New to jazz from being a Death metal guitarist and I gotta say this is a great practice song for getting used to chords/chord changes.
learning soprano saxopone here... after hours practicing arpeggios only, finally starting to sound melodic ! Merci Martin ;) J'avais bossé tout mon solfège sur ton site il y a plusieurs années quand je commençais la basse électrique, depuis je recommande à tous les autodidactes que je croise ! Cheers ;)
Merci beaucoup Bob !!
Happy for you! I am still working towards that😁
Bet you're pretty good now!

Thanks for this track. I've been using it to jam with my bass and now using it to learn it on the keyboard. One of the best jazz standards of all times.
Just learned this in the real book, practicing playing the chords and melody..........slowed it down to 75% just right to begin......THANKS !
SAME!!!

Some of us need the note to shine, others we dim the way, but we are in favor of harmony
Very didactic, it really is a very simple way to learn. Thanks
Just learned this song on piano and I’m playing it over this ! Thanks
I'm using this backing track to study arpeggios on my guitar, here in Brazil (14/05/21) 🇧🇷🎶🎸.

I study Engineering, semester begins today, but I have a passion in jazz
I really enjoy solo guitar playing with this backing track
Love it. I took lessons for a few months and officially starting as a self taught (mostly into metal and rock) I got into blues and classical. But when I saw my teacher I wanted to learn something I never dove into, jazz.
I am working with this track today. Enjoying it immensely-thanks for it!
Thank you so much this was very helpful for someone learning how to comp!
Just what I was going to say.
Thanks for these tracks. Just memorized Autumn Leaves on trumpet and now I'm working on improvisation!
Which version did u memorise, is there sheet music?
@@MichaelGawesebmainone You could try buying a real book! it's a compilation of a lot of jazz standards with their sheet music and chord progressions!
This is where I started too! Next check out Satin doll, Mr. PC, or Black Orpheus. All great tunes that are very accessible for trumpet, and in the real book
@@MichaelGawesebmainone I just saw this. This backing track is in Em so I learned it in F# minor for trumpet, which sounds harder than it actually is! You can take this and move it all up a whole step. gmys.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Autumn-Leaves-Eb-1.pdf If you're playing a concert instrument then the sheet music is already in Em.
@@MrDrSenorSteeze Thanks for the recommendations! I'll check those out!
Thanks for your tracks. After trawling the net for good backing tracks my conclusion is that yours are the best!!
Thanks a lot Einar !!!

This is a nice medium tempo, not too difficult to follow along with. Thanks for putting this up!
My playing partner wanted to cover this...
We begin today!
Thanks so much for this, it's exactly what I was looking for!
Thank you, much appreciated for posting this.
Thanks for this backing track :) so nice to play along !
Excellent work! Thanks!
C'est absolument genial! Grand merci!

Me too.
It's my first time...🤣🥰😂🥰🤣😂 I never seen such "backtrackin' things before ☺ Now I CAN USE IT..! ...and study my guitar playin' with it! Hurraaaaa..! 🥰🥰🥰
Thanks so much for posting this. I just started learning jazz, and I feel like a total beginner. For this lesson I was just keeping it to basics G major over the major sections, and E harmonic minor over the minor sections (exception being that small part w/ the flats which called for a couple Melodic minors).
I especially appreciate the scrolling and accuracy. I'd have a lot of trouble figuring out where I'm screwing up if not for your addition, and taking the effort so all levels can approach. Some of these backing tracks start off okay, but by the B section I don't know what planet their chords are coming from.
I see some people are complaining about Em6. Whatever, to that. You nailed the bulk of the FAKE BOOK aside from one little chord.
Can't tell you how much I appreciate your backing tracks. They keep me sane, and calm as I stress my way through the difficulties of learning Jazz. Starting from the bottom after 20 years being self-taught is a harsh pill. Thank you for making my experience more pleasant. SUBBED. :)
Cool ! Thanks a lot Terry !
@@guitareimprovisation No problem. man! Like I said, thank you! :)
Still practicing your Backing Track, right now! Should be ready for tomorrow's lesson. I've got a good ear, but I'm a long way from the comfort of minors and majors. I'm sure everyone encounters these difficulties in the beginning. This is only my second improv assignment.
Glad you have so much material, b/c after tomorrow I'll be needing you again for my third. lol.
Have a great day, my man :)
P.S - Those lame shredders have nothing on you Jazz musician's, that's for sure.
thanks to your comment (especially the last paragraph) inspires me to keep playing the guitar, just for sake of music and not shredding haha
@@cx777o That's so awesome to hear, man. I can't shred to save my life. So, there. :)
Jazz would be music for the sake of music.
I've always really dug the more inspired roots of 60's and 70's music.
I'm currently learning The Allman Bros. Fillmore West performance of Stormy Monday Blues. Check that one out.
Dickie Betts always said, his style was so simple that anyone could play it.", but there's a big difference b/w this and "Jessica" lol.
Even w/ the tab, it's just nuts. Probably b/c you just don't see tab like this anymore, man! I'd be curious to know what a guitarist of your skill thought about it. :)

Grand Merci pour ce backing track, vachement bien...!

