I have been struggling with placing the acrylic using the 4 ball method and even the 3 ball method but this has made so much more sense! :) I just got done doing a set on my practice hand and much more smoother than before and a nice apex without looking extremely thick, thank you for the tutorial.

      Hi Deandra! Honestly it doesn’t matter. I just show ways that might make it easier. So with this way I thought that maybe starting at the cuticle and working your way down, might be easier. I noticed that the nail was flat from the side, like seeing it from the side. I’ve seen other videos where they say that the apex has to be thicker because it’s the “stress point” so I was wondering what your opinion is on that basically

    • @Jammylita
      @Jammylita  3 роки тому

      Hi Karen! Great question! I have updated videos explaining the stress area and the apex. You are correct, the apex is important for strength. So you would follow this method and add an additional bead to your stress area or as many beads as you see fit to build your apex. ❤️

    Hi!! I'm investing in acrylics, since i've been doing well with polygel for a couple months. i was just worried about the monomer smell. have you tried the mia secret monomer? does it smell strong? on a scale of 1-10, ( 1 being no smell, 10 being extremely strong) how much does does mia secret monomer smell if pure acetone is a 5? Thank you! 💖

    • @Jammylita
      @Jammylita  3 роки тому +1

      Oh nice! I love that you are challenging yourself to try acrylic ❤️ I’m not confident putting a number on it but Mia Secret has a strong odor. In my opinion they all just smell different. Some are more tolerable than others. There are odorless and scented monomers if you’re looking to not stink up your space with the monomer smell. I hope that helps ❤️

    • @Jammylita
      @Jammylita  4 роки тому +1

      Hi Dawn! I do have a video about ratios!. The truth is, there are variables. The size of the brush and the acrylic you are using varies. The best way to get the ratio down is to practice with the products you have and get comfortable with picking up the beads. You can use a paper towel or a practice sheet. I hope that helps. 💖 Practice and consistency💝 I still work on both after all these years 😘

    I wonder if my acrylic powder is not good or I'm doing it wrong.🤕 It doesn't "set in" by it self it just comes on super thick and hard to smooth it down. It's a pink acrylic I got from a nail supply place

      @Jammylita  4 роки тому +1

      Hmm yeah I’d say try a different acrylic for sure 💕💕

      Thank you. Just add more acrylic or beads for thickness. The idea is to help with the application process. Thank you for watching 💗💕

    • @Jammylita
      @Jammylita  4 роки тому +1

      Hi Ava! Good question. You’ll be able to tell by the direction the bit is moving in. If it’s spinning to your right than it’s on forward and spinning to your left is on reverse. 💖
