Regarding the F30, When testing electrical circuits, test the whole circuit always before changing or condemning any parts, test for power, the load and ground. the ground that goes to the engine computer is for feedback purposes to let the computer know the action it commanded did actually happen, so by creating a ground that bypasses the computer it will still bring out trouble codes for that system, With the system on but not loaded, you can check the power side of that solenoid by back probing the connector , say for example you get 12v, then measure again on the ground side on the connector and get 12 again, then load the circuit while still measuring ground side, if you get anything but close to zero volts, you might have a high resistance problem on the ground wire, if the reading stays at source voltage (13V - 14.5V), you might have an open wire.

I have the same issue with my Toyota vvti. It’s been a while and I don’t have a engine light the only difference is that on cold start it’s rattles for a 2-3 seconds until it fills up with oil. Could this cause problem in future if I ignore it?

I was going to say the same thing regarding checking the entire circuit and not just the side of the component

Hey man love your videos. Need some advice. Have a 2019 grand i10 1.2. Uses a bit of oil . After 4000kms needs a litre. Is that normal?
