Because they can relate to the world more efficiently & effectively through art & not through usual means of communication. This is why art & music are important in the first place, it shows us there are other ways to feel & express ourselves. It's very rare you'll find an artist who is talented and able to communicate effectively about it in a social setting. No one has to explain their art, or why it is important, ever. It's very common in my classmates back then to behave this way in reporting cause they can't grasp the proper words for their thoughts. Plus, she can only talk comfortably with her closest friends. Watch hana and grimes live. You'll see she isn't like this as well same as her and andrew yang. Also cause she isolates herself most of the time (for art reasons) , so she tends to lack at communication skills, and she's more of a visual person. Her lyrics may not make sense at first cause it's very abstract, but if you go to genius lyrics, and read the references and meaning there's a story. So much sense and story in the music not just the lyrics itself. If you still wish to add the post partum in pregnancy, and taking care of baby- yes it affects her too. Anyway, for some other bands on the label: Pixies, Lush, Cocteau Twins, and Bauhaus are all great. For starters, I recommend trying the album Spooky by Lush. My favourite song is For Love, first released in 1991 it has a sound very much on the transitional line of the late 80s Shoegaze sound and the early 1990s grunge sound.
Honestly grimes is just the cutest! She is so endearing but you can see she can’t sit down for long without fidgeting 😊. There is this condition and I forget what it’s called but it’s like a sensory type of condition where your body needs to be always moving for you to feel comfortable. Yeah, she's not "on drugs" (a term that the overwhelming majority of people blindly use without knowing fuck all about... anything in depth about any drug, let alone the nuances of individual drugs, which are unsurprisingly, wildly wide ranging). I know from watching enough interviews that she's Grimes, and that's just her being her! I would take an educated guess that she has what psychology calls ADHD... which is basically a superpower in disguise that isn't remotely compatible with most education systems. Think of average stereonormotypical person as having focus and concentration like a garden hose. People with ADHD have multiple 70mm fire hoses running at full pressure. It takes some real skill to control that focus (and uncontrolled, tends to mean just doing whatever is most interesting at that particular moment, zero fucks given to the situation!)... but it makes doing really drawn out difficult shit easy if you're having fun in some form (dopamine plays a huge role here). That's a massive bonus for people like musicians and artists, because unless you're innately supremely talented, producing music at the all encompassing DIY level Grimes does is basically impossible WITHOUT having some sort of "disorder" as medicine so kindly puts it! It's quite simply not typical for people to be able to generate the level of insane motivation needed to work at that level, it's borderline soul destroying to most people. To Grimes? If she's anything like me, she'll sit down to do some unplanned, nondescript task in her studio and only stop when she's interrupted by some annoying inconvenience like weird stomach cramps (which turn out to be hunger). 18 hours later. She'll smash an 20+ hour solid day in the studio without blinking, and literally forget her own physical human needs because hours feel like minutes to her when she's doing her thing. This is stone cold sober. No drugs necessary. As she found out though at some points in her career, mixing amphetamine sulphate and ADD/ADHD with creativity is a fantastic combination (because Ritalin/Adderall are just another boring version of amphetamine, well know for being used to control that focus, minus those nasty evil side effects like... enjoyment and euphoria.... because fun is bad right?), and you can forget 20 hours in the studio. Try 4 days. If you're a junkie, you'll do junkie shit for 4 days. Something useless and not remotely constructive. If you're not a junkie, you're gonna create stuff. And if you're talented, that stuff will be fucking amazing. That pisses all over "winners don't do drugs"... winners can do all the drugs, decide which ones are shitty and not worth it, and not guilt grip themselves into self-generated self-destruction. Drugs are literally cheat codes for life. Use them wisely, and I'm not even going to bother with examples, because they're absolutely wasted on 99.9% of people. Use the wrong ones unwisely, and you will fuck your save savegame up, if you will. It is what it is. However, don't for one second think that Grimes is stupid enough to let anything harm her child: in case it isn't abundantly clear, she's immensely fucking intelligent, WAY beyond average Joe/Jane neanderthal moron that populates this planet. She makes most musicians look like absolute amateurs, as they freely collaborate with industry leading producers, recording engineers, etc at almost every single step. Plenty of incredible guitarists can't record thier own playing without a recording engineer. Grimes just goes out and buys a guitar amp and gets on with it by sheer willpower. My background is IN heavy as fuck guitar based music, and I'm so harshly critical that most metal bands honestly fail to remotely impress me... Grimes literally added flat out stellar heavy guitar to her music for fun. Because she felt like it. She doesn't need drugs, she canout-heavy heavy metal band at their own game, drugs are a toy to someone like her. And she isn't going to be playing with that toy right now. Oh, and it's probably crystal clear that I have ADD, (and resent the phrasing of the "disorder", which is an absolute joke). Case in point, I just wrote a damn essay on Grimes which no one will read. I also make the exact music she is describing wanting more of, which is hilarious, and is going to seriously piss off a lot of people who find the mixing of intensely heavy guitar based music with electronic music... deeply uncomfortable. Great! Because Ministry and Grimes can share the same playlist, and the world had better get used to it.

