tactic and the secrets of dealing with "mismatched leads" (left vs. right).

I find it funny how most people talk smack about FMA's and how ineffective it is but I don't see any of these arm chair finger key masters going the Cebu city or Manila proving those claims, you may not make it back home.Just saying

I respect Mr. janichs approach especially in silat because being a 260lb. weight lifting westerner there is no way I would be able to be flexible doing certain dempok/dempok postures especially in a glass filled urban setting. he tailors his curriculim well for the urban westerner. there is no fluff or flash in his method.

Mike talking about the sciatic nerve cut with the left handed attacker made me cringe. As a guy suffering from serious sciatica over the past 3 years I can't even imagine what a blade must feel like cutting that nerve 😬

I agree with that statement, just had my third back surgery and a lot of sciatica issues.

@StaySafeMedia You might want to change the announcements of the drills. The announcements currently come after the drill has been demonstrated.

sounds like death to me. wounding a guy thats trying to kill you. if someone has pulled a knife and is attacking. you choice is already made up its kill or be killed.

If your enemy isn't able to lift his knee, you can run away and he cannot chase you. Murder is murder, and if police come you have to be able to justify anything you did to the other person.

Joey's Singing Channel yeah but for him to take out the leg he will have to deal withthe attack first. In his demo his student is compliant so he attacks stupid letting the teacher look good. When he would have been injured.

Keith Carter bull. its not for the military. if i was in the military i'd rather something better. then a guy that thinks self defence and wounding over killing your armed attacker that wants you dead.
