- Move over, Raptor - Ram's "don't call it a Hellcat truck" 2021 Ram 1500 TRX is here! The 2021 Ram TRX takes the regular 2021 Ram 1500 and beefs it up with a stronger frame, 702 HP 6.2L supercharged V8, Bilstein shocks, and big 35" all-terrain tires. We towed a car trailer with the 2021 Ram TRX, here's how the Ram TRX towing experience was. After our 2021 Ram 1500 TRX towing test, we spent some time in a (privately owned) field or two and had a little more fun.

LOVED the hooning part. This truck was born to SEND IT! The fact that it can tow a fair amount is an incredible plus that keeps it being truck-levels of useful.
Fabulous review.
That RAM is just so amazing, way better than the Raptor. such a cool truck, good job RAM!!!!
Don't forget that's the :big boi: Featherlite heavy axles
It is the big boi 12,000lb rated but it’s not a featherlite, it’s a H&H trailers Speed Loader EX. I love it, a great value and an innovative design.
If you get the bed spare is there still a spare under the truck?
Correct, you end up with two spare tires.
Panoramic moonroof would probably affect payload.
Dreaded 18 wheeler?
Full send. In no fashion would I ever prefer a normal 1500, lol.
The TRX is just plain FUN! Like a toy for adults.
So don't carry a spare..got it. I sold my 19 Raptor and order a TRX but after towing with one i just ended up with a 2500. I tow too much for one of these trucks now.
Whether you choose the bed-mounted spare or not, you will also always get another spare wheel/tire mounted under the bed like on every other Ram 1500. Bed-mounted spare is a second spare, not the only.
@@OutMotorsports ah makes more sense. my raptor had an 1100 pound payload but after tongue weight, tools and stuff in the bed plus people i was always overloaded. power was completely fine though.
Towing, always go with a diesel. Better mileage and don't have to rev so high to get the max torque.
Gonna have to disagree with the braking portion of the video with the brake pad comment . I mean you can engine brake with it. I engine brake jn my 392 challenger , it’s better and safer for stopping and saves your brake life.
Nobody is buying a TRX to tow...feel like this review missed the mark there a bit. It's all about off-road.
Some do, and towing manners matter for those buyers. We tow with anything that arrives with a hitch because most other outlets don’t.
@@OutMotorsports exactly what I was thinking do you think this would tell a g23 Paragon which weighs 7200 without the trailer??
I'm looking at getting one of these and I do tow often, this video was helpful for me
@@dkeator Curious, what do you plan to tow with the TRX?
@@justinc71 I generally only tow cars so keeping it light. I have a 7x18 aluminum car hauler