Anyway, for some other bands on the label: Pixies, Lush, Cocteau Twins, and Bauhaus are all great. For starters, I recommend trying the album Spooky by Lush. My favourite song is For Love, first released in 1991 it has a sound very much on the transitional line of the late 80s Shoegaze sound and the early 1990s grunge sound.

Honestly grimes is just the cutest! She is so endearing but you can see she can’t sit down for long without fidgeting 😊. There is this condition and I forget what it’s called but it’s like a sensory type of condition where your body needs to be always moving for you to feel comfortable. A little girl in my daughters kindergarten class had it. I think she puts a lot of pressure on herself too. G for grimes G for genius! 😂⭐️❤️🎼
Yeah, she's not "on drugs" (a term that the overwhelming majority of people blindly use without knowing fuck all about... anything in depth about any drug, let alone the nuances of individual drugs, which are unsurprisingly, wildly wide ranging). I know from watching enough interviews that she's Grimes, and that's just her being her! I would take an educated guess that she has what psychology calls ADHD... which is basically a superpower in disguise that isn't remotely compatible with most education systems. Think of average stereonormotypical person as having focus and concentration like a garden hose. People with ADHD have multiple 70mm fire hoses running at full pressure. It takes some real skill to control that focus (and uncontrolled, tends to mean just doing whatever is most interesting at that particular moment, zero fucks given to the situation!)... but it makes doing really drawn out difficult shit easy if you're having fun in some form (dopamine plays a huge role here). That's a massive bonus for people like musicians and artists, because unless you're innately supremely talented, producing music at the all encompassing DIY level Grimes does is basically impossible WITHOUT having some sort of "disorder" as medicine so kindly puts it!
It's quite simply not typical for people to be able to generate the level of insane motivation needed to work at that level, it's borderline soul destroying to most people. To Grimes? If she's anything like me, she'll sit down to do some unplanned, nondescript task in her studio and only stop when she's interrupted by some annoying inconvenience like weird stomach cramps (which turn out to be hunger). 18 hours later. She'll smash an 20+ hour solid day in the studio without blinking, and literally forget her own physical human needs because hours feel like minutes to her when she's doing her thing. This is stone cold sober. No drugs necessary.
As she found out though at some points in her career, mixing amphetamine sulphate and ADD/ADHD with creativity is a fantastic combination (because Ritalin/Adderall are just another boring version of amphetamine, well know for being used to control that focus, minus those nasty evil side effects like... enjoyment and euphoria.... because fun is bad right?), and you can forget 20 hours in the studio. Try 4 days. If you're a junkie, you'll do junkie shit for 4 days. Something useless and not remotely constructive. If you're not a junkie, you're gonna create stuff. And if you're talented, that stuff will be fucking amazing. That pisses all over "winners don't do drugs"... winners can do all the drugs, decide which ones are shitty and not worth it, and not guilt grip themselves into self-generated self-destruction. Drugs are literally cheat codes for life. Use them wisely, and I'm not even going to bother with examples, because they're absolutely wasted on 99.9% of people. Use the wrong ones unwisely, and you will fuck your save savegame up, if you will. It is what it is.
However, don't for one second think that Grimes is stupid enough to let anything harm her child: in case it isn't abundantly clear, she's immensely fucking intelligent, WAY beyond average Joe/Jane neanderthal moron that populates this planet. She makes most musicians look like absolute amateurs, as they freely collaborate with industry leading producers, recording engineers, etc at almost every single step. Plenty of incredible guitarists can't record thier own playing without a recording engineer. Grimes just goes out and buys a guitar amp and gets on with it by sheer willpower. My background is IN heavy as fuck guitar based music, and I'm so harshly critical that most metal bands honestly fail to remotely impress me... Grimes literally added flat out stellar heavy guitar to her music for fun. Because she felt like it. She doesn't need drugs, she canout-heavy heavy metal band at their own game, drugs are a toy to someone like her. And she isn't going to be playing with that toy right now.
Oh, and it's probably crystal clear that I have ADD, (and resent the phrasing of the "disorder", which is an absolute joke). Case in point, I just wrote a damn essay on Grimes which no one will read. I also make the exact music she is describing wanting more of, which is hilarious, and is going to seriously piss off a lot of people who find the mixing of intensely heavy guitar based music with electronic music... deeply uncomfortable. Great! Because Ministry and Grimes can share the same playlist, and the world had better get used to it.

she seems different in this interview than others i have seen her in,she seems to be a bit moody and maybe starting to feel self important,i felt there is something she is not happy with in her life
maybe because she is vegan and not getting enough nutrition, especially as her nutrition is being drained by breastfeeding and pregnancy... that could cause mood changes or whatnot. I was vegan for 10 years and it caused lots of problems for me so I don't get how so many people do it. But yeah she is probably just being herself and has a lot going on with her new baby and her work and the pandemic and her relationship and whatnot who knows!