Will it be possible to get the bases without the bass and also the battery base alone? thank you very much
Dammit instructor, I can't read enchantment table quite yet. I'll give this my best shot though.
Every note on whatever you're playing works in this song if you just resolve back to the right spot.

I actually like the neutrality. The problem with these things is that really good tracks where a real R sect pays their butts off like it's a gigit becomes less conducive for trying out stuff over the track for many repetitions. This is good wallpaper. Thanks
Hello, Thank you for putting this out there.
I've never experienced improvising over such tracks, usually I play over Ballad Rock/Blues/Some spanish/phryg style,
what should I play here ?
I try to notes of the chords played in this track, like playing the 1 or the 3rd of Am7 (A or C) etc... it sounds okay but feels I'm missing something the whole picture :P
+Boristofu Povolotsky Look up "autumn leaves" on youtube and listen to some other players play through it. The idea is to use the harmony implied by the chords to construct your own improvisation! It doesnt always mean you need to play chord tones, but they help you to resolve melodic ideas or construct interesting contours. Basically, you can do what ever the hell you like! :D
To start you can the e minor scale it sounds really good but then to advance you can add note to harmonize it all
Self teaching Alto sax. so this has been nice find. would like to use and if used will give full cedit if thats cool with you ta.
Sure ! But it depends how you use it. If it's on youtube or facebook, just put a link in the description as my CC Licence mentions.
Nice slow version of "Windmills of Your Mind" would be great
Nice
Спасибо!
Hi, thanks for your effort. I want to ask you. Is this backing track suitable for alto saxophones?
Algunos necesitamos que la nota brille, otros atenuamos el camino, pero vamos a favor de la armonía
Muy didáctico, realmente es una muy sencilla forma de aprender. Gracias
Sometimes its really important, that you listen to an instrument or vocalist that has to breathe......Before you solo over a backing track.....(without getting into the whole debate about the pros of cons of the use of backing tracks, for me does it serve a purpose when i am alone practicing, yes this certain one we are using right here does.} no matter what level player you are, take it easy...Put on a beautiful trumpet solo over this tune, do not transcribe but absorb it....Hopefully now you are clear headed have a lot of beautiful inspiration....You are now ready to play at your level most of the slow ideas your ear is hearing pretty quickly....Now sing the melodies as you play them, if possible....piano, guitar, bass, etc......Some old school guy sat me down, he play in late 40-50s.and this was the first thing he made me do....I could not sleep and did not proof read, do the exercise for 3 days then go back and play a different song you been learning...See a difference??? If you do get in touch, this is no bullshit for the doubters and haters...Im much more a rock blues guitarist, who gets jazz gigs here and there, so i am reviewing all the material he taught me lately.....If you like to join me get in touch...Ronnie Fischer facebook...ruronnie2@gmail.com...this is not guitar lessons, its a program that has a start and finish....it takes 4months-1year to complete....im tired, get in touch if it works, this just a tiny piece.....plz do hate, just say nothing...or say it privately to me..ty
Thank you for sharing track with us. Can I use this backing track for my video?
if it's on youtube, that it's not monetized and that you write a link aiming at my video in the description, yes !
Problem solved! Thanks.
I really enjoy your work - your tracks are high quality. That being said, there seems something off about your Autumn leaves tracks. I am playing saxophone to them, and i am having to tune down a bit to be in tune. It seems almost like the Guitar is bending down a little at he end of phrases.
Thanks a lot ! I don't hear that, can you please tag a specific moment of the video ?
@@guitareimprovisation Its actually driving me crazy. It sounds fine till i play with it. I am a pro musician, and have 40 years experience. Sadly, AM a perfectionist lol.Have someone play a sax or Clarinet with it and see if you can see what I mean. It sounds good by itself and cant really tell where the weirdness is. Its something about how the guitar rings. dont notice it on your others much, but mainly on this one. could just be a stylistic thing. I am not criticizing - your m y favorite backing track guy on here.Georgia on my mind and Fly me to the Moon are fine.
@@robertballard8833 is it the E6 chord?
Are these free? Can I use them in my videos?
I am quite confused. If I am playing sheet music in G major, on an Eb alto sax... should I be playing Autumn Leaves backing track in E major?
follow the key of the song not instrument
The Em7-Eb7 to Dm7-Db7 on bass, is he playing within the chords? I cannot figure that one out.
😎✨✨✨
What does the triangle mean by G and C for example?
can some one tell me what fingering they are using for the F#0 i cant seem to get the right sound when i try and play this
Sorry for the late response. In context, it should be F#, A, C, E.
I hope that makes sense, and as always you can switch the notes and change the order around.

