It is so true about how time seems to slow down so much in situations like this. You literally have 100 different scenarios play out in your mind in just a few seconds.
This is great and all...but did u crash a plane on purpose while carrying a person's ashes? That would make a great video...don't forget to get sponsors...
The word awesome in the dictionary is described as a situation that leaves you in awe and wonder, and that was awesome. The tree kick and the detailed explanation, how the slow Mo effect works, if it’s never happened to you you will never comprehend it. Imagine the things we could accomplish if it was by command. The very few times it has happened to me, has gotten me out of accidents but the funniest thing is that this awesome zone has more often saved me because I was doing something others would consider stupid. But, one of the reasons for doing it, In the words of Chris Cagle; Chicks dig it. The true thing was the way your friends supported you for nailing your landing. 👍
I've been in that "zone" during a crash too many times to count, but each time thereafter I'm always amazed at how time SEEMS to slow down, but in reality your brain is firing at such incredible speeds to aid you with the ability to asses your potential moves to come out of the situation relatively unscathed. Unless you've experienced it, you cannot truly understand just how incredible our brains actually are.
First off thank you Trevor for making these videos, you’re such a rad dude for sharing this with us all for entertainment and most importantly the life lesson anyone can gain from listening to ones stories. Your so inspiring, Brother🤘🏼🙏🏼💯 So inspiring I wanted to share one of mine. I rode motocross in socal for fun and at tracks for 15 years... I had a similar experience when I scorpioned going 75 mph over a dry lake bed and hit a bump as I was riding one handed on my stock dual sport wr250x(kitted out with 4”tall dirt knobbie tires, on the stock supermoto 17”rims)... we were doing a 120 mile loop from Baker to Barstow, my buddie Roy and I...April 11th 2010... anyways, so I hit the 1-2’ bump on the flat lakebed... I catapulted 70 feet forward but time slowed down & in a millisecond I thought of my 3 options to not get mangled... I had seen the bump at the last possible second to think toreach down with the other hand and push the eject button aka get ready to be launched... the other 2 options were 1. Click down a gear and launch/jump it? Nope not on a stock wr250... 2. Soak it up with the suspension? Nope not w the stock set up... so grab the bars amd get ready for launch was what was going to happen...In the air I was planning on doing a tuck and roll and hopefully tumble to somewhat a safe crash... I was going way to fast amd by the time I saw my odometer I slowed down to 65mph... right as i went to somersault my moto helmet visor and forehead area of the helmet caught the fresh dry lake bed and my butt and ankles hyperextended and smacked me in the back of the head... I folded like an extremely creased piece of paper per my buddies description of what he saw riding 50-100ft behind me... long story kinda short, I shattered my t12 into 3 separate pieces, severed my spinal cord membrane 100% and my raw unprotected spinal cord was compressed 40% almost severing it 100%... by so many blessings that day I made a full recovery AND ZERO PARALYSIS. Moral of the story... don’t haul the mail on uncharted areas whether it’s on a dirtbike in the desert or the freeway or your car on the highway... you never know when there might be that bump. ✌🏼🙏🏼💯🤘🏼
Your description of the mega adrenaline rush is almost perfect. When I rode drag bikes the first pass where the bike would pull hard would do this to me at the hit. Everything would slow way down including sound so I could hear every little detail. A second later at about the 60 foot mark everything would come back and it was the craziest sensation. Cool stuff and sweet video.
If I go to the track these days and they've got a 90ft tripple, I'm like nah I'm not hitting that. I don't know what kind of mental state you have to be in to do this
HOLY SHIT!!!! i've seen this clip *_DOZENS_* of times, and never realized that he *_KICKED THE FRUCKING TREE_* to hit the bag... If you didn't kick off the tree it looks like you would hit EVEN CLOSER to the edge. that was insane!!!! O_O glad you made it out of from that one! much love!
That slow motion thing has saved my life twice now.. one time I was climbing a cliff using vines that were growing down it, and at the top of this 120 foot cliff the vine snapped... And I was free falling. I had so many thoughts of what to do and what not to do it was crazy. I finally grabbed a vine to my left in time to not his the ground but my hands were torn up to hell. I was so close to the ground that after I came to a stop I just let go and fell about three feet to my feet.
Hahaha! Excellent! I know the feeling, headspace and buzz from many a stunt gone wrong! Brilliant story and footage! Thanks for sharing! Greetings from London!
"Things happen so quick. I have flipped dirt bikes hundreds of times, and this time, I intentionally bailed to be funny and land on my butt" is this the one where you bailed on purpose? or was that another video?
@Jacob Nelson I just always expect so see someone die. I am both a little disappointed and relieved each time someone pushes the bar a little higher and walks away from it.
That full commitment switch is what saves lives, too! We've all seen people get busted for not fully commiting. And that's one of the most exciting parts about jumping imo.. That split second before the lip of the jump, when you're so hyper-focused on what you're doing... knowing theres no turning back at this point... that feeling is a drug!!!
