For me it's a good monitor for musician, I can hear the guitars better not thin sounding even keyboard/piano and drums/percussion sounded natural. It's better for for listening for band music Jazz, 70's Funk, Soul, RnB, Rock or Metal.
Just got my MT1….preburnin…..mids and vocals recessed, after 5 hrs veiled….mid to upper bass bleeding into lower mids, treble lacks sparkle, high mids bleeding into lower treble range…eartips ok, replaced w spare XELASTECS sound better. Cable tangles, but good connections. L and R on each IEM and cable 2 pin connector musta been designed by Stevie Wonder!……gonna do full burnin since DD respond well to burnin….my guess the sound will get better….prob buy a cheap upgrade cable. @@VortexReviews1 IMO it was $3 cost on sale w coupons , w decent reviews that made me by two, one for a friend into IEMs….my thoughts were it would be good for exercising, walking, yard work, beach, traveling…easy to drive, just use my iPhone as a source. Great review! They definitely fit my preferred listening.. These iems actually sound nice in phone headphone out. Using an amp made them really boomy and giving loose bass. They might sound better if I get a silver cable for them. I'll see or hear when I got the silver cables
Hi sir will this have good bass vs kz ksn a mild controlled bass that rumble abit and can be use with today's mid end phone. I plan to use silver+gold kz cable for it also with topping nx1a, do u think its a good choice? Or I shud go straight to kz zsn pro just for fun iem BTW. Thanks again for such reviews awsome as always
I got myself TRN T2 cable, and found that TRN cable C-pin style does not fit into EDX, and there's a difference, that QDC and TRN C-Pin has a thicker sheath around the pins, and the socket sits entirely outside the earphone shell; but on EDX the socket is recessed, and part of the plug sheath dives into the shell, so the thickness there matters. Additionally if you did fit the TRN C-Pin cable in, the angle of the connector is too steep, or maybe because the connector is shorter, and it's rubbing on the ear, quite unpleasant. I got T2 cable because it was cheap and it's a good looking cable with all the cores you could want, and i should have gotten the straight 0.75 rather than the C-pin, looks better too, but another thing that disappointed me was the horrible smell, that hasn't gone away in months. Now i have straight 2-pin JCAlly cable, 8-core, using with EDX, and that's been quite pleasant to wear. But it's not a perfect aesthetic fit. MT1 coming out is quite fortunate. I was thinking of getting another EDX, but i might get MT1 instead. I can then use the T2 cable on them when the smell finally dissipates. I find that the KZ Starline tips introduce a bit of shout of their own. I wonder if most of the difference betwen MT1 sound and EDX sound is in the tips. The specs look suspiciously similar. Also besides, using my own tips on EDX, i also put a 4mm punched out piece of medical plaster tape on each nozzle, which has attenuated the shoutiness to where it's basically completely gone. Funnily enough the top end probably isn't really affected much at all, there's a lot of energy above 16KHz as i noticed recently, which is a little astounding.
Thanks for your detailed impressions and opinion I would go for the MT1 over the EDX but I am going off my own units. I also have a normal version of the T2 cable and I tend to use it with the VK4.
The KZ EDZ has more bass and treble but I like this for listening to rock/metal and even jazz since I can hear the guitar and percussion better and even the vocals if not instrumental and not fatiguing. For me none of them is better but both has specific strength and better suited to a type of music or application.
I will be comparing it with the VK4 in a upcoming video as this video is solely only about the MT1. The CST has unit variance from what I have seen and it is a different product.