I can improvise on this pretty good on guitar but the piano needs a little work.. I know a fair amount of theory. I play this close to the original notes. everybody has their own style but often I hear jazz players play so outside to conform to modal jazz that I lose the tune being played.. also I would like to use this on my piano pianostyle100 channel.. I plan to do one with piano and one with me solowing. let me know if that's okay I'll give you credit. liked and subscribed.
PIANOSTYLE100 Great! Yes you can do that, you just have to put a link in the description (creative Commons licence). thanks!
Guitare Improvisation I give you a ✋ for that. planning to use my Bluetooth jam speaker to get good quality. One thing I like about your work is that it stays true to the score.. I don't get jam tracks that play minors or thirteenths where the dominant sevenths is what is called for, that just just throws off all the work you just did.. Do you have another music channel other than the jam track one? last but least do you have any free PDFs about music theory ECT.
PIANOSTYLE100 Thanks. yes I have free transcriptions and explanations about theory in French. But the best you can do is find a good teacher: if you're only looking for free stuff you're not gonna get very far to my point of view.
Guitare Improvisation I partially agree that you get what you pay for generally. there are many partially correct tutorials out there on the net.. I try to go the sources and work my way back. if I want to learn about geometry I read Euclid. Plane geometry hasn't changed. This requires work. So yes you get what you pay for.. I have owned and still own bookcases of music books. I trust printed things more than things on the net. So in that respect, things that are free sometimes have nobody with any kind of responsibility for what they write... and even though it may be extremely accurate it may be totally wrong as far as the the theory prescribes.
Yes I get what you say. Music doesn't change so much, but pedagogy can be great or awful depending on the teacher. For jazz piano I know "The Piano book" (Mark Levine) which is great, but there are others that I don't know. And what I was suggesting was more "if you want to save time and get right to the point find a teacher that teachs well, plays weel and has an approach that fits you".
can someone tell me how to play the F#ø and the Db7? thanks
Maria Altimo this is an old post but the you asked how to play the f# half dimished and you asked how to play the dflat7. Peruse this at your leisure it's involved .
This may sound complicated, if you bake a cake and you wrote about it, it would sound complicated. After you study this for awhile it will make sense. cut and paste this into a music journal. or put in watch later. I will give you the answers but teach (not over the net) so you can do it yourself. I am writing a flip phone so there may be mistakes. First the dflat 7 . All you do I'd make the dflat maj 7 and flat the flat the seventh . I have common sense methods along with theory. Let's think c scale and translate that knowledge. We will use c because c has no accidentals(sharps or flats.)
notes of the major c scale are are cdefgab (c.). look on your keyboard. all major scales follow the pattern whole step. whole step 1/2 step 3 whole steps a half step that will be the octave. ( a 1/2 step is a semitone and a step is two semitones.). I call this (21/2 3 1/2 ) take c e g and flat the the natural 7 (b) .. that will be called the flatted 7 (not the major 7 (b.) so the c 7 is also called a dominant c7. Also notice that by taking the root c c down by a whole step you get the same bflat note. Now let's go onto the f #°. The full dimished chord in c would be c eflat gflat a . This is nothing but stacked minor thirds. c to eflat then eflat to gflat then gflat to a . but the half dimished only does one minor diad(two notes) play c and eflat simultaneously. now let's play the original gflat and a together. all four notes . that is is not what you asked for ( you still have a full diminished chord. The half has a bflat in it.. The easiest way to make c dim is to take the above c seven chord c e g bflat and flat all but the root c . c eflat gflat a.. the c half finished is c eflat gflat blat. Whew. now form the f# dominant chord ( f# a# c# e ) flat all except root and flatted 7. . Finally ( f# a c e ) is is your f#° .. hope this helps.. if you've moved on just delete this..

Need help, I'm not familiar with the symbols.
The triangle symbol means major 7th or 9th chord - for C, that corresponds to C E G (the triad), B (7th) and D (9th). The percent symbol means continue playing the most recent chord. The circle with a slash through means half-diminished, or minor 7th chord with a flatted fifth.
si alguna vez en tu mirar permaneció la soledad
entre palabras y plumas sobre papel

después quizá sientas caer hojas de otoño en tu piel
es la magia de un texto que nunca existio y que al verte por ti imaginé
Question- is the first note of playing the melody an E?
That's it
What´s the key? Amazing track!
Looks like G major
I'd go with E minor. Same key signature as G major but the tonal center seems to arrive in measures seven and eight.
E min
Amazing! But I have a question, what does the triangle symbols, circle with a slash symbol, and the % symbol represent?
Rwen Rwen The triangle symbol means its a major 7th chord, so that'd be C major 7 and G major 7. The slashed circle symbol means its a diminished 7th chord, so that's an F# diminished chord. Lastly, the percent sign just means to play the chord before it again
@@sergiojulius1346 slashed circle means half diminished 7 (also known as a 7b5). Just a circle without a slash is a fully diminished 7.
