We have a Postal Investigator assigned to our local Sheriffs Office. That dude is a treasure trove of resources and is always at the forefront of our biggest busts including being on the tac team.
@cannibalcupcake333They only deal with mail crime. Mass shootings aren’t going to the of their interest unless the perpetrator got a gun or ammo via the mail.
Postal Police existed before the FBI. You never hear of them, but when you do, you are probably in serious trouble.

This is why you ought never be so dumb as to rob a post office -- one ends up with no less than 4 law enforcement agencies after you (I believe): the Secret Service, the FBI, the Postal Police, and the local dudes.

I can tell you that I have called the USPS, USPS Postal Inspector (recorded call on my channel), OIG, USDOJ & the FBI. Not one has taken action for our post office who refuses to deliver mail. While the FBI argued with me on the phone about "how can you PROVE you're not getting mail," lol, I replied, "When I go to check my mail box here in the complex, it is always EMPTY, THAT'S how I know!" I sent the story along with the recorded phone call of the Postal Inspector saying it wasn't HIS job to the media. Guess who's getting mail now? The FBI does fall short from time to time, but I help them when I can. They need it.
There's a movie and a tv series about them, both named "The Inspectors". Eye opening stuff.

I would go to them for help in safeguarding my identity & family members identity before I can trust some of the local cops. They tend to take the whole concept of a situation verses just the sexy part of a crime.

I found my calling with the postal service 3 months ago. I’m 40 and an ex athlete, college degree. Wish I new about USPIS 10 years ago, even 5 years ago. I’m a PSE, love the hours and overtime, never knew USPS had an FBI parallel until I came to work at my distribution center. Such a shame, I’d love to have applied or find a way to be in USPIS support.

@@alcazar123456Sheriff’s, Feds, local PD, Staties, Corrections, a lot of the guys in my department love the Postal guys that come by. They’re professional, aren’t afraid to get their hands dirty, interviews always go their way they’re excellent at talking to inmates and arrestees. Hoping to join them if I don’t stick in my current LE job.
Great department with great people who are willing to go in with the door kickers and get shit done.

The Postal inspectors did nothing whatsoever to arrest the thieves working at the Oakland Post office who have repeatedly stolen my silver coins. When they say they are arresting thieves it seems they mean as long as the thief is not a US postal worker. And they have also made themselves exempt from lawsuits from their repeated thefts.
Another example of redundancy in federal law enforcement. Feds tripping over each other.

While I am all in favor of these guys (and keeping the Postal Service), this video feels a lot like propaganda. Let me repeat: I think they are necessary and do a great job, but man does this video feel like an ad-- like all those go Army "Army of One" advertisements when I was a kid.

You let local law enforcement handle the entire investigation, make the arrest, and then adopt the job if it goes federal and take all the credit after the fact.