His description of how your brain kicks into gear is spot on. Your mind gets insanely sharp in those moments. It takes 5 minutes to explain a thought process that happens in milliseconds on the spot. I don't dirt bike but I do skate and mountain bike. I took a jump when I was a kid that had a low branch above it. Nothing too big or crazy but definitely air time. We had been hitting it all afternoon at increasing speeds and getting comfortable/dumb. We were going underneath the branch and it wasn't exactly "safe" but we weren't too worried either. That particular time I went way too fast and before I even took the jump I realized I was gonna get clothes-lined in mid-air like an idiot so I actually made the call to turn INTO the thickest part of the branch as I was jumping, basically committed to not even TRY to land on the bike. I ditched the bike in mid-air to my left and went straight for the branch like a monkey. I never hugged anything so tightly in my life but it held, and it was probably a 7 foot drop back down from that branch so nothing too crazy for a 12 year old. I could hear my bike getting owned by nature further down the trail and my buddies were freaking out. It made perfect sense in my head and I got lucky it worked out, but if you've been in a crash or something like this before you hear this guy's story and it's like YES that's it!
I have that same switch he talks about. Once I tell myself I'm doing something... I'm doing it, even with sirens going off in my head. Glad I'm still here
Great story. You explained it perfectly. I felt on the edge of my seat. Nice side kick. Don’t know how the hell you even managed to hit the tree with your foot. Amazing skill.
Awesome vid again trevor. Ive had that feeling a few times in my life when time slows down and everything is in slow motion. What a scary buzz. You madman. Love it ☘💚✌
He is so right , when these things happen things do slow down for just a moment and it is like you step out of what's happening for that split second to make a decision .
ive had mid air life or death and its exactly like he describes. everything slows down and you can think about everything you need to think about to save yourself. everything becomes so clear like you have eagle vision and you can kinda see the future its weird.
It kind of happens, not seeing in future for real but your mind giving you foreseeable outcomes in like 10 miliseconds and then you choose outcome in the instant and then you "lett it" happen (you just make peace with your toughts do a subtile movements and hope it plays out in your favor because what has been done is done) and then smash. I was accelerating car in the corner (not a great spead just took off few moments earlier ) got to the wet spot on bald tires and soon as i lost traction when turning i literally was choosing where to hit (light pole, a concrete wall or fence or try to get it stuck in between any of two out of 3 mentioned) all instantly maybe 7m from it. Adrenaline hits so hard brain slowmoes timespace and you're there on peak processing power resolving whatever the hack your life depends on.
Agreed, it’s amazing how much info is filtered out without adrenaline. Time appears slow in those situations because you are able to process every bit of information coming in at lightning speed. You experience the WHOLE moment.

My right arm was springing up and down like it only had a rubber band while on the quad.
Lol looked like the tree cracked the throttle on the way thru. Little smoke puff. Lol aside from that the best explanation of a single jump in human history.
Watching this gave me a panic attack! You described the whole thing so well that any real rider can feel what you went through! 🙏🙏 Glad your alive!
your stories makes my days so much better
Go skate bro
Didn't you purposely crash a plane recently
11:30 You got up on that same bike? It survived? LOL
Yeah that’s pretty surprising
Could have just bailed out if you were wearing your parachute
Bake sails in third full out 60 feet in the air and is fine. I load my bike on the trailer and we arrive with broken shifter, cracked clutch lever, etc... 🤣 SO glad you walked away brother! Was holding my breath on that landing!!
Your mind doesn't slow down at all. It just computes the quickly impending doom information faster, which gives the illusion that the world slows down.....
Been there more than enough times! Absolutely respect the nitro guys and girls for their full commitment to the "art", and it is art! Travis is the most committed freestyle rider of all time. Inspiring, coaching and innovating the next generation but never overlooking his responsibility to protect and empower those who push the art beyond his own ability...
Very well said my friend ✌️
You should have pulled your parachute even though you could have landed that you liar!
It really blows my mind how you guys do these insane tricks. Balls of steel. And it's a real skill.
This video should've been 3 minutes long.
This MFer just loves to listen/see himself talk. Narcissist through and through.
What about ad revenue tho
the gasp and collective sigh of relief when he hits the bag is awesome. you can't fake that shit. you can hear people saying omg and shit while he's in the air lolll. these guys are on another level of crazy.
Non vale la pena rischiare così
Coulda told that story in 2 min.
It is so true about how time seems to slow down so much in situations like this. You literally have 100 different scenarios play out in your mind in just a few seconds.
Very true then once all said n done most will say it happened so fast .
Why didn't wear a shute
I've been in that "zone" during a crash too many times to count, but each time thereafter I'm always amazed at how time SEEMS to slow down, but in reality your brain is firing at such incredible speeds to aid you with the ability to asses your potential moves to come out of the situation relatively unscathed. Unless you've experienced it, you cannot truly understand just how incredible our brains actually are.
I wanted to hear this story in detail so bad! Thank you! Still curious....what happened to the bike?
