An AR-15 as a Christmas gift for a 14-year-old with mental issues. WTF!!!
I mean I was 14 and a half when I assembled my first rifle... Back 10 years ago you used to be able to buy all the parts and pieces for the gun but you couldn't buy a completed gun. Play distill that way for instance if you want to get by the California bullet registry just reload your own you can buy all the ingredients without the regulations
What's the penalty for possession and illegal firearm? It certainly wouldn't be a felony and if it's anything like California where we had a sentence enhancement for use of gun in a criminal activity.. we got rid of it because that law disproportionately affect people of color. That's California's reasoning I thought it sounded a bit racist.. here's the thing there's always going to be a workaround when it comes to firearms we need to know what the penalty is because we are not holding criminals accountable for squat

I've lived here in Georgia over 35 years, and it seems that half the parents here gift their teenagers with guns. But I taught my childrenhow to box, as my dad taught me back in 1950s Chicago. That's how we
handled disputes at school or on the streets - with fists, not the coward's way with guns. As an old man well into his 70s, I can tell you that's it's absolutely the proliferation of guns in this country that is the root of the problem and the blood money that the Republican Party receives from gun lobbies that prevents a common sense solution to the gun problem in our nation.
Why not the mom? Why does she get a free pass?
The mom doesn't live with them.
Divorced
Or maybe she was unaware of the 14 year old possessing a firearm on school grounds
They were separated, the mother was not in contact with the child.
She didn't live with them. The father gave a minor a weapon, which is illegal. It's not illegal to be such a bad parent your child makes horrible decisions. If that were true, there would be over 10,000,000 parents in prison.
I knew it the usual suspect smh
Lol. Idiotic and ignorant! Now put down the crack pipe and get METAL COUNSELING
Bad son. Bad father.
What if kids are being bullied? Parents of bullies should be charged
its high school, kids get bullied all the time but everyone has more mature ways of handling it. don't defend a murderer because he's getting 'bullied'. if anything, the father made things worse with a toxic home environment that made things worse than the bullies,
He just enrolled to this school 2 weeks ago and it was his second day. What bully was he targeting??? How about not buying your mentally ill child a weapon?? If the FBI has already questioned your son about school shooting threats why would you buy him a weapon?! No bullies words validate what school shooters do. The fear, the trauma they inflict on kids and entire communities. And I say this as a mom of a son who was so bullied in elementary school I had to withdraw and homeschool for the last 2 months. I fully understand the impact bullying can have. The instant my son started becoming the bully a few years after he was assaulted and bullied for a year I took action. He was in therapy, worked with school counselors, and when that didn’t work we did extensive out patient therapy. If that hadn’t worked I would’ve gone further. Yes parents of bullies should act but that doesn’t excuse or validate what happened.
that’s very stupid
he switched schools, he was a freshman, they would’ve known him a few weeks since they started in august.
@@richardransome4943 I would agree that if someone is getting bullied, they should tell their principal, or call 911 to report the bullying to the police
FBI, school.officials and the Dad are to blame for the death of these people. They had him on their radar and let him stay in school.
And the person who actually planned this and carried it out? He gets ALL the blame. No one else did this except he himself. He is the culprit, no matter what anyone else did or didn't do, HE DID THIS ALONE, premeditated, planned, and carried it out. No one else did it. Personal responsibility!
Not the FBI Vladamir. Not their jurisdiction. The people who wrote the laws and refused to make a Red Flag law were Republicans. The Republican governor ran on the issue of making it easier for everyone to carry a gun anywhere without a permit. He specifically said he would never sign a red flag law. So, it's not the FBI to blame. It literally is those who wrote the lax laws that tied the hands of the local police: that would be REPUBLICANS. Sorry to burst your anti-FBI bubble.
Lol. STOP SMOKING CRACK

FBI notified local police. Local police investigated him and his father but he did not do anything illegal at the time. It would be hard for police to keep track of these students. There should be a red flag warning on these students if they transfer to another school, so the new school can keep an eye on them.

@@blackosprey2219 for violating the eighth amendment perhaps
The FBI flagged the Student when he was 13 years old & stated no evidence to charge him & proves Red Flag Laws do not prevent Mass Shootings. The FBI is responsible not local Police or Sheriff.
Georgia voters love putting Republicans in office. They don’t like accountability or laws and love guns so you get what you get.
@@blackosprey2219 It has nothing to do with the constitution, it has to do with the LACK OF RED FLAG LAWS in GEORGIA! You know, the red flag laws that the Republicans are dead set against? Heaven have mercy on us all when a victim of bullying reaches their limit and finally snaps. If the shooter was bullied beforehand then someone should have helped him before all this happened.

Exactly what I was thinking too, they're charging the father with the son's actions, which I understand, though believe the FBI/Police that had this 14 yr old on their radar, should have been doing follow ups, with the very least being asking people around him, including the parents, if they have noticed any changes, aggressiveness, mood swings, keeping to himself a lot...that possibly could have avoided this senseless act.
The FBI questioned him and couldn’t prove anything. Unless you have some evidence that they had evidence but chose not to use it
