for 6th gen Laptop it may be possible to update TPM to version 2 and activate secure boot. If this is possible, you may be able to install Windows 11 normally without the Rufus options. I did this with a Dell Latitude E7470 to Windows 11 and so far it updates normally

Thanks for sharing your experience with your Dell Laptop! It's great to hear that you successfully upgraded your system to Windows 11 after enabling TPM and Secure Boot!

Hi will this bypass sse 4.2 Unsupported pc? Thanks as Microsoft are not supporting my cpu

Hello @happyputt9709 I believe the current version of Rufus still works for clean installs of 24H2 though, with the bypasses ‘ticked’ in the options. The “unsupported” CPU’s still require POPCNT and SSE4.2 - there’s no known ways to bypass those at the moment.

I have 2 hard disks in my pc. The first one has Windows 10 and the 2nd one has no Windows OS installed. I have prepared a bootable usb drive of Windows 11 installation with Rufus. Now I wish to install Windows 11 24h2 on the 2nd hdd which is without any OS. I tried to install Windows on 2nd hdd with the bootable usb after removing the 1st hdd with Windows 10, but it didn't work. Please advise how can I install Windows 11 on the 2nd disk using the bootable Windows installation USB drive.

Hello @JRMehta-qd4mp, You can install Windows 11 on the second hard drive without removing the first hard drive, just make sure to select the correct drive during installation. I will try to summarize the process, it may vary a little depending on your system.
Make sure to *take a back up of all your data* and/or create a system Image of your hard drives, so you do not accidentally format or delete data on your drives.
      *Boot from USB drive*
Insert the bootable USB drive into a USB port on your computer.
Power on your PC and immediately press the required key to enter the BIOS/UEFI, This key is often F2, DEL, ESC, or F12, depending on the motherboard manufacturer.
In BIOS/UEFI, change the boot order so that the USB drive is set as the first boot device. Save the changes and exit. Your PC should now boot into the Windows installation setup from the USB drive.
      *Start Windows Installation*
When the Windows setup screen appears, select your language, time zone, and keyboard layout. Click Next, On the next screen, click Install Now.
Enter your Windows 11 product key when prompted or choose I don’t have a product key, to activate later to sign in with Windows Account
*Select the Second Disk for Installation*
When asked where you want to install Windows, you’ll see a list of available disks and partitions, identify your second disk, choose the one where you want to install Windows 11.
If the second disk doesn’t have any partitions, it will appear as unallocated space. If there are partitions already on the disk, you may need to delete or format the partitions before installing, just be cautious, as this will erase all data on that disk.
Select the second disk and click Next. The installer will automatically create the necessary partitions on the second disk. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation,
      *Dual Boot*
Windows will automatically create a boot manager to allow you to choose which OS to boot into. If not, you can manually configure a dual-boot setup later.
I hope this will help, best of luck

@@RightSolutionsThanks for your reply explaing ithe process of installation in detail. But, I get no Setup screen after booting my pc with the installation USB. I have created this usb on Rufus by selecting MBR partition scheme as my PC is BIOS based. Windows 11 23H2 was working well on my 2nd pc, but it got corrupted when I made some changes in its registry to enable non-functional right mouse click. Thereafter,I get BOD with "No boot device found" error. I tried to run Windows Repair, but the mouse and keyboard stopped working on Repair screen, so I couldn't select the Restart/ Advanced option buttons. In order to clean install Windows 11, I deleted all the files present in C drive of the 2nd HDD using Windows 10 available on the 1st hdd and now its drive letter is changed to H.

@@JRMehta-qd4mp Well, there are quit a few possibilities, I need more info about your system to get to the bottom of the problem, but lets come back to the basics. I assume you are NOT trying to install Windows on removeable Drive, as it has different procedure.
Deleting Windows folder or files don't clean your hard disk, and especially when you are using a lower version to delete the superior version.
Windows installation creates a few hidden partitions, every installation attempt will try to access/resume the previous one.
Now as you have working Windows 10, go to "Disk Management" select your Disk and delete all the partitions in there, then create a new a one and format with NTFS.
Now disconnect your windows 10 hard drive, and boot with USB, hopefully this time it should work.
If not, go to your BIOS setting, Configuration, or Advanced, find Drive or SATA Configuration, set Configure SATA from RAID to AHCI, *BUT After that* Don't connect you Windows 10 drive without reversing it, as it may become inaccessible.
*Backup your data*; It's always a good idea to back up your important data before making any changes in BIOS, especially when switching from RAID to AHCI or vice versa.
      Best of luck

So it will not refuse my previous serial key?

    • @RightSolutions
      @RightSolutions  2 дні тому

Hello @barneyDcaller if you upgrade from Windows 10 Home to Windows 11 Home, the Windows 10 license key will be converted into a digital license. This license will be linked to your Microsoft account if you use your Microsoft account to sign in to the device. And you can use your account to reactivate the same Windows edition. If you are currently in Windows 11, upgrade should not effect license key.
Note; I advise you to first back up your important files before you performing any upgrade or reinstallation.
