Have you tried the owner downshot hooks? These art light wire hooks but super strong. They are best used Texas style. I IIke size 1 or 1/0. They are also completely weedless.
I started using these VMC hooks, like how they keep the bait on the hook. It seems my bait also last longer, the smally you caught, towards the end of the video, that hook looked bigger then a size 2?
Good stuff Nathan. I drop shot fish and the way I see it you want to rig your worm/bait so that it presents itself horizontally. I used Berkley's The Champ minnow last week and caught a really nice one but, I also lost 3 baits on 4 fish caught. I was nose hooking with the hook point coming out the center of the nose. That doesn't catch much plastic and, I suppose that's why I lost the baits so quickly. I have some of those VMC Neko hooks from wacky style fishing but, my lake has all grass with no rocks or lay downs. your rigging of the worm wont work for me I guess. Any other way I can rig the minnow? Thanks.

A small nose hook would work!
