One parent: taught child to always look out the door before opening the door. That small lesson saved 30 kids and teacher life.
Raised another child who learned CPR even though she was not able to use it. But was still brave enough to drag the teacher to safety.
Other parent: was questioned about his child being a threat with desires to have a mass shooting only a year prior. Still gave the kid an assault rifle for his birthday...100% responsible for those who lost their life.

We often recognize the children who died as well as their families, which is of course the right things to do, but I think we forget about the lifelong trauma caused to survivors, whether or not they were injured. These girls will never forget this day. For the rest of their lives, the memories will pop up unexpectedly, and they'll have so many emotions.

The kid had only been at Apalachee for a combined 5 hours. His first day was Tuesday, he only did a half day. Wednesday he went back and decided to kill innocent people before 10am. No one even knew him!
He might have been bullied in Jackson County but that doesn't have shit to do with his choice to murder children and teachers at a new school in a completely different county.

Yeah i mean to be fair the audio recording was from when he was at a middle school where he probably was getting bullied but he transferred to a new school and shot unknown people. And 99.9999999999% of bullying victims don’t turn into mass shooters so it’s never a valid reason. It speaks more to a lack of real parenting

  • @marleymescudi

As a lifelong Barrow County resident, the hardest thing about this is most kids here have known each other throughout their entire K-12 experience. When I initially heard about the shooting I couldn't process someone shooting up a school full of kids they've known their whole lives. Now, knowing the shooter was someone who isn't from here and decided to bring so much pain and trauma to the entire community after spending less than a full day in the school makes me incredibly angry.