First off thank you Trevor for making these videos, you’re such a rad dude for sharing this with us all for entertainment and most importantly the life lesson anyone can gain from listening to ones stories. Your so inspiring, Brother🤘🏼🙏🏼💯
So inspiring I wanted to share one of mine. ✌🏼🙏🏼💯🤘🏼
You're gonna have a lot of stories to tell to the inmates for 20 years😂😂
Your description of the mega adrenaline rush is almost perfect. When I rode drag bikes the first pass where the bike would pull hard would do this to me at the hit. Everything would slow way down including sound so I could hear every little detail. A second later at about the 60 foot mark everything would come back and it was the craziest sensation. Cool stuff and sweet video.
Do You Think Clever Trevor Crashed His New Plane On Purpose???
If I go to the track these days and they've got a 90ft tripple, I'm like nah I'm not hitting that. I don't know what kind of mental state you have to be in to do this
Ego gets ya every time
This is a very talented human being 😂
Got to be one of the best RedBull advertisements yet.
Funny story telling as well.
👍
Why did you close the comments on your plane crash video?
the quick bailout to the left 100% saved your life, insane reactions
the trick kick was rad too haha
Who would have thought you'd be staging a plane crash 10 months later and probably going to jail.
glad you made it out of from that one!
Crazy, I saw this video on a nitro circus video. Now I find out this Trevor Jacob is the guy who allegedly faked a plane crash. Crazy
I felt like I was there, great story
Wow!!! Mad respect and talk about living in the moment.
Hahaha!
Man that story is awesome, it was so much fun and excitement hearing it!
Glad you kicked that tree🙈
Every time I see a Red Bull Logo I just think "Is this the time someone dies because of them?"
Because of them? Bro you sound like a fucking party.
@Jacob Nelson I just always expect so see someone die. I am both a little disappointed and relieved each time someone pushes the bar a little higher and walks away from it.
I'm hoping the likes are ironic
well the drink fuckin sucks and we ask twice if something's outta austria, so spot on
That full commitment switch is what saves lives, too!
OMG the play off of the tree....SUPERMAN!
Federal prison for intentionally crashing a plane should give you some directions.
That’s why I tell every rider…you always wear a parachute while motocross riding.
Shoulda brought your parachute
I have that same switch he talks about. Once I tell myself I'm doing something... I'm doing it, even with sirens going off in my head. Glad I'm still here
2:22 okay that's the new best thing I've ever seen LOL awesome
Great story. You explained it perfectly. I felt on the edge of my seat. Nice side kick. Don’t know how the hell you even managed to hit the tree with your foot. Amazing skill.
No one really wants to know the back story… or how it happened..
Awesome vid again trevor. Ive had that feeling a few times in my life when time slows down and everything is in slow motion. What a scary buzz.
You madman. Love it ☘💚✌
How many times does this guy say the word like??
Like..a whole bunch.
It’s disgusting to me that you internally wrecked the taylorcraft
We need to hear travis and the nitro crews perspective one can only imagine what they were thinking
Probably something along the lines of "hahaha what a dumbass, oooh shiiit oooh shiit!!!"
He is so right , when these things happen things do slow down for just a moment and it is like you step out of what's happening for that split second to make a decision .
I got bored after hearing Travis' name 10 times. What happened? Plane fall out of the sky?
He faked an engine failure and parachuted out of his plane for clicks
I had to watch the interview to the end, there would have been a bunch of f bombs from me. Absolutely-bloody magic mate!!!
ive had mid air life or death and its exactly like he describes. everything slows down and you can think about everything you need to think about to save yourself. everything becomes so clear like you have eagle vision and you can kinda see the future its weird.
I haven't have life or death situations but I've been in the air in a bad situation and I can 3rd what he's saying
Дмт
You got guts! You got the glory! Also great that you’re still with us. 💪😂👍
i took a shot everytime he said "like" and woke up in a different country
Damn, you almost wenr off the right side of that ramp.
If that tree wasn't there you probably wouldn't be here telling this story! Glad you were ok!
lol yeah that’s the point
No parachute or wasmthe cycle flying too low?
That was Trevor Jacob. The same guy who crashed his plane for views
duh this is channel
The description of the mindset when u crash is crazy. It's just a crazy experience.
This dude hit that crazy jump so hard he admitted to being able to temporarily see into the future lmaoo
"...and you can see futuristic things too!" Lmao! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
You're going to jail.
The fk you on about
Insane, a 60ft high mid-air passing tree kick to land on the bag, & the fact that you know you had some help, even better.
Your mind doesn't slow down, it speeds up.
Agreed, it’s amazing how much info is filtered out without adrenaline. Time appears slow in those situations because you are able to process every bit of information coming in at lightning speed. You experience the WHOLE moment.
Dude that was gnarly thank God you’re alive
after that plane stunt wondering if you tried to get hurt on this for the views....hmmmmmmmm
that tap of your toes against the tree branch most likely saved your life. what a dope story and video!
You have my personality I love that i found you
